Workplace accidents in Sweden have in recent years increased. Companies are at the same time putting a greater emphasis on preventing accidents and inform about safety and risks. Therefore there is a need to know how to visualize this safety information. This study is based on a part of a project proposed by the industrial company AB Wahlquists VerkstÀder, in which they want to visualize their safety information for new employees and existing staff, and also for temporary contractors and apprentices. The purpose of this study is to see what is required of the visualization of safety information and what guidelines that should be followed.

Energy efficiency is important both to reduce costs and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the atmosphere. Reducing costs will also help maintain business competitiveness.Scania in SödertÀlje is a company where the optimization of energy use is an ongoing and continual process. One area with potential to make energy and cost savings is the effectiveness of the ventilation systems in offices and industrial premises at Scania. During the summer months an increased demand for cooling occurs, leading to increased ventilation and a peak in district cooling system usage. Sorptive cooling is a technology where the supplied air is cooled by applying external heat.

Syftet med uppsatsen Àr att ge en teoretisk bakgrund för att försöka förstÄ dagens agerande och förhÄllningssÀtt till Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) samt att utreda vad företag köper nÀr de integrerar CSR i sitt arbete. För att försöka förstÄ agerande och förhÄllningssÀtt till CSR tydliggörs köpbeslutsprocessen och anvÀndbarheten i traditionella modeller diskuteras. Utredningen har genomförts med en abduktiv ansats och via en explorativ, genom i huvudsak semistrukturerade intervjuer. Slutsatsen prÀglas av att företaget frÀmst köper intressentrelaterad nytta genom CSR, att det finns en trend mot icke-kommersiella syften med CSR och att traditionella modeller kan anvÀndas, dock inte för en fullstÀndig bild. Uppsatsen relaterar i analys och slutsats till frivilligorganisationen Hungerprojektet.

Because of the development of information technology, the Industrial society has been left behind in favor of a society where information is the key production factor, i.e. the Information society. In the Information society, social functions and processes are organized in networks. These networks integrate geographically separate markets to parts of a complex global economic system.

TÀtbebyggda omrÄden bidrar ocksÄ till ökade flöden eftersom andelen hÄrdgjorda ytor ökar nÀr tÀtorterna expanderar eller förtÀtas. HÄrdgjorda ytor hindrar vattnets naturliga infiltration i marken.

Syftet med arbetet Àr att simulera tÀvlingar pÄ medeldistans mellan löpare med en strategi att vinna och undvika muskeltrötthet. Löparna ses som agenter vars strategi realiseras med ett artificiellt neuronnÀt (ANN) som med sensorer, avstÄnd till mÄl och agentens trötthet berÀknar bidragande kraft och styrriktning. Agentens ANN trÀnas med en belöningsbaserad inlÀrning baserad pÄ genetiska algoritmer och trötthetsalgoritmen Àr en uppskattning av hur mjölksyra pÄverkar muskeltrötthet.Resultaten visar att av alla agenter som utvecklats för tÀvling mot klockan i s.k. time trial har alla haft samma strategi och hittat samma ideala kraft för att minimera tiden. Utvecklingen av agenter för simulation av flera agenter samtidigt har varit mer komplicerad eftersom agenterna pÄverkar varandra och agenternas strategi har varit olika.

This report discusses developing a software log tool for analysis of industrial processes. The target was to develop software that can help electro Engineers for monitor and fault finding in industrial processes. The tool is called PLS (Process log server), and is developed in Visual Studio.NET Framework 2005. PLS works as a client with Beijer Electronics OPC Server. The program is able to read data from PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), trough the OPC Server.

On the first of October 2012 the media reported that the women in the Ikea cataloguehad been airbrushed in the Saudi edition. Initially the blame was put on either theSaudi government the Islamic culture or the Saudi franchise. In the end it wasrevealed that the Swedish company Inter Ikea Systems had the full responsibility forIkeas actions and therefore was the culprit behind the airbrushing. On whoseinitiative or why the airbrushing was done the media never found out. These areanswers only Ikea has, although they remain unresponsive to these questionsthroughout the news portrayal.This study methodology uses a qualitative content analysis as framework to furtherinvestigate the news media with support of theoretical perspectives such as mediatheory, power relations and cultural differences.

Old industrial sites bear witness of the unsustainable industrial developments in the past. Today many of them stand abandoned and empty, old structures lacking function in our present society. We have in this thesis participated in a visionary student competition arranged by IFLA, International Federation of Landscape Architecture by developing a proposal based on a vision of how Stockholm can stimulate a greener development. We have done this by turning an unsustainable industrial site in the city into an ecological node; Arboretum Lövholmen. Our aim is to develop an entry for IFLA?s visionary student competition by creating a new sustainable design for the industrial area of Lövholmen in Stockholm. We have worked with the following research questions: How can we create a visionary design proposal for Lövholmen that promotes sustainable development with the help of ecological design? How can the competition format be a design tool? How can the working process developing a competition entry progress? The competition demands have shaped our working process and functioned as a platform for the structure of this thesis.

Since the beginning of the new millennium, China has opened itself to the outside world and in an enormous pace increased its contacts and relationships with other countries. The trigger to these dramatic changes of economic and foreign policies is the insight that China can no longer sustain its rapid economic growth, largely based on industrial production, on energy and raw materials from China alone.Good relations with African countries have been of highest priority in China?s strategy of ?Going global?. The new African policy is based on the two principles of mutual benefit and non-interference in internal affairs ? as opposite to the West?s strategy of structural adjustment programmes (SAP), which include massive interference in internal affairs.

Declining union memberships are a fact in both Sweden and Finland. At the same time, the autonomous labour market parties and the high membership rates are the most significant factors for the two countries compared to Europe and the rest of the world. These two factors have in turn been developed and strengthened since the beginning of the twentieth century. By autonomous labour market parties I refer to the fact that the labour market parties themselves through collective bargaining are agreeing on the labour market conditions, without interference from the government.This paper is therefore taking it's stance in the question of what happens with the autonomous labour market parties when the membership rates are in decline. With this in mind, this paper describes the judicial development, the collective agreement and labour market structures, the legal consequences of collective agreements and the opportunities of industrial and sympathy action in both Sweden and Finland. The two countries' systems of labour law have caught some negative attention, hence two of the most discussed cases of recent years are given some attention as well. The collective judicial conditions are very similar in both Sweden and Finland regarding the labour market main actors' collaboration, the collective agreement structures and legal consequences and the opportunities of industrial and sympathy action.

År efter Ă„r indikerar mĂ€tningar att strategiverktyg anvĂ€nds ute i företag samtidigt som strategiverktyg kritiseras för att inte vara tillĂ€mpbara för praktiker. Studiens litteraturgranskning visar att tidigare forskning brister i att ge tillrĂ€ckligt med informationom inom det hĂ€r omrĂ„det och att det empiriska underlaget Ă€r otillrĂ€ckligt för att förstĂ„ den hĂ€r problematiken. En anledning till det Ă€r att den etablerade strategiforskningen har utgĂ„tt frĂ„n traditionella utgĂ„ngspunkter nĂ€r de har studerat vem som anvĂ€nder strategiverktyg och var i organisationen de anvĂ€nds vilket har inneburit att de endast intresserat sig för att studera företagens ledningsgrupper eller betrakta företaget som en anonym enhet. Konsekvenserna av detta Ă€r att forskare vet vĂ€ldigt lite om vem förutom företagsledning som egentligen anvĂ€nder strategiverktyg och framförallt saknas det kunskap om hur verktygen anvĂ€nds. Det behövs alltsĂ„ mer forskning om hur strategiverktyg anvĂ€nds utanför företagsledningen pĂ„ mellanchefs- och regionsnivĂ„.

This final thesis is initiated by the wood fuel department at the Swedish forest company Sveaskog as part of a project which also involves two other final thesises. The overall goal of the project is to investigate SveaskogÂŽs possibilities to produce and sell different wood fuel assortments in VĂ€sterbotten and the southern parts of Norrland. The aim of this thesis is to investigate how much wood fuel Sveaskog can produce in the area during the next five years and what that would cost. Furthermore the thesis will investigate the total possible supply of wood fuel from all other possible producers in the area. Treated assortments are forest residues from final fellings, whole trees from direct wood fuel thinnings, non industrial wood and industrial by-products from sawmills. The main effort to investigate SveaskogÂŽs production possibilities has been made to calculate the possible annual amount of forest residues and fuel from wood fuel thinnings that can be produced.
