Regionalization has become a catchphrase in European countries during the last twenty years with the establishment of the European Union. An ideational development has occurred during time towards emphasing more politicially powerful regions with the idea of new regionalism. Sweden represents a deviant case study, where regions historically have been politically weak and where Sweden has been characterized as a strong unitary state. The aim of this paper is to analyze the political debate in the Swedish parliament concerning the implementation of a stronger regional level (storregioner) during 2007-2010 and to determine if the debate can be characterized as a case of depoliticalization. The theory of depoliticalization have been introduced by Richard Katz and Peter Mair to explain why political parties through external pressure from europeanisation and globalization tend to become more consensual with similar political agendas, leading to a diminished the lef-right scale.

Background for the research problems: Small companies are very important for the economic stability and development, something which the economic crises in recent years have underlined. Therefore it?s important to minimize administrative costs for smaller companies and also in other ways facilitate their further development. For these reasons accounting has been simplified and auditing abolished for smaller companies in many countries. In Sweden auditing for small companies was abolished nearly three years ago.

Syfte: I november år 2010 avskaffas revisionsplikten i Sverige för mindre företag. Med den utgångspunkten grundar sig studien i att studera och identifiera de nya förutsättningarna på revisionsmarknaden efter att revisionsplikten avskaffats.Metod: Uppsatsen är inriktad i ett kvalitativt perspektiv. Empirin som samlats in via personliga intervjuer utgår från teori om revisionspliktens avskaffande, från Europanivå till den svenska lagen, för att sedan mynna ut i en analys och en slutsats.Resultat & slutsats: Undersökningen påvisar att såväl större som mindre revisionsbyråer har haft kundförluster, men bara i enstaka fall och har inte påverkat byråerna i någon större utsträckning. Studien är för tidigt ute för att se någon radikal förändring. .

The purpose of this study is to explore the factors affecting an individual's working life mobility and how this mobility is perceived by the individual. The study has a qualitative approach and the theoretical part is based on Castells', Giddens' and Bauman's theories of modern society and employment in relation to the individual. The study concludes that external circumstances in combination with internal driving forces are the reasons behind changing careers. The process is predominantly perceived as positive, especially education tends to strengthen self-identity. Work in general is regarded as important for a person's identity and new career changes are expected in the future..

This thesis concerns an energy audit of a food industry. The company's business consists of boiling and peeling shrimps, and producing mayonnaise-based salads. This type of work involves energy-intensive processes, such as steam generation, compression of air and refrigeration of large spaces. These needs are supplied with electricity. Furthermore, the industry is a major consumer of district heating, particularly for heating the supply air in the ventilation system.

Bakgrund: De stora redovisningsskandalerna inom bolag som Enron, Worldcom och Palarmat var startskottet för den epidemi som sedan kom att spela en stor roll vid förbättrandet av bolagsstyrningen bland aktiebolag världen över. Kraven på bolagen ökade att informationen som släpptes var tillförlitlig och fullständig. För att säkerställa detta togs svensk kod för bolagsstyrning fram som ett komplement till lagstiftningen berörande aktiebolag. Koden kräver ingen obligatorisk tillämpning i att implementera funktionerna utan har som krav att bolagen ska göra ett aktivt ställningsantagande vid inrättande av funktionerna i koden. En uppmärksammad punkt i koden är 7.4 där bolagen måste beskriva i sina årsredovisningar huruvida de anser sig behöva en granskningsfunktion även kallad internrevision eller inte.Syfte: Syftet med rapporten är att skapa en förståelse för vilka motiv de svenska bolagen med en omsättning över 3 miljarder kronor har haft när de valde att inte följa internrevisionsfunktionen.

The study tries to increase the understanding of the phenomenon known as the Big bath, on the question whether the market accepts Big bath accounting principle or not. Big bath is an accounting theory meaning that a company is likely to increase its impairment in a specific year. This could be as a reaction on a change in the leadership, a depreciation of the result or maybe an external decrease in demand. Through a quantitative survey of the market it is examining whether the companies themselves are inclined to use the procedure and if the stock market accepts it. The study concludes that Big bath similar procedures are a fairly common accounting practice and that the stock market does not seem to mind. .

The Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) engine is promising in terms of lowNOx, low particulates and high efficiency. Due to its homogeneous charge, where thecombustion starts almost simultaneously from a number of points in the combustion chamber,only lean mixtures are possible to burn because of the resulting rapid combustion, which is muchfaster than the combustion in an SI-engine or a diesel engine. When richer mixtures are used thecombustion will start earlier and also be more violent.To phase the combustion later and lower the combustion speed, external cooled EGR can beused. The EGR-system used in this thesis uses a divided exhaust channel where one channel andits corresponding valve are used only for transporting EGR back to the intake system.Consequently the EGR-valve is connected to the intake pressure. This system is called Direct-EGR (D-EGR).Engine tests verified that the CA50 indeed is phased later when cooled EGR is used.

Målet med den här studien var att undersöka de anställdas känslomässiga bedömning av den interna kommunikationen på ett svenskt skogsbolag med hjälp av en modifierad version av undersökningsverktyget Communication Satisfaction Questionnaire (CSQ) samt två kvalitativa frågor. Studien genomfördes på 65 anställda inom en region av ett svensk skogsbolag. Resultatet visade att de anställda var ganska nöjda eller nöjda med de olika dimensionerna av kommunikationstillfredsställelse samt att ingen statistiskt säkerställd skillnad kunde identifieras mellan tillfredsställelsen hos region- och distriktsanställda. Vidare kunde ett samband påvisas mellan de anställdas arbetstillfredsställelse och kommunikationsdimensionerna: kommunikationseffektivitet, chefsrelation, skvaller och presonlig feedback. Resultatet från de kvalitativa frågorna påvisade att de förbättringsmöjligheter de anställda framhöll främst fanns inom området kommunikationskanaler.

How often does interaction between the journalist and the reader occur?The theories we have used is both online publishing and Jan Schmidt?s analytical framework on blogs. Online publishing describes an important part in our paper, online journalism, which in turn describes three important definitions for this paper; hypertextuality, multimediality and interactivity. Jan Schmidt?s theory is central to understand the phenomena, and functions as a starting point in the analyze part.

In this master thesis we are trying to investigate whether the heads of the four major Swedish banks are receiving compensation because of their own performance. We have investigated a number of parameters in the reporting and compensation description of Handelsbanken, Nordea, SEB and Swedbank and compared it to macro data.We have used publicly available information from the banks as well as macro data from 1998 to 2009.We have come to the conclusion that the revenue and profits of the banks are heavily influenced by external factors and that there does not appear to be a clear link between a CEOs actions, the reported results for the bank, the shareholder gains and the compensation for the CEO. It appears as if the bonus payments to a CEO may depend more on parameters beyond the CEOs own control than the performance of the CEO..

When investigating mechanical problems it is often more convenient to deal with scalars rather than vectors. In this project methods stemming from the field of analytical mechanics, which lets one derive the equations of motion using scalar quantities instead of vectors, have been used. Two mechanical problems were investigated, a double pendulum with a spring and particles orbit in a sphere. The equations of motion of the two systems were derived with the assistance of computer algebra, using Maple and the external package Sophia.
