Background: BreastFeeding frequency decrease in Sweden and infants born preterm is a particularly vulnerable group to not be breastfed according to current recommendations. Mothers of preterm infants have an extra need of support from the health care system. Mothers' self-efficacy in breastFeeding affects the outcome of breastFeeding. Health professionals' attitudes to breastFeeding have an impact on the breast Feeding support they provide to the mothers.Aim: To investigate whether an intervention could strengthen self-efficacy in breastFeeding among mothers of premature babies. A further aim was to investigate whether the intervention influenced health professionals' attitudes to breastFeeding.Method/Design: An experimental study with quantitative approach in the form of questionnaire survey was conducted.
Abstract The aim with this study was to find out how far we have come to develop reproduction strategies in eel culturing.
The importance of Yeheb (Cordeauxia edulis) for Somali livestock production and its effects on body tissues when fed to Swedish domestic goats
This master thesis was conducted in order to investigate the effects of the browsing
species Yeheb on animal tissues in Swedish landrace goats and to make a literature
review in order to increase the knowledge of the importance of this plant for livestock
production in Somalia. The evergreen Yeheb bush is a very important Feeding source for
grazing and browsing animals in Somalia during the dry period. Yeheb contains
cordeauxiaquinone that stains the bones of the animals red/pink, which has been an
increasing problem when exporting meat to foreign countries. In an experiment, two
goats were fed dry and fresh leaves from the Yeheb bush for one and two months,
respectively. The goats did not feed the intended amount of dry leaves, since the supply
and palatability was not as high as estimated.
Benthic invertebrates play important roles as Feeding resources for many organisms in different food webs. Shifts in predation of these organisms can generate cascading effects and potentially lead to the disappearance of one or more species from a site. Cascading effects can bring impacts to organisms who aren?t even directly involved, why studies in this field are important for understanding sudden changes in ecosystems. I examined the predation from fish and waterfowl on benthic invertebrates in the shallow and eutrophic Lake Tåkern in the plains of Östergötland County, southern Sweden.
The influence of active bomas on habitat choice of the common warthog (Phacochoerus africanus)
The common warthog (Phachocoerus africanus) is a relatively long-legged pig with noticeable curved tusks, a short neck and three pairs of facial warts. It has four recognized subspecies. The common warthog is a non-migratory ungulate living on the African savannah. It is a hindgut fermenter and predominantly dependent on high-quality foods. It prefers open areas for grazing but use bushes for cover.

Jämförelse mellan renskötsel och betesbaserad fårskötsel
This essay describes and compares the extensive reindeer management to the more intensive, but grazing based, sheep management system in Sweden. Differences and similarities between the two production systems will be investigated by elucidating the economy, land use and possibilities to influence production and economy through breeding, Feeding and product development. The reindeer management area covers the northern part of Sweden whilst the sheep management is dispersed over the country. Both reindeer and sheep are ruminants and have relatively high demands on the quality and digestibility of the feed however reindeers graze on mountain-and forest lands whilst sheep often graze inaccessible areas or cultivated grasslands. Selection intensity is generally lower in the reindeer management compared to the intensity in sheep breeding.
Analys av hemområdesstorlek hos mellansvenska vildsvin (Sus scrofa scrofa)
The wild boar population grows rapidly in number in Sweden, and it has been predicted that the annual number of shot wild boar will soon exceed the cull of moose. According to estimates, the Swedish population encompassed some 150 000 individuals in 2010. The mean annual harvest has increased by 30% since 1990, indicating that the wild boar is a species we must learn to manage sustainably. A successful management of the boars aims for a population in balance with agriculture and traffic, and also provides good hunting opportunities. For this to be possible, understandings of several aspects of the ecology of wild boar is needed.
The sows in this study had an average homerange of 707 hectares during summer, and 659 hectares in winter.
Hägnutnyttjande hos Aldabrasköldpaddor (Geochelone gigantea) på Parken Zoo
Reptiles are animals than have been neglected in the research for all times. Some people have the opinion that these animals have fewer needs and demand less from their caretakers. The Aldabra Giant Tortoise lives on the Aldabra atoll outside the coast of Tanzania. The Aldabra tortoise population has varied throughout the years, but today the population is around 100.000 animals.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the enclosure utilization of two Aldabra tortoises, a male and a female, at Parken Zoo in Eskilstuna, Sweden.

Orust Kretsloppsakademi is a nonprofit organisation, with a goal of annually generate the same amount of electrical energy that is consumed. Orust is an island on the west coast of Sweden, north of Gothenburg. The population of 15 000 reaches 40 000 during summer, due to the large amount of vacationer. The total electricity demand is 174 GWh a year with a maximum power need of 32 MW. This report presents an analysis for the plausibility of their plan and from a power system stability perspective, the effects on the electrical grid. The conclusion is that the restraints for development of power generation from wind, solar and wave generation, are the power systems capability to transfer power, primarily in the transformers of the grid.
Today it is common to have adult horses stabled for most of the day. This limits the horses? ability to perform some of their natural behaviors such as foraging and movement. The purpose of this review was to compare the feral horses? diurnal rhythm and time budget with stabled horses.
