Syfte: Målet med detta projekt var att implementera musklerna på de nedre extremiteterna, i den fullskaliga,virtuella humanmodellen (THUMS) i finita element-programmet LS-Dyna. Modellen ska kunna användas isimuleringar av pre-crash scenarior varför musklerna ska vara aktiva och generera krafter mycket nära verkligheten.Metod: Projektet fokuserade på de musklerna som styr flexion och extensionsrörelserna i knä- och höftleden.Musklerna modellerades som endimensionella Hill-element som syftar till att vara en god approximation avhur muskler fungerar. Varje muskel modellerades som minst ett Hill-element där muskler med större utbredningdelades upp i flera element för att förbättra approximationen med endimensionella element. Our modern society is in many ways built with and dependent on fossil fuels, which are used for energy production as well as for transporting humans and goods. Without the oil, many of the things we take for granted would not be possible. During the last century, the use of oil has increased steadily and will probably keep increasing as the world population and the economic well-being for many people increase. Since the oil is a finite resource, we will have to find other fuels that can replace it if we want to keep the same rate of development in the future as the availability of petrol fuels will decrease with rising prices as a result. In this master?s thesis the problem of simulating conditional Bernoulli distributed stochastic variables, given the sum, is considered. Three simulation methods are considered, namely the acceptance/rejection technique, Bondesson?s method and the Markov chain Monte Carlo method.To compare the three methods the bias and the standard deviations of the simulated variables are evaluated. The results of the simulation study shows that the Markov chain Monte Carlo method is not the best method for this type of simulation.

One of the most commonly used methods for analysis of polyphenols is the Folin-Ciocalteu (FC) method, where the FC reagent has been reported to interfere with some substances in fruit juices. The interfering substance that is present in the highest amount in most fruit juices is ascorbic acid. In this study, the total phenolic content (TPC) of three fruit juices was analysed by the FC method as well as with an enzymatic method with hydrogen peroxide oxidoreductase type II (HRP) for comparison. To investigate how the interfering ascorbic acid affects the TPC, juice samples were analysed after removal and addition, respectively, of ascorbic acid. The samples were analysed with HPLC both before and after the extraction phase of the FC method.

In this case we have studied Whole Body Vibration training as an example of a new method of treatment. Semistructured interviews were performed with five physiotherapists. The study was carried out as a qualitative content analysis study.
