The purpose of this work is to explore the artistic processes of an ensemble where a musician and one or more dancers play together, either by improvising or by interpreting music that is written for the ensemble. The main themes are about finding ways to work with written material and still keep the communication between the music and the dance alive. The author is also interested in finding ways of identifying himself in the medium of dance although he is a musician. The result of this work can be seen in this text and in the attached film material..

This Master?s thesis is the first to quantitatively study the prevalence of library anxiety at a Swedish university. Library anxiety is a concept describing the negative feelings students can experience when using the library. The study was conducted using web questionnaires sent out to 512 students at Växjö university. 38 % responded and the results were analysed with the help of, amongst other methods, correlation studies.

Ever since Thomas More?s book Utopia was published in 1516, theutopian idea has not lost its topicality and has been strongly rootedin literature, art, film and architecture. Utopia can be seen as a statein which utopia allows a space for wishes, dreams and a desire forsomething better. In my degree project I have chosen to explore thehistorical utopian ideas to create a content that treats utopia on asubjective level. With visual communication as a starting point I havetried to fixate this state in a book.

Olika miljöer inbjuder till vissa sätt att föra sig, vissa sätt att välja sina ord och sina samtalsämnen. Det grundläggande syftet med den här studien är att få en fördjupad förståelse för hur en plats påverkar det som är och bildas där: människor, möten och kunskap.Undersökningen är en etnografisk studie som handlar om vad det är som utspelar sig i en bildsal, hur miljön upplevs och erövras av eleverna. Med stöd i kunskapsfilosofiska, i första hand sociokulturella och fenomenologiska teorier, försöker jag att få en större insikt i förutsättningar för lärande, handling, upplevelse och hur platsen inverkar på allt detta.Jag har i uppsatsen arbetat parallellt med text och gestaltning. Mitt material består av intervjuer, fältobservationer och visuellt i form av film, skisser och fotografi. Utgångspunkten i arbetet är att kunskap skapas i mötet och att rummet ger olika möjligheter för aktivitet och möten.Den gestaltande delen av uppsatsen är en undersökning av vad det är som är ett möte och vad dess förutsättningar är.

There is a need for productivities data and data for different types of machines for comminution of logging residues. The lack of data and studies on GROT comminution makes it difficult to evaluate different chains for handling of residue fuels and make system analyses.Four types of machines with three different working principles were compared at six studies during winter conditions. Three to eleven trials during 9.5 to 30.7 minutes were made on each machine. Samples from the produced material at each study were sieved to determine the size distribution of the comminuted material. Samples were also taken from the studies for determination of moisture content.

The purpose of this media scientific study is to contribute to a better understanding about how blind people?s empowerment and participation may affect their role in the digital society.Earlier international studies in this area have shown that blind people not only need more knowledge then the seeing population about the computer, but also about the technology behind their tools for using Internet. The results from these studies have also shown that Internet increases the blind people?s independents and that those who use Internet feel more involved in the society.A qualitative method was chosen to study the three most common categories from the earlier studies: knowledge of technology, empowerment and participation. Are there differences in the results compared to our study in Sweden 2014?Interviews with eight blind, experienced computer users have shown that knowledge of technology is essential for their use of Internet and that the Internet increases their empowerment and their participation.

ABSTRACTBackground: Most cases of lumbar disc herniation are asymptomatic. When symptomatic, LDH may cause a significant physical and mental distress. Initially, most patients are treated conservative but sometimes operations may be required.Aim: The aim of this study was to provide a review of the scientific basis of physiotherapy, including behavioural therapy, as a treatment to lumbar disc herniation regarding pain, function and the size of disc herniation in people suffering from lumbar disc herniation.Method: Four databases were used in the searches of literature. Assessment of the validity of the studies was done with the PEDro-scale and valuation of evidence rate was made according to guidelines made by the Swedish Council on Health Technology Assessment (SBU).Result: Nine RCT-studies were included with a total of 713 participants. The scientific basis is moderate to support a pain reduction and limited regarding improvement of physical function when it comes to physical exercises, including MDT.

Studies among parents of children with disabilities have shown that they experience a higher level of parenting stress as well as a lower degree of wellbeing, compared to parents of children without disabilities. However, there is a need to further explore parents? experience on this matter within a Swedish context. The aim of the current study was to examine how parents of preschool children, with and without disabilities, in Västerbotten, experience the impact of their child. A sample of 67 parents of children with disabilities and 134 parents of children without disabilities took part in the questionnaire study.

Den här uppsatsen handlar om hur film marknadsförs via trailrar, exemplet är filmen Lejonkungen från 1994 och dess uppföljare samt en nyutgåva. Syftet är att undersöka vad det är som hamnar i fokus i filmernas trailrar, vad de har gemensamt och vad som skiljer dem åt, samt hur berättelsen förnyas. Uppsatsen tar upp forskning om high concept, trailrar och Disney för att få en teoretisk grund till analysen av vad som hamnar i huvudsakligt fokus i trailrarna och vad det fyller för funktion. Med hjälp av tidigare forskning och analys av trailrarna undersöker uppsatsen vilka strategier filmskapare använder för att locka en publik att gå och se deras filmer..

Vårt syfte med vårt gestaltande examensarbete är att få svar på hur två 18 åriga tjejer, Minna som läser bild och form på gymnasiet och Miranda som hoppat av skolan upplever/upplevde skolan, hur de ser tillbaka på ett tidigare projektarbete, ?lära på riktigt? som genomförts tillsammans med oss då de gick i niondeklass, samt hur skolan utmanar/utmanat dem. Vi valde att låta vår undersökning resultera i en film. Filmen innehåller dokumenterat material med kvalitativa intervjuer med Minna och Miranda, deras estetiska uttryck samt vår personliga gestaltning av projektet. Genom kvalitativa intervjuer och samtal med informanterna fick vi flera bilder av skolan och vilken inverkan den har/haft på informanternas liv.

The object with the study of this literature was to describe differente programs of care and patients and relatives experience and opinion about the caring for patients with Anorexia Nervosa. The method the author used was a descriptive literature study based on imperial studies. The studies were based on 15 scientific articles within the chosen field. The results shows that these patients hade special needs to be seen and heard as individuals, involved in their own treatment, and have good contact with the caring staff. The study also shows which methods were mostly appreciated involving nurses, patients and relatives.

Animerade filmer görs idag till störst del av stora företag som har en rejäl budget och arbetskraft. Är det möjligt att göra en hel animerad kortfilm ensam med hjälp av endast program som är gratis?. I det här examensarbetet redogörs om det är möjligt att göra en animerad kortfilm helt själv under begränsad tidsram och begränsade förutsättningar. Jämförelser mellan kommersiell programvara och open-source kommer att göras, där programmen jämförs som helhet och i sina individuella funktioner.

Research is a time-consuming endeavor which requires appropriate tools to manage often vast amounts of information. Militarization 2.0 is a research project aiming to explore Militarization in social media. The aim of this project is to design a user interface for supporting researchers in projects involving large amounts of data in qualitative studies. The project will follow the design process of the first version of the Militarization 2.0 research database interface. The design process involves user studies, interviews and design and testing of paper and digital prototypes.
