Cultural bias in health assessment has been asserted in various scientific reports. The aim of this study was to determine whether ethnicity effects how patients are represented in such medical certificates that are needed to obtain a certain Swedish social insurance. The setting was an analysis of 18 medical certificates for patients whose parents were born in Sweden, respectively of 18 medical certificates of patients whose parents immigrated to Sweden from non European countries. The main objective was comparison of the two groups to test for ethnical heteronormative representations of the patients and their parents. The method used is mainly based on critical discourse analysis in combination with Fowlers (1996) semantic tools used to decipher disparity in the discourse.

The aim of this essay is to get a deeper understanding of a teachers' profession and to get knowledge of how earlier experiences can influence you as a teacher. I have interviewed a female teacher, Pia to get this understanding. As a tool to get the teacher's whole story I used the life story method. In her profession she is influenced by her own importance of security as a child.Her own needs of security has given her an deeper understanding for pupils like herself during the childhood; insecure and afraid. Her understanding for all kinds of behavior among the children has increased by her own experiences.The story shows that Pia is frustrated by the fact that she can't control her own working time.

I vårt arbete har vi valt att inrikta oss på förhållandet mellan offret och förövaren när det gäller grova gärningar som mord, övergrepp och misshandel. Vår frågeställning är om det är möjligt att förlåta onda gärningar fullt ut? Kan ett offer förlåta en förövare fullt ut som genom sina onda handlingar har orsakat offret lidande? Finns det någon rättvisa med tanke på den obalans som uppstår genom ondskefulla gärningar. Vi har valt att utgå ifrån rättvise teorin eftersom samhället har en rättvisa som grund när det gäller brott och straff.

AbstractThis thesis discusses and analyses a 19th century female author's vanishing from history. The study investigates social relationships as figured and described in the epistolary form, based on letters between the author herself and different members of her family. It also tries to identify the author's position and situation in her time and society according to important themes and motifs in her novels. The main purpose is not to reconstruct history, but rather to show the many complex histories that can also be described, apart from the simplified and generalized one. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva omvårdnadspersonalens upplevelser av att bli utsatt för aggressivitet. Studien baserades på åtta publicerade vetenskapliga artiklar som analyserades med kvalitativ innehållsanalys med manifest ansats. Analysen resulterade i fyra kategorier: Hotets karaktär och den rädsla, oro och frustration det väckte: Osäkerhet och bristande kunskap att möta hotet: Otrygghet på grund av bristande skyddsåtgärder: Brist på samarbete och förtroende. Studien visar hur en aggressiv situation kan tas i uttryck och vilka faktorer som bidrar till uppkomsten av ett aggressivt beteende, samt hur patientkontakten försämras och hur påfrestande det är att bli involverad i en incident. Omvårdnad bygger på en god relation med vårdtagaren och den är svår att upprätthålla om det finns hot och aggressivitet i relationen.

This essay discusses sentiments underlying choices to sing in women's choir. The focus is on the female choir La Cappella from Uppsala, which is run at a professional level to constitute one of the premier choirs in the country. The La Cappella members and their conductor participated in a survey with questions about how they view their own role as a singer or conductor in a choir. The questions that this paper is based on are the following: Why choose to sing in the choir? How do the Community and the social network between women affect their decision to sing in a women´s choir? Has the sound of the chorus played an important role in the choice of choir? The purpose of this study is to analyze how homosexuality is portrayed in young- adult novels. I use books published in Sweden from 1977- 2003. Three of the books have female main characters and the other three have male main characters. My purpose is therefore to compare the different results between the sexes.I will examine and discuss the homosexuality in the novels with focus on the homosexual identity of the young characters and how it is formed. I relate the results to a queer discussion about identity.

Assessing and measuring post-operative pain in all animals is a challenge, but doing it in small mammals, for example guinea pigs, presents an even larger difficulty. Validated pain scales developed for use in dogs in clinical practice are currently available, but no such scale has been widely accepted for use in guinea pigs in the veterinary setting. In this experimental study, six guinea pigs that had undergone surgery and anaesthesia were observed for behavioural changes that could be associated with pain. The six guinea pigs were also given pain scores with the use of Colorado State University Feline Acute Pain Scale (CSU-APSF), a scale which uses both behaviour when not handled, body tension and response to palpation to evaluate pain intensity. The six guinea pigs showed a number of different behaviours, for example rigid posture, fixed stare and ?wet dog response? (the body is vigourosly shaken), that could be associated with pain.

The purpose of this essay was to examine the experience of the judicial process concerning domestic violence from the perspectives of abused females and from some of the authorities and organisations which meet these women. The essay investigated several views of the judicial process in order to obtain a wide perspective. It responded to the following questions:- How are abused women treated by the authorities and organisations?- Are there enough resources and knowledge among the authorities and organisations?- Is there any collaboration between the authorities and organisations which the female meets in the judicial process and if so, how does it look like?- What does the aspect of security of person look like for the women which have been exposed to domestic violence?- What in the judicial process is important for the women's ability to move on in her life after experiences of violence in a relationship?This study was based on a qualitative method, where the interviews constituted of empirical material. The essay was based on interviews with two females who have experiences of violence in a relationship, two social workers from Kvinnojouren in Lund, two social workers from Kriscentrum in Lund, one lawyer, one prosecutor, one policeman and one social worker from Kvinnoforum in Lund.

Bakgrund: Ett gäng definieras som en grupp människor vilka medverkar i kriminell aktivitet och har minst en gemensam symbol som definierar dem. Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats var att genom noggranna analyser av tidigare genomförda studier kring ungdomsgäng belysa ungdomsgäng som ett fenomen i dagens samhälle. Metod: Forskningsöversikten baserades på tretton vetenskapliga artiklar. Innehållsanalysen av artiklarna resulterade i fyra teman. Resultat: Huvudfynden i studien är att gängmedlemmarna ofta är marginaliserade ungdomar.

The number of women in Swedish firms of accountant is not lower then the number of men, but when we compared the number of chartered auditors, the number of women are low compared to men. This is connected to the public debate that is mainly emphasising that there are no differences between men and women and therefore the sexes should be treated equal. The method used is a qualitative study and the primary data was collected through interviews. The respondents consist of members, women as well as men, from eighteen auditors in Malmö and Kristianstad. The result shows that both male and female characters are needed in the work on the firm of accountants.

This thesis aims to investigate and discuss the possibility for women in the early Christian church to make music, which in the ancient Roman society was something complicated. Afemale musician was looked upon as decadent and dissolute. This idea, in combination with the music ideals of the church influenced by the Neoplatonic movement, and the Pauline statement (1 Cor. 14:34-36), cast women to be completely prohibited in participating even in the psalmody during the service. My purpose is to discuss how this was looked upon in different Christian regions, using the church fathers as the main material source, since this has not previously been well documented or studied..

Djuren som ingår i dessa hägn lever ofta på en större yta, och kan få en utvecklad och mer komplex social berikning som kan leda till en ökad aktivitet och högre välfärd. Dock finns risker som bör beaktas; dels för fysiska skador orsakade direkt eller indirekt av aggression mellan och inom arterna, dels stressproblem och risk för smittspridning. Ur djurparkens och dess besökares perspektiv finns också både för- och nackdelar. För djurparken kan samgång både lösa och skapa problem med oönskade beteenden av olika slag, och samgångshägn kräver generellt mer arbete både i planerings- och skötselstadiet.
