The aim of the study has been to investigate physiotherapists? view on a new method of treatment in physiotherapy. In this case we have studied Whole Body Vibration training as an example of a new method of treatment. Semistructured interviews were performed with five physiotherapists. The study was carried out as a qualitative content analysis study. The interviews were coded in categories. The categories were then brought together in four major categories: Attitudes towards new method of treatment, Whole Body Vibration training as a method, The meaning of evidence based medicine and The meaning of clinical experiences. The result indicated that the interviewed physiotherapists´ view on new methods of treatments was based upon attitudes, where a sceptical view was taken up in order to critically examine the new method, which could be seen as a temporary trend and/or a method of treatment under development. Physiotherapists´ view on a new method of treatment can change from the results of future evidence based on research and should therefore be completed with the clinical experiences that will be received by using the method.
