AbstractThe author Selma Lagerlöf was born in 1858 at Mårbacka, in Värmland and died in 1940. Fifty years after Selma´s death were her correspondence released and ten thousand of letters were found in the collection. But it was just the correspondence between Selma and Sofie Elkan who interested people because they wanted to know if Selma and Sofie have had a sexual relationship. Later, in time for Christmas 2008 the Swedish Television shows a film about Selma. "Selma Lagerlöf Society" was critical to the movie and thougt that the movie focused too much on Selma`s sexual orientation.

There are over 1,5 billion Muslims living on earth and the religion is one of the world´s most increasing. Sweden is a country with a cultural diversity where about 300 000 Muslims lived in 1999. Today, the requirement for knowledge about caring for Muslims and the need of culturally competent nursing care are increasing.The aim of this study was to define cultural factors which the nurse has to recognize to be able to give culturally competent care to the Muslim patient. The method that has been used was a The Sunrise Model, which illustrates Leininger´s theory of culture care diversity and universality, provides a theoretical framework for the study. The results are presented on the basis of Leininger´s three cultural factors; cultural values, beliefs and lifeways.

Art Nouveau var en internationell förnyelserörelse och betecknades som en övergång till det moderna.

Det övergripande syftet med uppsatsen är att söka svar på om det finns några likheter och skillnader mellan kristendoms- och islamundervisningen samt vilka didaktiska val som religionskunskapslärare gör och vilka undervisningsmetoder de anses föredra. För att besvara frågeställningarna har sex kvalitativa intervjuer genomförts med religionskunskapslärare som arbetar både på högstadiet och gymnasiet. Uppsatsen använder sig av Edward Saids postkoloniala teori samt Thomas Englunds utbildningsfilosofier. Vidare kan uppsatsens resultat påvisar att det finns stora likheter mellan kristendoms- och islamundervisningen. Lärarnas didaktiska val i undervisningen styrs av kursmålen och egna samt elevernas intressen.

The purpose of this essay is to investigate the subject field of male vegans and masculinities through empirical method interviews and narrative analysis. The starting-point for this essay is animal ethics, feminist ethic vegetarianism and theories that suggest that eating meat is one part of the social construction of masculinities. The problem formulation is such as follows:How do male vegans construct masculinity? In an attempt to answer such a question there are three problem formulations:What do male vegans think about the connection between manhood and eating meat?How do male vegans relate to the norms in society?What do male vegans think of stereotype conceptions about vegans?I will come to the conclusion that male vegans think that eating meat, as well as drinking beer, is one part of the social construction of masculinities. Male vegans are aware of norms in the surroundings and the strong attachment of meat normativity in the western culture.

Vi har gjort en undersökning om den svenska skolans bemötande av muslimska barns och föräldrars behov. Upplever muslimska barn och föräldrar att deras behov tillgodoses av den svenska skolan? Är vissa behov och diskussioner mer vanligt förekommande än andra? På vilket sätt bemöts de behov och diskussioner som kan uppstå av den svenska skolan?Litteraturdelen behandlar de områden i svensk skola som för vissa muslimer kan komma bli svåra att delta i samt ger exempel på hur lärare kan bemöta detta. Det vi har kommit fram till är att många föräldrar känner bristande engagemang från lärarens håll när det gäller att sätta sig in i olika religioner. Vi har också kunnat se att det inte fanns någon skolplan om hur muslimska barn och föräldrars behov bör bemötas, i kommunen där vi genomförde vår undersökning..

I wanted to focus this essay on the operative?s perspective of running religious organizations in the city of Karlstad and to see positive and negative aspects of their day-to-day life working with their organization, following up with a comparison of the difference and the similarities between those groups. After delimitating which groups I was going to examine, I implemented a qualitative study of four people, from two different religious groups, whom I performed interviews with. My method of performing these interviews and understanding the perspective of the informants, I had a semi structured interview guide along with a recent study that was opting for similar conclusions, only in a different county and with different input perspective. The result of my study showed a difference in establishment of their region but with a lot of similarities in problems with their religious and structural premises.

In 1989 the Cold War ended and in 1991 the Soviet Union ceased to exist, over night the ruling paradigm of International Relations was obsolete. What would happen now? Samuel Huntingtons answer was that in the future, cultural identity would be the most important factor behind international conflict. And that the threat of world war would come from clashes between civilizations instead of clashes between ideologies like during the cold war. Was he correct? This thesis is an attempt to find out if Huntingtons theory was right in its predictions of the world to come.

In this essay I analyze the concepts security and security policy from a critical, feministic point of view. The traditional way of thinking security is state-centred and narrow with its military oriented threatening pictures and solutions.I advocate that the two concepts need a more feministic and holistic approach to be able to cope with the threats of our time and include the security for women explicitly.To suggest how this can be done I introduce a model; security-sphere, which should be seen as a way to constructively connect my objections to the existing research with a new approach to security problems. The security-sphere is based on two analytical parts; the private security sub-sphere and the public security sub-sphere, in order to make new images of security problems visible.It is a fact that most of the threats against women specifically, take place in the private sphere where no traditional analytical tools reach in - these threats have not been seen as 'real' security problems. My aim is therefore to integrate these issues into the agenda of security policy..

I am interested in humans, bodies, movements, directions and how they affect each other. How we move towards each other or away from each other, inside a home or outside. How we relate to each other and to what people say and do. Co-operations between people that occasionally, possibly, do not work; how certain relationships, like certain materials, can have various breaking-points; that materials can be laden with numerous preconceptions, for instance what they should be used for.Beginning from the perspective of a feminist commune, I have explored the concepts of family, belonging, and loneliness. I have interviewed, observed, photographed, and through living in the commune during shorter periods of time, I have taken part in their every-day life.

Sammanfattning:Uppsatsen består av två kvantitativa beräkningar gjorda i sex grammatikböcker ur kurslitteraturen vid Institutionen för nordiska språk, LU. Den första beräkningen utgörs av antalet subjekt i exempelmeningarna med manlig respektive kvinnlig referent. Den andra beräkningen utgörs av de semantiska roller som dessa subjekt innehar i exempelmeningarna. Syftet är att utröna om män representeras oftare än kvinnor i exempelmeningarna, om de är mer aktiva och om män generaliseras till "människor". Min hypotes var att finna att män representeras oftare än kvinnor, men att det förändras över tid, något som också infriades till viss del.Den kvantitativa beräkningen har sedan analyserats kvalitativt med hjälp av en feministisk språkteori för att utröna bakomliggande orsaker till skillnader mellan representationen av män respektive kvinnor.

The purpose of the study was from the perspective of young people that has completed a stay at HVB-home. The respondents are between 15-21 years both boys and girls. The basic questions were: How do the respondents look upon this HVB-homes service process? How do the respondents look upon this HVB-homes service contents? How do the respondents look upon this HVB-homes service regarding available information and how the staff is available? What positive and negative experience do they have from their stay at the HVB-home? We also wish to get a picture of what is important to change to improve the quality on this HVB-home. To receive answers to those questions we formed a questionnaire.

Mitt syfte med detta arbete har varit att försöka ge en beskrivning över vilken relation den konverterade muslimen i Sverige har till Koranen. Jag har valt att försöka belysa detta genom frågeställningen:Hur tillgodogör sig konverterade muslimer i Sverige Koranen?Arbetet är en kvalitativ fallstudie där jag genom fyra djupintervjuer på ett så brett vis jag förmått försökt omfamna de olika uttryck som relationen tar sig. Intervjuerna redovisas som referat i berättande form, och de föregås av en översiktlig beskrivning av Koranen.Arbetet avslutas med en utvärderingsdiskussion där jag konstaterar att arbetet är ofullständigt då jag ej kunnat belysa den företeelse som frågeställning avser på ett begreppsligt vis. I denna studie analyseras funktionen av ordet hen i syfte att undersöka hur ordet används i dag. Hen fungerar som könsneutralt pronomen i svenskan men fyller även andra syntaktiska och könsöverskridande funktioner. Materialet har analyserats med en kvantitativ ansats och består av texter från dagspress där de olika förekomsterna av hen har kategoriserats efter funktion och texttyp. Uppsatsens avsnitt om teori behandlar språkplanering, feministisk språkplanering och hens uppkomst. Resultatet visar att hen främst fyller syntaktiska funktioner i dagspress, där 143 av 167 förekomster av ordet användes i funktioner som i den här studien kategoriserats som syntaktiska.
