Empowerment i hemtjänsten : Fallstudie inom hemtjänsten i Reykjavík

I många år har det stått klart att på grund av ökning av antalet äldre kommer det blir svårt med framtida bemanning i hemtjänsten. Arbeten anses vara låg status och underbetalda. Om arbeten i hemtjänsten anses ge anställda upplevelser av empowerment är det möjligt att flera söker sig till dessa arbeten och att befintlig personal stannar kvar.Syftet med denna uppsats är att få ökad förståelse för hur personal i hemtjänst upplever empowerment i sitt arbete samt att studera på vilket sätt ledare inom hemtjänsten kan arbeta med att stödja upplevelser av empowerment hos sina anställda. Undersökningen är genomförd som en kvalitativ fallstudie i hemtjänsten i Reykjavík. Med semistrukturerade intervjuer har sex anställda och tre ledare intervjuats och materialet har analyserats med en tematisk analys.Det visar sig att de anställda i hemtjänsten i Reykjavík upplever delvis strukturell empowerment i sina arbeten samt pyskologisk empowerment genom alla fyra kognitionerna; mening, kompetens, självbestämmande och påverkan. Ledarna stödjer personalens upplevelser av empowerment genom tillit, respekt och värdighet samt tillåtelse att göra misstag..

Hur "empowerment" kan fungera i en organisation

"Empowerment" är ett omskrivet fenomen som utlovar många positiva effekter som motivation, ökat initiativtagande, ansvar, kreativitet, lärande, arbetsoptimism samt självförtroende för att klara sina arbetsuppgifter. "Empowerment" främjar organisationer genom att minska rädsla för förändringar samt underlättar samarbete, under förutsättning att "empowerment" används effektivt. "Empowerment" har dock även enligt litteraturen sidoeffekter. Denna uppsats ämnar ge inblick i hur "empowerment" kan fungera i en organisation. Min frågeställning är hur "empowerment" kan fungera ute i organisationer för att dra lärdom av både vad som är positiv och negativt.

?Här hämtar man kraft? : en kvalitativ studie om kvinnors upplevelser av deltagande i Qvinnoqulan, ett projekt för kvinnor på väg ur missbruk

The purpose of this study was to increase the knowledge and understanding of what impact support-groups, such as represented by Qvinnoqulan, can have on women with drug-addiction. The questions at issue for the essay was: How does a selection of women who participate in Qvinnoqulan describe their thoughts, experiences and reflections of the group? What sense has Qvinnoqulan made for the women on a personal level and for contributing to live a life without drugs? To answer the questions a qualitative method was used and five interviews were made with women who participated in the activities of Qvinnoqulan. To analyze the data a social constructionist perspective and an empowerment perspective was used. The result of the study showed that the women were in the process of rebuilding a new life without drugs and reconstructing a new identity.

Fria tyglar? - En fallstudie om kopplingen mellan empowerment och arbetsengagemang på Scandic

Idag används empowerment av olika serviceföretag för att förbättra gästens upplevda servicekvalitet och för att skapa ökat engagemang och självförtroende hos de anställda. Det sägs finnas ett gap i den upplevda servicekvaliteten mellan olika aktörer i ett servicemöte, det vill säga mellan gästen, frontpersonalen och företagets ledning. Utifrån detta resonemang frågar vi oss om det kan finnas ett gap i hur empowerment och engagemang förstås i olika hierarkiska nivåer. Genom att undersöka empowerment och dess koppling till engagemang bland frontpersonal upp till högsta cheferna på Scandic har vi sett både skillnader och likheter i deras syn på dessa begrepp..

Kvinnliga studenters alkoholvanor : På Linnéuniversitetet i Kalmar

As the title reveals this is a study of female college students alcohol habits in Kalmar,Sweden. During the spring of 2012 a total of 118 female students at Linnaeus universityanswered a survey about their alcohol habits. The survey reveled that as many as 67%percent of the answering female students (according to Audit) have risky drinking habits.The drinking habits are explained using Albert Banduras social learning theory in contextto the Scandinavian drinking pattern. The study concludes that female alcohol habits needeven further research. Furthermore the study shows that student initiation have an impacton the female drinking habits and that expectations of that students drink are to some extentimportant to the development of hazardous drinking habits..

Underliv och överordning ? En diskursanalys om motståndsaktivisternas tal om kvinnlig könsstympning/omskärelse i Tanzania

The aim of this study is to analyze the discourses of activists who work against female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C) in Tanzania. The study focus on the discourses that arise during interviews about FGM/C with five activists. To examine this we asked the following questions: What discourses are presented in the interviews? How do these discourses interact together ? are there any discourse conflicts? How do the activists talk about FGM/C in comparison to our western view? The study is based on discourse theory. We also use feminism and postcolonialism as theories in our analyze.

Our purpose concerns attitudes towards female leadership in Moscow, Russia. This thesis was based on two study methods, qualitative interviews and observations.

Vårdpersonalens skattning av strukturell empowerment och arbetstillfredsställelse samt reliabilitetstestning av instrumentet CWEQ.???

Tidigare studier har visat att bristen på strukturell empowerment på vårdavdelning ofta leder till försämrad personalhälsa, sämre arbetsmiljö och mindre samarbete med kollegor samt högre grad av utmattningssymtom. Syftet med studien var att beskriva vårdpersonalens upplevelse av strukturell empowerment vid en akut kirurg- och ortopedavdelning, samt att undersöka om det finns några skillnader mellan sjuksköterskors och undersköterskors skattning av strukturell empowerment. Ytterligare ett syfte var att beskriva vårdpersonalens upplevelse av arbetstillfredsställelse samt att reliabilitetstesta ett instrument som mäter strukturell empowerment. Data gällande strukturell empowerment samlades in med instrumentet Condition of Work Effectiveness Questionnaire (CWEQ och CWEQ II) och data gällande arbetstillfredsställelse samlades in med en studiespecifik fråga. Femtioen enkäter delades ut, 43 personer svarade vid första mätningen och 39 personer vid andra mätningen.

Empowerment: ett flytande begrepp?

The purpose of this study was to analyse the concept of empowerment and its meaning in the political document "En Förnyad Folkhälsopolitik" from the present Swedish government, containing guidelines and politics in the area of public health. The underlying question was if it could be considered as representative for some kind of general "empowerment approach" since the concept is central to the very definition of social work by the International Federation of Social Workers IFSW and International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW).By comparing its definition and consequences in the document with a historical review of different contexts of empowerment the conclusion was made that such a common approach doesn´t exist at all. The meaning of empowerment in the central document showed some similarities with the "northamerican" version of the concept represented by the social scientist Charles Murray, which is just one of the political meanings of empowerment. Alternative ways of understanding the concept was also presented such as being a tool of a constant conflict between central political principles or as a fashionable but not important word. Jana Sanskriti  Forumteater, en väg att skapa empowerment?  : en etnografisk studie

Uppsatsen har som syfte att utifrån Jana Sanskritis arbete, lyfta upp och diskutera forumteaterns möjligheter att skapa empowerment hos deltagarna. Jana Sanskriti är både en teatergrupp och en rörelse i nordöstra Indien som arbetar med forumteater i den Västbengaliska landsbygden, utifrån en övertygelse att forumteater är en metod som möjliggör en frigörelse från förtryck.   Uppsatsens frågeställningar är: Hur arbetar Jana Sanskriti? Hur kan man skapa empowerment med forumteater som metod? På vilket/vilka sätt stödjer forumteatermetoden skapandet av empowerment för deltagarna?  Studien har en etnografisk ansats. Genom fältstudier hos Jana Sanskriti och en diskussion runt gruppens återkommande arbete i byarna med samma forumteaterföreställning har begreppet empowerment belysts.   Fokus har riktats på föreställningen Shonar Meye som handlar om mäns våld mot kvinnor.  I resultatdelen presenteras Jana Sanskritis arbete, där det också fram- kommer att det är gruppens återkommande besök i byarna med samma  forumteaterföreställning som är den enskilt största faktorn till skapandet av empowerment. .

Kvinnlig representation och dess substantiella effekter En studie om svenska kommuners flyktingmottagande utifrån ett könsperspektiv

Municipalities with a higher amount of female representatives has been shown to be more gender equal. Earlier reasearch has also shown that female politicians are more likely than male politicans to represent immigrants and refugees interests. However, the effect of female representation has not been tested on other subordinated groups than women. Swedish municipalities have full autonomy regarding refugee reception and local politicians are responsible for the decision on the amount of refugees that the municipality accept. The variations of female and male politicians in the local assemblies are expected to have different outcomes on the refugee reception, according to females social backgrounds and experiences.

?Transformell, transaktionell och laissez-faire ledarskapsstil : en kvantitativ studie gällande manliga och kvinnliga chefer

The aim of this study was to see if there existed any differences between male and female superiors. The theoretical framework was based on transformational, transactional and laissez-faire leaderships styles. The sample was employees in three companys (n=24). Three hypothesis were formulated: (1) female superiors are more transformational than male, (2) male superiors are more transactional than female and (3) male superiors are more laissez-faire than felmale. The method of measurement was a modified version of the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire.
