That we have a great need to be encouraged is coated in a variety of motivational theories. Despite our awareness of this need, studies show that Swedish employees feel a lack of encouragement in the workplace. The purpose of this report is to examine the factors that affect our ability to give others encouragement.Empirical data were collected through questionnaires from 91 people in the workplace. Correlation between the experience of giving and receiving encouragement, self-image, outlook on mankind and stress in the workplace are examined using a linear Multiple Regression Analysis. Correlation between the experience of giving and receiving encouragement is examined using Pearsons test of correlation.The results show that there is no significant correlation between the experience of giving and receiving encouragement, self-image, outlook on mankind and stress.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to examine the function of the budget as a means of control within an organisation in the public sector. To accomplish this, a case study has been conducted on a certain business unit within Luftfartsverket responsible for providing Air Traffic Control services. The thesis is built on a framework of contemporary theories of budgeting and includes a brief discussion of the weaknesses usually associated with the traditional budget. The conclusion of the study is that the use of budget as a means of financial control within Luftfartsverket is not efficient enough at the moment.

The aim of this study was to study how Swedish youth national football players handle stressful events in sports. A longitudinal questionnaire diary was constructed from a revised version of Nicholls and Polmans (2007) design with the intention of recording in-sport and psychosocial stress, choice of coping strategy and coping effectiveness. The participants were 59 Swedish youth national football players born 1992 observed during a four day national training camp held by the Swedish Football Association. Data were drawn from a quantifying analyzing method. The main result showed that the most common stressors reported were, physical injury or pain, experiencing teammates or opponents to perform better and feeling generally insecure during training camp.

Bakgrund: Stress påverkar hälsan negativt. Påfrestningar i arbetslivet leder till arbetsrelaterad stress. Sjuksköterskor har många faktorer i sitt arbete som leder till arbetsrelaterad stress. Detta leder inte endast till negativa konsekvenser för sjuksköterskan utan kan även påverka patienten negativt. Fysisk aktivitet har i tidigare studier visat sig kunna leda till minskad stress i det dagliga livet.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate analysts' and investors' possibility to compare different companies' information in accounting for goodwill under IFRS in their annual and semi-annual reports. The study was based on IAS 34 on interim reporting, IAS 36 impairment of goodwill and the comparability requirement of the financial statements. Therefore, the comparability requirements? of the IASB Framework, previous studies on the comparability after the implementation of IFRS and also the relevance of goodwill was studied. We used a qualitative textual analysis to examine whether the recognition of goodwill is considered to be comparable between our sample of companies' annual and semi-annual reports from 2008 and 2009 data.

Bakgrund: Operationssalen är en av de miljöer med störst risk att drabbas av patientskada. Olika arbetsmiljöfaktorer beskrivs påverka hälsa hos personal och kan skapa stress som leder till utbrändhet. Stress och bristfällig kommunikation relaterar till sämre fungerande teamarbete, vilket påverkar patientsäkerheten.Syfte: Syftet var att undersöka upplevelser av teamarbete samt hur tillfredsställelse med teamarbete i operationsteam relaterar till upplevda krav och kontroll i arbetet, rollförväntningar, organisationsklimat, självskattad hälsa samt stress (utbrändhet).Metod: En kvantitativ empirisk studie gjordes där data erhölls från en enkät. I urvalet ingick 71 personer som arbetar på en operationsavdelning i södra Sverige, studiens svarsfrekvens var 76%. Kvalitativ innehållsanalys användes för att analysera rapporterade faktorer av betydelse för ett väl fungerande teamarbete.Resultat: Resultatet visade samband mellan tillfredsställelse med teamarbete och rollförväntningar, organisationsklimat samt distansering/minskat engagemang (stress).

Bakgrund: Stress är vanligt förekommande inom vården. Tidigare studier visar att sjuksköterskans arbete påverkas på många olika sätt i en stressad situation, till exempel att val av prioritering eller logiskt tänkande blir försämrat då den kognitiva förmågan försämras under stress.Med patientsäkerhet menas att patienten inte ska drabbas av någon vårdskada i form av fysisk eller psykisk skada under sjukhusvistelsen som kan öka lidandet hos patienten.    Syfte: Syftet var att belysa hur stress påverkar sjuksköterskors arbete för en patientsäker vård.Metod: Ostrukturerad kvalitativ intervjustudie med sex allmänsjuksköterskor. Innehållsanalysen var inspirerad av Graneheim och Lundmans (2004) innehållsanalys.Resultat: Fyra huvudkategorier identifierades och det var göra fel i arbetet, avbrott, svårt att prioritera det viktiga samt slarv i arbetsmoment. Sjuksköterskorna upplevde att stressen störde deras arbete och den säkra vården påverkades negativt, till exempel feladministreringar.Slutsats: Den negativa stressen påverkar sjuksköterskornas arbete för en patientsäker vård. Risken för feladministreringar och minskad patientsäkerhet ökar när sjuksköterskor arbetar i en stressad arbetsmiljö.

Stressymtom hos ungdomar, och bland dem främst unga tjejer, har ökat markant de senaste 20 åren och utgör idag ett stort hälsoproblem. Inom ramen för ett projekt mot stress i gymnasieskolan under år 2006 fick elever med självrapporterade stressymtom prova på metoden expressivt skrivande. Föreliggande studie bygger på det textmaterial som nio ungdomar lämnade in, där tjejer utgjorde en stor majoritet. Syftet med studien var att djupare förstå innebörden av ungdomars stress samt att undersöka hur processen ser ut när de använder metoden expressivt skrivande. Två stora områden som upptog deltagarna var relationer i familjen samt olika former av krav på prestation.

Bakgrund: Psykisk ohälsa har under de senaste åren gått om rörelseorganens sjukdomar som främsta orsak till långtidssjukskrivningar i Sverige. Psykisk ohälsa innebär en försämrad livs­kvalitet för de drabbade och leder till stora samhällskostnader. Forskning krävs för effektivare sjukgymnastiska behandlingsmetoder vid psykisk ohälsa.Syfte: Studiens syfte var att undersöka förändringar avseende ångest, depression, stress och kropps­liga symtom hos patienter som deltagit i gruppbehandling i Basal KroppskännedomTM (BK) i kombination med Mindfulness (MF).Metod: Studien genomfördes med ?single group design?. Mätningar av grad av ångest, depression, stress och kroppsliga symtom utfördes före och efter gruppbehandlingen med formulären HAD, SCL-90 och SCI-93.Sammanlagt behandlades åtta grupper under perioden 2008 ? 2010.

Because of the increasing complexity to operate sport associations some are experiencing serious financial problems. The daily financial work has a major impact on how the future unfolds for the sport associations. An adverse economy not only creates complications in the economic field, it also affects the sport itself. Purpose: Our purpose with this paper is to describe and explain how the economy is controlled in non-profit sport associations and the tool that is used to support this process.

This is an examinaton of welfare officers and patients experiences of a course in mindfulnessbased stressreduction in primary care. The authors used a qualitative method and a phenomenological hermeneutics scientific philosophical position. The analys of the data appeared by using three theoretical perspectives; cognitive, coping and Antonovskys Sence of Coherence. The purpose was to get a deeper understanding of what mindfulness is, how a course in mindfulnessbased stressreduction can be arranged and how it is comprehended by the welfare officers and previous participators of the course. To get an opinion of the issue the authors wanted to know the welfare officers intention of the course, to which patients they provide the course, what the participators thought about their situation before and after the attendence and if they had assimilated the knowledge and if so how it was applicable.

Time has passed since the new standards regarding goodwill were introduced. Duringthe period that occurred pre the financial crisis several companies managed to creategreat goodwill assets on their balance sheet. These assets were highlighted during thefinancial crisis and the aim of this study is to evaluate analysts contemporaryconsideration of these assets. The study will be of interest due to the fact that we nowfind ourselves in-between periods, post financial crisis and pre euro crisis. Ourempirical study has been carried out by interviewing analysts covering IT-companiestraded on the Swedish stock exchange.Our analysts were chosen with consideration to the fact that they were coveringcompanies where acquisitions are common.
