In Sweden between 800.000 and 900.000 people have some kind of alcohol related addiction. Each and everyone are expected to have three relatives who in some way are involved in the abuser´s way of life. The consequences of living close to someone with an abuse of alcohol is described as a chaotic life with extreme emotional stress, fear and anger.The aim with our essay has been to look into how social workers are describing their work, from the relatives´ point of view. We also wanted to understand how the relatives´ situation can be. We reached our aim through interviews with social workers and by literature studies.The primary conclusion of the essay is that the dominating theory is that addiction is an illness.

Introduktion: Majoriteten av tester inom ishockeyn utförs off-ice vilket kan begränsa testresultatets applicerbarhet till on-ice prestation, på grund av brist på sportspecificitet. Ishockey har karaktäriserats som en intermittent kontaktsport, med högintensiv skridskoåkning som förutsätter snabb acceleration, förändringar i hastighet och riktningsförändringar. Syfte: Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka om ett bra resultat på det löpningsbaserade Coopertestet (CT) överensstämmer med ett bra resultat på det mer idrottsspecifika 30-15 Intermittent Ice Test (30-15IIT) hos manliga juniorishockeyspelare. Metod: Manliga juniorspelare i olika åldrar som går på ett certifierat elithockeygymnasium deltog i studien. Resultaten från ett CT och ett 30-15IIT samlades in.

Detta kandidatexamensarbete handlar om en konstruktion av ett säkerhetsystem för tåg med fokus på programmering av systemet. Programmeringen görs genom att använda realtidsoperativsystemet ?C/OS-II som idag är en av världens mest kända och använda för mikrokontrollers. Programmet laddas sedan ner till en mikrokontroll för att testas. Användningen av ?C/OS-II blir också syftet av detta arbete då jag vill visa hur användbar den är.Rapporten börjar med att beskriva de olika komponenter som ingår i tågsystemet och fortsätter genom att ta upp det programmeringskod som är det viktiga i detta arbete.

The Sweden Democrats uses a term to describe a situation where ?swedes? are being discriminated against by other ethnic groups and where the elite is promoting this. The term ?svenskfientlighet? can be translated as ?swedofobia? and in this thesis a speech by the party leader Jimmie Åkesson held during the election campaign that solely was dedicated to this term is being analyzed with the help of tools developed by the scholar Ruth Wodak. Ruth Wodak has previously analyzed the rhetoric by other European right-wing-populist parties like FPÖ in Austria and has asked for other researchers to analyze the speech used by right-wing-populist and extremist parties to get a better understanding for just how these parties construct their different enemies.

Studien avser att studera effekterna av arbetsplatsförlagd fysisk träning 2 x 60 minuter/vecka i 7 veckor hos personer med stillasittande arbete påVO2max, rörlighet, uthållighetsstyrka och kroppssammansättning. Vi använder oss av en kvantitativ metod som består av datainsamling genom tester före och efter träningsperioden för både interventionsgruppen (n=25) och kontrollgruppen (n=11). Resultaten visar på signifikanta skillnader hos interventionsgruppen på variablerna VO2max (p=0), visceralt fett (p=0,001), fettmassa (p=0,001), vikt (p=0.006), Body Mass Index, BMI (p=0,005), uthållighetsstyrka enligt Sörensens isometriska uthållighetstest (SIU) (p=0) och Trunk Curl Static Endurance test (TCST) (p=0,045), rörlighet i halsrygg (p=0,010) och rörlighet i hamstringsmuskulatur via Sit and reach test (p=0).  Inga skillnader ses i blodtryck och, skelettmuskelmassa i armar, bål och ben. Inga signifikanta skillnader ses hos kontrollgruppen oavsett variabel. Slutsatser av studien är att man kan se effekter genom denna typ av intervention på flera olika variabler och förslag till framtida forskning är att försöka utesluta samverkan av andra faktorer för att ge en mer exakt bild av den fysiska träningens effekter på arbetsplatsförlagd träning..

The use of vision applications are growing and the demand for integration and connectivity with other industrial automation control devices is increasing. Some businesses that are using vision technology follow US Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) regulation concerning audit trail. This thesis investigates the possibility to use vision technology for counting objects, achieving connectivity and to follow FDAs audit trail regulation. A market survey has been used to select suitable hardware and software to be used in the design of an application that is able to count objects and that uses standard industrial network connection i.e. OPC data access and Microsoft?s .NET components over Ethernet.

Aim: The aim of this study was to compare how patients with diabetes type 2 self-estimate their self-consciousness, problem identification, stress management and the willingness to change before and after a daycare week. The aim was also to compare if the value on HbA1c have changed after the daycare week compared to before.Method: A total of 60 patients who recived offer to participate in a daycare week at a clinic on a university hospital in Sweden. Patients replied a form (SWE-DES-SF-10) before (n=60) and three months after (n=35) the daycare week. They also left a blood sample for HbA1c before (n=60) and three months after (n=42) the daycare week. The forms and HbA1c-values were analyzed using wilcoxon´s signed-rank test and paired t-test. Results: After the daycare week estimated the participating patiens their self-consciousness and problem identification higher than before the daycare week.

En stor del av befolkningen har en hörselnedsättning men långt ifrån alla som skulle kunna dra nytta av hörselhjälpmedel söker vård i tid. Det finns ett behov av att kunna göra ett snabbt och enkelt screening-test hemifrån och i flera andra europeiska länder har det för det ändamålet tagits fram telefon- och Internetbaserade hörseltest av tresiffertyp. Dessa tester spelar upp tre inlästa siffror samtidigt som ett störande brus-ljud och en adaptiv metod används för att automatiskt uppskatta testpersonens genomsnittliga, uppfattbara signal-brus-förhållande. Studier har visat att förmågan att urskilja tal i brus försämras för personer med hörselnedsättning och att den absoluta uppspelningsvolymen inte spelar väsentlig roll så länge ljudet är klart hörbart. Ett svenskt talmaterial för ett sådant test har tagits fram inom EU-projektet HearCom. Syftet med examensarbetet var att implementera och validera en funktionell och prisvärd lösning i samarbete med en aktör inom telekommunikationsbranschen. Efter en upphandlingsprocess valdes ett Linux-baserat system med den öppna telefonserver-programvaran Asterisk. En normalstudie genomfördes där resultaten pekar på att det utvecklade testet är jämförbart med liknande test i andra länder.

Abstract The purpose of this essay is to compare the integration policy between Socialdemokraterna, Moderaterna and Sverigedemokraterna with focus on labor-market integration, housing segregation and language knowledge. The international immigration has in recent years increased significantly and this has also enriched the receiving countries and still the numbers of extreme right parties have increased. In Sweden a racist populist party, Sverigedemokraterna, are only a few steps away from entering the parliament. The question in focus is: What differences or similarities are there between the integration politics between Moderaterna, Socialdemokraterna and Sverigedemokraterna with focus on the areas housing, work and language?  By applying the theoretical framework to the data, I have been able to present answers and build up an analysis. The study concludes that there are more similarities than differences in the integration policy between Moderaterna and Socialdemokraterna.

Travel literature and especially the ?adventure story? has excited young British boys for over two centuries. However, it has also been a vehicle for the assertion of male dominance and European supremacy. The story of a British man who goes to the colonies, performs some test which is essentially a test of his manliness, and whose compulsory victory marks the end of the book, has been a central myth in colonial masculinity.Through looking at three Anglo-Saxon male travel writers from the 20th century, this essay aims to study the different ways in which Western male identity is shaped against an Indian background. The novels analysed are Topee and Turban or Here and There in India by H.A.

This paper aims to present a theoretical understanding of the emergence of extreme right- wing populist parties (ERP), and more specifically the electoral breakthrough of the ERP party, Sverigedemokraterna in the municipality of Karlskrona. By doing so the study is constructed as a theoretical framework, where the empirical material and the theoretical aspects are interwoven. This means that the theoretical framework also functions as an analytical part. The paper shows how Sverigedemokraterna could be understood as an ERP party, based on e.g its populist anti-establishment critique, and its critique towards the ?immigrant issue?.

Detta examensarbete har utförts i samarbete med Permobil AB. Det ursprungliga målet med arbetet var att göra ett antal mätningar på elektriska rullstolar, för att om möjligt kunna komma fram till en repeterbar metod för att exempelvis kunna jämföra olika motoralternativ på en rullstol eller jämföra dom egna rullstolarna mot konkurrenternas på ett rättvist sätt. Efter att ha granskat och testat den utrustning som fanns tillgänglig på Permobils designavdelning så kom vi fram till att vi var tvungna att utöka målet med arbetet till att även omfatta konstruktion av ett mer avancerat mätsystem än det befintliga. Det som arbetet till slut kom att omfatta och som även denna rapport behandlar, är alltså test och utvärdering av befintlig utrustning, konstruktion och test av ny utrustning samt en serie mätningar som gjorts på olika rullstolar för att ta fram en repeterbar mätmetod. Denna rapport riktar sig främst till personer med åtminstone grundläggande kunskaper i elektronik och mätteknik..

Male violence against women in close relations has in recent years received increased attention, however, only identified as a problem in approximately 40 years. It is now a social problem that is constantly increasing, but the identification of the phenomenon has been possible thanks to the research on the subject. The purpose of this study is to, from a woman's own story, identify psychological processes in connection with the assault. The aim is also to confirm previous research on the phases of the abused go through until decampment and identify possible consequences of violence against women. I also aim to answer the question regarding the assistance of individuals in extreme situations while getting back to society.

Eutrophication has been a problem in aquatic systems for a long time. It is well known that the key nutrient to control the eutrophication process is phosphorus. Lately, it has been possible to reverse the process and recover lakes from eutrophication.During a long time Lake Näsnaren in Katrineholms kommun, Södermanland, has been exposed of a large amount of phosphorus from the city's wastewater. The lake has a great value as a habitat of rare species but also a high recreation value for people living in Katrineholm and Södermanland. Lake Näsnaren is situated in a Natura 2000 area.

Studiens syfte är att validera ett ledarskapstest (TKB) som för närvarande är under utveckling. Testet mäter ledares kognitioner, emotioner och beteenden i mötessituationer. De 65 respondenterna var alla verksamma som arbetsledare, mellanchef eller chef på högre nivå och bestod av 33 män och 32 kvinnor i olika åldersgrupper och branscher. En jämförelse gjordes mellan TKB-testet och Gordons test samt med skattningar utifrån utförda intervjuer. TKB-testets variabler jämfördes även med olika bakgrundsfaktorer.
