This Master's thesis discusses the freedom of speech, the right to freedom of opinion and expression, freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas in the context of public libraries in Sweden. The scope of this thesis is to examine the acquisition and maintenance of the literature about the killing of Sweden's Prime Minister Olof Palme 1986. This literature will serve as an instrument to measure the extent to which Swedish public libraries adhere to the rules set by the Swedish parliament, United Nations' universal declaration of human rights article 19, UNESCO's public library manifesto and the principles of the Federation of Library Associations and Institutions..

År 1991 utbröt inbördeskriget i forna Jugoslavien. Kriget pågick fram till 1995. Följderna blev många civila offer, separerade familjer och hundratusentals flyktingar. Till Sverige kom under och efter kriget flyktingar från bland annat Kroatien, Bosnien-Hercegovina och Serbien. Många av flyktingarna var kraftigt traumatiserade av kriget i hemlandet.

The majority of the Swedish population were self-provided within agriculture a hundred years ago. Times do change and today the situation is the other way around - most of us live within city boundaries and only few work with farming and related agricultural businesses. One thing that has not changed though, is the need of supplies from Swedish agriculture.What do we think of those products? Are we even aware of the connection between us and agriculture? The Federation of Swedish Farmers, LRF (Lantbrukarnas riksförbund), started their project to strengthen the link between consumers and producers in 2008.This paper is part of the project and its aim is to investigate consumers' views and values upon the effects and products from Swedish agriculture.Opinions and values have been studied through interviews influenced by phenomenology. The results show that the informants in general had a positive approach and thinking concerning the products and effects from Swedish agriculture.

Den här uppsatsen syftar till att beskriva hur en federation fattar beslut och arbetar med strategier och visioner. En fallstudie har gjorts på Länsförsäkringar för att jämföra hur beslutsvägar ser ut och hur förankrade strategier och visioner är i verksamheten. Resultatet av studien visar på att det finns en väl beskriven form för beslutsvägar och beslutsforum. Dock är dessa vägar och forum relativt sett okända i verksamheten vad gäller deras syften och innehåll. Strategier och vision vet de flesta i organisationen att de finns och arbete bedrivs löpande med dessa som grund.

Det råder delade meningar om hur den Europeiska unionen kommer att utvecklas i framtiden. Skeptiker menar att den kommer utvecklas i riktning mot en federation och undergräva medlemsstaternas suveränitet, medan andra menar att det europeiska samarbetet främst är en frihandelsförening. Syftet med min uppsats är att undersöka hur det inom EU:s institutioner resoneras kring frågor rörande EU:s framtida integration, samt kring frågor rörande demokrati. Det material jag analyserar är ett urval av EU-dokument, där jag med kvalitativ textanalys, utifrån ett teoretiskt ramverk bestående av tre stycken integrationsteorier, försöker förstå hur EU:s institutioner ser på unionens framtida integration samt frågor rörande demokrati. Resultatet av undersökningen gav en mångfacetterad bild av hur det resoneras kring dessa frågor på högsta EU-nivå.

Syftet med föreliggande studie är att utveckla förståelse om hur en grupp vuxna flyktingar från Bosnien-Hercegovina har motiverats till högskolestudier i Sverige och hur högskoleutbildningen har förändrat deras tillvaro. Studien fokuserar på en grupp flyktingar som kom till Sverige på 1990-talet och kort därefter bestämde sig för att investera i högskoleutbildning. Fem personer intervjuades och deras berättelser analyserades och tolkades utifrån en narrativ ansats. Studiens resultat visar att det finns ett antal faktorer som är viktiga för informanternas val att studera på högskola. Dessa är: bekräftelse från omgivningen, tillräckliga språkkunskaper och trygg ekonomi.

The aim of this study has been to investigate the views concerning the sharing of music files over the Internet as expressed by some of the parties engaged in the current debate in Sweden concerning these issues. The purpose of this study has also been to scrutinize the views about music filesharing as expressed by the parties in question, as well as the conclusions possible to extrapolate from these opinions. The method used to gather information from the parties subjected to this study has been by conducting and recording interviews with representatives from the organizations and companies entities in question. Those entities are: the Record Company Sony/BMG, The Swedish branch of the organization IFPI International Federation of the Phonographic Industry and the Swedish organization the Pirate Bureau. The method used to analyze the empirically gathered material has been inspired by a method common in the discipline of philosophy of education known as Phenomenography.

Att många barn världen över mist rätten till sitt biologiska hushåll och att flera befarar att hamna i samma situation är ingen nyhet. I Bosnien- Hercegovina råder en kaotisk efterkrigstid som satt sina spår på familjebanden. Detta i form av att gemenskapen familjemedlemmar emellan blir allt svagare eller löses upp. För två år sedan byggdes ett Familjecenter för stigmatiserade familjer vars mål är att stärka familjeband och ge hushållets medlemmar ny hopp. Jag blev väldigt nyfiken på detta Center speciellt eftersom det var så annorlunda från andra Sociala Välfärdscenter i staden.

This study was commissioned by the Västerbotten sports federation, whocalled for an overview of the policies that the municipalities inVästerbotten work after in the field of sport. The study aimed to identifysports policy programs or documents that have been produced by themunicipalities, and how they work with them. Furthermore, the studyhighlights the municipality?s politicians reasoning aboutsport andrecreation-sector,and how their sport policy-work was practiced. The datacollection was based on seven interviews and document-collections fromthe 15 municipalities.

How can you do a right measurement of culture as well as with other social sectors and with what can culture contribute when it comes to a town´s development? We found out that in Linköping the regional federation Ostsam recently (2005) started mapping the region's creative centers in order to look into the spreading of the culture in the county, and then use the uniqueness of the culture as an advantage in society- planning contexts. The reason was that both municipal - and State directions detected that the culture has a broader importance when it comes to building up society and infrastructure than earlier considered. This is called Cultural planning and is the foundation- method that Östsam used when working with their new projekt The creative sector. The outcome of the Östsam study resulted in an exciting study basis to work further on with and to examine through own demarcations and directions.This research manages the matter of the creative sector as an extension to the cultural sector.

The purpose of this study is to investigate if reconciliation between former war-enemies and ethnic groups (Muslims, Croats and Serbs) in Bosnia and Hercegovina is possible today. Reconciliation between these groups is necessary for the development of the state and sustainable peace. In order to fulfil the aim I have applied qualitative conversation interviews together with qualitative literature study.In this research I have studied the three largest parties (SDA, HDZ and SDS) in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Conversation interviews were made with two representatives of each party. The reconciliation theory and the recommendations that the theory advocates were used in the study.

The purpose of this research was to examine the current field of management in non-profit organizations, mainly focusing on managerial approaches, but also the impact of organizational size on the shaping of governance. Non-profits are widely discussed in contemporary research, particularly due to the increasing external pressure on voluntary organization to professionalize the way they work in line with standards in the private sector. Due to this our thesis aims to investigate whether professional, bureaucratic approaches are useful when governing a non-profit organization, or if social structures are enough to ensure goal congruence and efficiency. To conduct this research qualitative interviews were carried out and a case- study was made, using the Swedish Karate Federation as object of study. Results show that formal and more professional structures are useable to achieve efficiency and prevent inertia within the organization.

Total amount of words: 15 269.In this essay, the purpose is to examine the personalization of Swedish national coaches during international championships in the Swedish tabloids. Research shows that a leader nowadays is representative for her organization. Therefore it could be assumed that the way the national coach is portrayed can have some kind of effect on the public opinion about the team as a unit and their sport federation in total. This essay is a quantitative study of the sport tabloids Sportbladet och SPORT-Expressen during three international championships: Euro 2012 in football, WC 2013 in ice hockey and Euro 2014 in handball. We have studied the coverage of the national coaches Erik Hamrén, Pär Mårts and Ola Lindgren/Staffan Olsson in contrast to the coverage of their teams in total.The main results are that the national coaches are mentioned in every second article that is written about the national teams during the championships. They are mainly portrayed in a neutral way, even though the coverage of them is affected by the results in the matches.

The purpose of this study was to analyse the concept of empowerment and its meaning in the political document "En Förnyad Folkhälsopolitik" from the present Swedish government, containing guidelines and politics in the area of public health. The underlying question was if it could be considered as representative for some kind of general "empowerment approach" since the concept is central to the very definition of social work by the International Federation of Social Workers IFSW and International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW).By comparing its definition and consequences in the document with a historical review of different contexts of empowerment the conclusion was made that such a common approach doesn´t exist at all. The meaning of empowerment in the central document showed some similarities with the "northamerican" version of the concept represented by the social scientist Charles Murray, which is just one of the political meanings of empowerment. Alternative ways of understanding the concept was also presented such as being a tool of a constant conflict between central political principles or as a fashionable but not important word. Another alternative was to consider it a means of power through witch different political discourses tries to dominate the world..

Federationen Jugoslaviens splittring medförde att de fem republikerna: Serbien & Montenegro, Kroatien, Bosnien-Hercegovina, Slovenien och Makedonien som ingick i federationen blev självständiga stater. Detta medförde att människorna fick en ny identitet. Jag har gjort en studie omfattade tolv intervjuer. Jag ville få reda på om det finns konflikter mellan de tre etniska tillhörigheterna som drabbades hårdast under kriget, vilka var serber, kroater och bosnier. Jag sammankopplade det empiriska materialet som jag har fått fram genom en kvalitativ metod där intervjuer är min utgångspunkt med relevanta teorier.
