 The english name of this essay is ?One man among many women?. This essay takes its starting point in the situation today with few male teachers in the earlier years of elementary school. I have decided to look at the small group of males that actually started the education to become teachers and why they did it when the profession as teacher today is low-paid, low status and is a profession with a large dominance of female teachers. I have chosen to write about this because of the importance for the children to meet both men and women as teachers in the early schoolyears.

 Our study aims at investigating the unit manager?s, within LSS, perceiveddiscretion, when people with Down´s syndrome develop Alzheimer?s disease. We wanted to know what they perceive as limiting factors or facilitators in order to meet changing and/or emerging needs, as well as how they interpret their discretion in relation to this. We have conducted semi-structured qualitative interviews with five unit mangers within LSS.When analyzing the interview material, we have used a theoretical approach from a street-level bureaucracy and from the unit managers? perceiveddiscretion point of view.Our study?s result demonstrate that the unit managers are experiencing a wide discretion and do not feel a need to widen their identifieddiscretion..

Kvinnlig könsstympning : Hur kvinnlig könsstympning kan förklaras och förstås som ett sociologiskt fenomen.

Kvinnlig könsstympning uppmärksammades i västvärlden på 1970-talet då invandringen till väst från länder där könsstympning praktiseras ökade. När Waris Dirie gav ut sin självbiografiska bok En blomma i Afrikas öken 1999 kom könsstympning åter på tapeten. Eftersom könsstympning är en sedvänja som praktiserats i tusentals år världen över och fortfarande utövas i flera länder idag, väcktes ett intresse att ta reda på omständigheterna kring fenomenet. Vart, hur och varför uppstod denna till synes inhumana och irrationella sedvänja och hur kommer det sig att den lever kvar än idag? Vilka bakomliggande faktorer finns? Hur hänger könsstympning ihop med religion, kultur, genus, makt och så vidare?Eftersom det verkade handla om ett mycket komplext fenomen togs beslutet att syftet skulle vara ganska brett och omfattande.

Utveckling av simuleringsspel för internutbildning inom callcenters

Examensarbetet utfördes på uppdrag av Qsurvey och syftar till att utveckla ett simuleringsspel som kan användas vid internutbildning inom callcenterbranschen. I arbetet har specifika problem och frågeställningar för callcenterindustri studerats. I utvecklingsarbetet med simuleringsspelet har hänsyn tagits till callcenterbranschens karaktär, både vad gäller resurser och statistik har inspiration hämtats från verkliga callcenters. Huvudsyftet med programmet är att belysa callcenterbranschens karaktär och visa på vilken typ av frågeställningar en callcentermanager vanligen ställs inför.Arbetet resulterade i en testad mjukvara. Användaren av spelet har till sitt förfogande information och funktionalitet liknande det som en callcenter- manager besitter..

Energitillgänglighet hos en grupp kvinnliga simmare : En studie med utgångspunkt i The Female Athlete Triad

Bakgrund: The Female Athlete Triad är ett syndrom som kan drabba idrottare med ett för lågt energiintag i relation till en hög energiförbrukning från fysisk aktivitet. Triaden består av tre komponenter, energitillgänglighet, menstruationsfunktion samt benhälsa. Idrottare som drabbas av syndromet hamnar i riskzonen för stressfrakturer och osteoporos.Syfte: Att undersöka om en grupp kvinnliga simmare intar en adekvat mängd energi för att möta sitt energibehov och säkerställa en adekvat energitillgänglighet. Studien syftar även till att undersöka simmarnas livsmedelsval och undersöka en eventuell förekomst av amenorré.Metod: Studien är en kvantitativ studie med tvärsnittsdesign. 16 deltagare rekryterades från två simsällskap genom ett bekvämlighetsurval, varav 12 deltagare fullföljde studien.

Effekter av ökad internationell handel på kvinnor kontra män

In the light of ever increasing international trade around the globe, affecting men and women in all countries, it is surprising that so little attention is given its gender effects. The effects of trade are said to be gender neutral, but could potentially act reinforcing on the existing gender patterns in a society. The aim of this thesis is to examine whether the implications for men and women in relation to trade liberalization can be found to differ. By stylizing some differences between men and women, this is done by examining the theoretical implications mainly via the Heckscher-Ohlin model and through a Beckerian approach. The implications found are then compared with the findings in existing empirical work.

This study aimed to find out whether or not gender related theories regarding the division between men and women can be applied to three novels written by Katrina von Bredow, Syskonkärlek (1991), Som jag vill vara (2007) and Flyga högt (2011). The theories used in this research were Yvonne Hirdman?s theory and R.W Connell?s theory. Hirdman claims that there are differences between men and women at different levels in the society while Connell believes that this is a myth because, according to the writer, men and women are psychologically similar. The intent with this research was to provide a gender analysis of Bredows novels, because these novels have not been studied previously.

Skanska Asphalt which is a part of Skanska Sverige AB has noticed that there are significant cost savings to be made with the purchasing of transports. The transports in this case is about asphalt, where the costs are about 10% of the outsourcing business turnover. The purpose of this thesis is to study the working practice that Skanska Asphalt are using today in controlling and time-writing, for the asphalt transportations. Resulting in recommendations on how to improve the working practice at Skanska Asphalt.This study was conducted with the help of a number of interviews with Skanska?s employees and with suppliers of transportation to describe the practices which are being used in during the asphalt transportation.

Stress i socialt arbete : om socialarbetares upplevelser och hantering av stress i sitt arbete.

The purpose of this study is to use a qualitative approach to get an understanding of what is expected of social workers targeted towards women managers in social services. Nine social workers were interviewed. The empirical data was then analyzed on the basis of gender theory. Respondents did not see their supervisor as a manager but more as a social worker with special tasks. Our empirical data indicates that there is a strong belief that men and women possess different properties.

How are they apprehended by customers of the company? What are Prime Cares own thoughts behind the channels? How does Prime Cares self-image correspond to the way that customers apprehend the company?Material/Method: Twenty interviews has been done with different customers of Prime Care in order to see how the company and its communication flow is apprehended. A consultant manager of Prime Care has also been asked about purposes behind the companies external communication channels in order to enable a comparison between Prime Cares image and profile. Prime Cares website, one of their mail sendouts, their salescalls, salesvisits and their exhibition participation have been studied on the basis of relevant litterature. Maletzkes model of mass communication was used as a general view of communication flow.Main results: All communication channels included in this study have different ways of function even though they all have the same main purpose, videlicet to promote the company, to inform about its activities and to recruit new customers and consultants.
