Background: Osteoarthritis is understood to be a common cause of pain and dysfunction in cats; however there are few validated pain assessment methods for chronic pain in cats. In order to design a proper pain questionnaire, it usability need to be tested in both sound and sick cats. Aim: The aim was to investigate the usability of the pain questionnaire ?Lifestyle changes in cats? by compiling the results from the pain questionnaire reflecting the lifestyle in 30 healthy cats and compare it to the results from a clinical examination, as well as proposing improvements and additions to the questionnaire based on a literature review. Material and method: 30 healthy cats participated in the pilot study; the pet owner filled out a pain questionnaire with 16 questions regarding their cat´s behavioral and eventual changes in behavior and physical function. Thereafter the cat walked over a pressure measurement mat and finally underwent an orthopedic-directed clinical examination. The literature was found on Web of Knowledge, PubMed, Sciencedirect, and Google Scholar and also with the help of my supervisors.

By choosing to expose their products in blogs, companies use a medium that blog readers are familiar with and can relate to, and can thereby solicit customers for their products and brands.We will examine whether product placements in fashion blogs are an effective way for businesses to market themselves and their products. We measure this efficiency, by keeping a record of the sales of ten product placed garment and accessories that we have selected from four of the largest blogs in Sweden. The stores we examine sales of product placed goods in are volume brand stores such as Zara and H&M etcetera.

The overall aim was to examine how the public interest to protect children from violence and sexual abuse at home, is realized by social workers. The study´s central focus was the risk assessments as Social services are obliged to do when they receive a report containing concern that children are being exposed to violence or sexual abuse at home. The study addresses the following questions:o How do social workers go about practically, and what support and knowledge is being used to determine whether the Social services need to intervene for the protection of a child?o What risk and protective factors are taken into account by social workers in the assessment process?o What contextual factors do social workers experience are affecting them in the assessment process?o Which support does the documentation system BBIC provide in the assessment process?The study material was collected through qualitative group interviews, with a modified vignette methodology as tools. The study included a total of twelve social workers, with varying numbers in each interview group.

Equine gestation exhibits some rather unique features, indicating a somewhat different significance of the endocrine changes associated with HPA maturation, compared to many other species. This hormonal cascade is rapid and confined to a narrow time during late gestation in the horse, and the risk of the foal completely missing it therefore becomes prominent. Induced parturition in the mare may be operated through uterotonic agents, which occasionally bring about premature foals. Desirable seems the ability to initiate equine labour while simultaneously enhancing fetal HPA maturation, as in humans and ruminants through perinatal glucocorticoid administration. Kvinnlig könsstympning uppmärksammades i västvärlden på 1970-talet då invandringen till väst från länder där könsstympning praktiseras ökade. När Waris Dirie gav ut sin självbiografiska bok En blomma i Afrikas öken 1999 kom könsstympning åter på tapeten. Eftersom könsstympning är en sedvänja som praktiserats i tusentals år världen över och fortfarande utövas i flera länder idag, väcktes ett intresse att ta reda på omständigheterna kring fenomenet. Vart, hur och varför uppstod denna till synes inhumana och irrationella sedvänja och hur kommer det sig att den lever kvar än idag? Vilka bakomliggande faktorer finns? Bakgrund: The Female Athlete Triad är ett syndrom som kan drabba idrottare med ett för lågt energiintag i relation till en hög energiförbrukning från fysisk aktivitet. Triaden består av tre komponenter, energitillgänglighet, menstruationsfunktion samt benhälsa. Idrottare som drabbas av syndromet hamnar i riskzonen för stressfrakturer och osteoporos.Syfte: Att undersöka om en grupp kvinnliga simmare intar en adekvat mängd energi för att möta sitt energibehov och säkerställa en adekvat energitillgänglighet. Studien syftar även till att undersöka simmarnas livsmedelsval och undersöka en eventuell förekomst av amenorré.Metod: Studien är en kvantitativ studie med tvärsnittsdesign. 16 deltagare rekryterades från två simsällskap genom ett bekvämlighetsurval, varav 12 deltagare fullföljde studien.

In the light of ever increasing international trade around the globe, affecting men and women in all countries, it is surprising that so little attention is given its gender effects. The effects of trade are said to be gender neutral, but could potentially act reinforcing on the existing gender patterns in a society. The aim of this thesis is to examine whether the implications for men and women in relation to trade liberalization can be found to differ. By stylizing some differences between men and women, this is done by examining the theoretical implications mainly via the Heckscher-Ohlin model and through a Beckerian approach. The implications found are then compared with the findings in existing empirical work.

När det på 1990-talet uppmärksammades att barn kunde utsätta andra barn för sexuella övergrepp stod behandlingspersonal handfallna. Detta var något som det aldrig tidigare pratats om och ingen visste hur man egentligen skulle tackla problemet. Tack vare Rädda Barnen, Börje Svensson och Anders Nyman kunde ett behandlingsarbete utvecklas. Svensson och Nyman startade upp Rädda Barnens Pojkmottagning och tog emot både flickor och pojkar med sexuella problembeteenden. Efter att denna målgrupp uppmärksammades började så sakterliga utvecklingen av behandlingsmodeller.

This study aimed to find out whether or not gender related theories regarding the division between men and women can be applied to three novels written by Katrina von Bredow, Syskonkärlek (1991), Som jag vill vara (2007) and Flyga högt (2011). The theories used in this research were Yvonne Hirdman?s theory and R.W Connell?s theory. Hirdman claims that there are differences between men and women at different levels in the society while Connell believes that this is a myth because, according to the writer, men and women are psychologically similar. The intent with this research was to provide a gender analysis of Bredows novels, because these novels have not been studied previously.

Syftet är att undersöka informanternas egna tankar, reflektioner och upplevelser av vad de läser och delar med sig av på Facebook. Det vi vill undersöka är användandet av artiklar som opinionsbildande material - så som krönikor, debattinlägg och nyheter. Fokus ligger på att försöka se hur informanternas förhållande till deras åsikter och värderingar påverkas av vad de läser och delar på Facebook, samt hur och varför de använder sig av delningar.Vi har genomfört sex stycken kvalitativa intervjuer med informanter mellan 25-38 år, både kvinnor och män. De övergripande frågeställningar vi ville besvara var; Varför väljer informanten att läsa artiklar på Facebook? Varför väljer informanten att dela/dela vidare på Facebook? Hur ser relationen ut mellan de delningar informanten gör och informantens åsikter?För analysen har vi främst använt oss av teorierna Uses & Gratifications, som vi hämtat från Lee & Ma (2012), samt Kang et al (2013) för att förklara motivet till delningar och Nyhetsvärdering som baseras på Galtung och Ruge´s kriterier för nyhetsvärdering, för att förklara vad de läser.

Syftet är därför att beskriva män som drabbats av prostatacancer och genomgått radikal prostatektomi, samt drabbats av biverkningarna impotens och/eller urininkontinens, upplever och hanterar sin förändrade livssituation Studien använder sig av metoden analys av kvalitativa artiklar vilket innebär att djupare analysera artiklar som belyser männens upplevelser. Artiklarna söktes fram i databaser och granskas med tanke på innehåll och kvalité.

We conduct this analys by first reading through random seleceted ?Rocky? books and present some of the comic strips where men and women interact with each other or discuss the opposite sex..
