This essay is about gender equality in a Swedish upper secondary school. The aim is twofold: to obtain knowledge about feminism, gender equality, boys´ and girls´ situations in schools and gender equality work there; and to find out if government management documents for schools work effectively when it comes to promoting gender equality in schools. There are four research questions: How do teachers interpret what´s said in management documents for schools? What strategies do teachers use to promote gender equality? What opportunities and obstacles do teachers see for promoting gender equality at the specific school? And, finally, do the management documents for the school work effectively when it comes to promoting gender equality?The study has a socialist feminist perspective, which sees gender differences as a result of a mix of biological, historical and social factors. Important theoretical standpoints include gender socialization as an explanation for how girls and boys become women and men.The results of the study points out that teachers interpret management documents differently, and that they find the documents hard to understand.

The main purpose of this thesis is to analyze laws that completely prohibit abortion through a legal philosophical perspective. To demonstrate that abortion blanket bans cannot be seen as legally legitimate, the author has completed a literature study where she uses Robert Alexy?s ?Concept of Law? to analyze abortion laws both in general, and in Nicaragua in particular.Based upon Alexy?s ?Concept of Law? the author has identified three relevant key elements ? social efficacy, the argument from injustice and correctness of content - which she uses in her analysis. In order to apply these three elements on the total abortion ban, she then uses four different analysis tools - feminist theory, Human Rights, deontology analysis and right analysis. This has enabled a thorough analysis of the total ban on abortion that has demonstrates that such laws cannot be considered legitimate.By highlighting the human rights violations the law entails, one can conclude that the law has a social impact.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka kommunikationen mellan skaparen av ett verk och betraktaren vad avser kyrklig, monumental konst. Med andra ord vill jag beskriva kyrkobesökarens tolkning av verket, ställt mot konstnärens avsikt. I detta syfte gör jag en fallstudie, en analys av altarfresken Kristi återkomst, vilken finns i Kastlösa kyrka och är utförd av Waldemar Lorentzon 1953-1954.Min metod är att ställa en beskrivning av hur fresken tolkas av mig själv utan föregående specialstudier (receptionen) mot en rekonstruktion av Lorentzons avsikter med verket (intentionen). Den första delen görs som en semiotisk analys. Den andra delen innehåller bl a studier av Lorentzons bibelstöd för fresken, en genomgång av texter av personer som talat med Lorentzon, en jämförelse med Lorentzons målning i Ryssby kyrka samt vidare en analys av skisser till fresken.

Birgitta Stenberg?s autobiographical novel Kärlek i Europa was published in 1981. It takes placein the fifties and is written in a genre popular in Sweden during the seventies, the feministconfession novel. The genre had a strong political purpose, by way of sharing experiences ofliving as a woman in a patriarchal society the aim was to raise consciousness of oppression andmake way for liberation and sisterhood. But there was not room for everyone in the feministstruggle.

The aim of this thesis is to examine interactivity in the context of performance-based interactive art. The questions asked are: what are the conditions of interactivity, how interactivity happens, and what artistic results it may yield. The method is an analysis based on close studies of three performance-based interactive artworks by applying theories of interactivity, audience participation, and collaboration.First, current theories are outlined, after which, the three artworks are introduced in detail. Next, the artworks are examined, thematically rather than individually, expanding on parameters such as the degree of artistic direction of the artwork, the degree of agency allowed to the spectator in their interaction with the work, and the idea of the ?passive? spectator as being ?activated? by interactive art.

The purpose of this thesis is to, based on interviews and document studies, critically discuss how the introduction of kickboxing in Physical Education (PE) could affect gender equality in society. Based on a queer feminist and norm critical perspective on the prevailing teaching of PE, which, despite official efforts to challenge and modernize PE, persists in reproducing gender norms by e.g. spending 75% of class time on ball games. The hypothesis is that girls accessing violence (empowerment) through a bodily awareness in the form of kickboxing, positively would challenge the power imbalance that gender norms create. Girls are brought up, even today, in accordance with gender norms arguing against girls/women wanting to use their bodies as powerful tools to set limits.

The purpose of this study has been to look into and analyze the view on sex equality in textbooks and teaching media, and teaching of a group of upper secondary school teachers, through a gender perspective. The teachers teach subjects within social- and political science. The two questions that I wanted to answer are: What views do the teachers have on sex equality in their teaching? What views do the teachers have on sex equality in the teaching media (textbooks and other teacher media) which they have access to? Since I wanted to look into the teachers own views I chose unstructured interviews as the method of gather empirical information. To interpret the transcribed texts I chose the hermeneutic view of people as intentional.

Särskilda undervisningsgrupper för elever med Aspergers syndrom har under 2000?talet vuxit fram både i grund- och gymnasieskolan, trots en nationell vision om en skola för alla. Detta framgår i Skolverkets rapport (2009)Skolan och Aspergers syndrom ? Erfarenheter från skolpersonal och forskare. Syftet med den här studien är att belysa hur ungdomar med diagnosen Aspergers syndrom beskriver sina skolerfarenheter utifrån villkor och möjligheter till lärande och utveckling samt belysa vilka generella och specifika pedagogiska implikationer som framträder ur ungdomarnas erfarenheter.Studien är en kvalitativ studie med en fenomenologisk utgångspunkt vilken studerar individers perspektiv på sin inre värld.

The purpose of this master's thesis is to examine children's communication and interaction during story time at the public library. The aim is also to examine how to develop the story time ? in terms of participation and equality ? at a specific library.Action research was used as a research strategy and participant observation, log, tutoring and interviews as methods to collect data. Since action research is done on the basis of practice, a significant collaboration with the librarian and the participant children is taking place within this study.Research from the fields of Library and Information Science, Education and Childhood Sociology form the interdisciplinary research area to which this study links. The theoretical framework consists of theory and concepts from the Socio-cultural Perspective, Poststrucuralist Feminism and Childhood Sociology.

Denna uppsats undersöker dekadensens betydelse för Klas Östergrens generationsroman Gentlemen (1980). Syftet är dels att uppmärksamma ett hittills förbisett författarskap, dels att applicera en teori som kan belysa Gentlemen. Frågeställningen utgår därmed ifrån hur dekadensen återspeglas i romanens huvudkaraktärsskildringar, samhällsstämningar och form.Uppsatsens dekadensdefinition grundar sig i Paul Bourgets Théorie de la decadence (1883), där han skildrar samhällets, individens och språkets förfall. Utifrån dessa tankar antar jag en bred dekadensdefinition som fokuserar människans ambivalens inför att leva i en värdemässigt förfallen värld. The paper's purpose has evolved during the process of researching and writing it. In the beginning it was to investigate if art and culture could increase the strength and knowledge of a brand and if there existed a knowledge about this amongst Swedish companies, situated in Stockholm. During the process the purpose has evolved into exploring the type of companies that acknowledge this and those that don't. By using Bourdieu's terminology and tools, the reasons behind the use of art has been analyzed.The paper employs an explorative approach by accessing data through interviews and public data provided by the Internet through web pages and government files.The paper comes to the conclusion that what Holt calls cultural branding has not evolved, when looking at the companies that are accurate for this study. Out of 24 companies only one comes close to observing socio cultural movements through the arts.

Abstrakt För att utveckla och förändra spelmediet behandlar detta arbete impressionism och digitala spel. Båda ämnena diskuteras och belyses från olika vinklar för att undersöka hur de två ämnena kan sammanföras i en spelproduktion. Spelproduktionen har testats av spelstudenter för att få deras åsikter om hur spelet fungerar och deras syn på kopplingen mellan impressionism och digitala spel. Arbetet avslutas med en diskussion och slutsats där alla fakta som tagits in under kandidat-arbetet analyserats. I diskussionen lyfts följande ämnen fram: impressionism, konst, hur spelmediet ser ut idag, tv- och dataspelsgestaltning, interaktion och hur dessa två ämnen, impressionism och digitala spel kan föras samman.

Joymusic i särskolan - om förmågan att delta i musicerandet, av Lindie Boström och Elin Grunditz, är en studie inom ramen för Lärarprogrammet i ämnet musik vid Luleå tekniska universitet, Institutionen för konst, kommunikation och lärande i Piteå. I denna uppsats studeras hur Joymusic kan påverka/förändra musikundervisningen i särskolan. Efter att vid olika tillfällen befunnit oss i musiksammanhang med barn och ungdomar med funktionsnedsättning men väljer vi att rikta in vår undersökning på det teknologiska musikhjälpmedlet Joymusic. Joymusic är ett program som möjliggör och ökar förutsättningarna att kunna musicera för människor med funktionsnedsättningar. Studien genomförs i form av aktionsforskning på två olika grundsärskolor med elever från högstadiet.

Med utgångspunkt i närläsning av två samtida konstnärliga verk, eget gestaltande arbete samt med stöd av valda teorier vill jag undersöka hur samtidskonsten utmanar stereotypa representationer. Syftet med arbetet är att se hur konst kan laborera med vedertagna och stereotypa uttryck och hur dessa kan avslöja värderingar och normer. Det didaktiska syftet är att erbjuda exempel med vilka man kan synliggöra dessa föreställningar. Mitt föreslagna exempel visar på arbete med bildtolkning och eget konstnärligt gestaltande. Uppsatsen behandlar alltså vanliga och förhoppningsvis angelägna frågor med fokus på visuella och språkliga representationer.Jag använder mig av teorier som de flesta är förankrade i det postkoloniala fältet och närmar mig begrepp som kulturell identitet, stereotypi och semiotik.

The right wing party the Sweden Democrats is through their conservative and nationalist approach and socio-political heritage, connected to various extreme-right populist movements, which have all been in conflict with different branches of feminism. This connection is argued for in relation to the research survey. The party has likewise been accused of pursuing misogynistic, homophobic and racist politics, but differ from its ideological peers due to their outspoken equality policy. The party shows strong rejection of discrimination based on gender, sexual orientation or geographical, religious or ethnical background. In the analysis chapter of this study, texts produced by members of the party are analyzed by means of parts of Karlberg and Mral?s rhetoric analysis method, aiming to clarify what ideals of family and the roles within it are being constructed.
