In December 2004 an earthquake coursed waves that hit Thailand. Over 5000 people died, and Sweden was the tourist country that has been effected the worst. The catastrophe precipitated Sweden in crises and the demand became high for Swedish government to act. Swedes followed the development via media, why media became the crucial element for how the public perceived politicians? acting.

In theory, the management control of maintenance functions is described as problematic due to the nature of the work performed in the unit. The purpose of this thesis is to examine these predicted problems in practice. Further,the thesis aims at identifying how these control problems may affect the relationships between the maintenance department and its internal customers. A case study has been conducted in one of Sweden?s largest industrial companies to investigate the said control problems in practice.

Media has power and impact. It is therefore important for managers to be able to handle media storms when they arise. If not, the brand can be affected negatively. It is managers who should learn to handle media storms because the managers constitute an important part of the external face of the company. Of all observable societal trends, the proliferation of standardizing processes is striking. Auditing standards are an illustrative example of this. Not only privately owned companies must today make available numbers and key figures to satisfy needs of information and knowledge. Government agencies are increasingly conforming to this trend, adopting standards for quality assurance and monitoring, producing numbers and annual reports ? despite their somewhat ambiguous task and role.

Purpose This thesis tries to create an understanding of how male homosexual entrepreneurs, both as persons and as a concept, relates to the fact that entrepreneurship, as well as the society as a whole, is heteronormative. Moreover, it examines by what methods the male homosexual entrepreneurs cope with the seemingly paradox of a homosexual man who also is an entrepreneur. Method The method has been qualitative from a social construction-point of view. We have made semi-structured interviews with nine male homosexual entrepreneurs and structured the findings from the interviews with a computer programme and mind mapping techniques. We have compared the structured findings with theories, in an abducting manner, to find out an answer to the purpose of this thesis.

Background: The design industry is relatively immature in Sweden but large on the international market, where companies have used services from industrial design firms for a long time. Companies incresignly realise that design is an efficient mean to gain competitive advantages on the market. Several design companies fancy growth and to receive a wider market share to expand on the international market. During the last 20 years, the Swedish health care system has faced major changes. One of them is the increasing pressure to generate economic profit due to private businesses entering the market. Health care units are forced to make some structural changes in order to become effective and efficient. As a result merger and acquisitions has become a part of the health care sector, and seems to be an increasing phenomenon. Mergers and acquisitions have mainly been studied in the industry.

The term CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) is frequently discussed today. Many large companies work actively with CSR related questions. However, few empirical studies exist on what this work entails and why it is undertaken. Instead, most of the academic research focuses on what the term itself should mean. To bridge this gap this study centers on the employees? perceptions of CSR.

Frihandelsavtalet Nafta (North American Free Trade Agreement) slöts den 1:a januari 1994 mellan USA, Kanada och Mexiko.Synen på fri handel har alltid varit en laddad ideologisk fråga och det var främst fackföreningsrörelsen och miljörörelsen som kom att rikta den skarpaste kritiken mot Nafta. Den handlade bland annat om den höga mexikanska immigrationsnivån till USA, ökad arbetslöshet, att miljöfrågorna inte prioriterades och att avtalet skulle leda fram till större ekonomiska klyftor. Syftet med uppsatsen är att med enkomparativ ansats undersöka hur det mediala språkbruket i New York Times konstruerar och ramar in bilden av Nafta under åren 1993 och 2009/2010 och vilken ideologisk konsensus som dras.Genom att använda Entmans inramningsanalys (framing), van Dijks kritiska diskursanalys och Fowlers konsensusideologi, kunde bakomliggande ideologier och diskurser komma upp till ytan och intressanta iakttagelser av Nafta göras.Problemdefinitionen 1993 speglade ett Mexiko i djup ekonomisk- och social kris och USA:s ekonomiska problem med bland annat hög arbetslöshet och stora mexikanska immigrationsvågor. Problemet låg främst i den okunnighet och rädsla som genomsyrade den amerikanska befolkningens inställning till Nafta. I 1993 års artiklar fanns en genomgående repetition av den dominerande och homogena inramningen som bestod av en liberal marknadssyn där frihandel lyftes fram som det främsta framgångsreceptet och därmed blev Nafta den enda utvägen ur krisen.

Det internationella resandet till Sverige har sedan 1991 ökat med nästan 100 procent. Nästan 35 procent av all turism är utländsk konsumtion, där Tyskland näst Norge är Sveriges viktigaste utlandsmarknad. The aim of the project was to develop a method to investigate differences in adhesion of microorganisms to materials that contains lignocellulose. The method was tested on a gram-positive (Micrococcus lutea) and one gram-negative (E-coliJM109) bacteria.The study was begun by cultivation of the two microorganisms. The cultivation was done to calculate the generation times of the bacteria and to obtain growth curves. Cells from these cultivations were also frozen (-70ºC) and later used for inoculation.At STFI-Packforsk AB the total charge on the mass was measured and later a conductivity titration on the mass was executed as well, all to find out more about the different properties of the mass. Properties that in a later part of this study could possibly be linked to the adhesion of cells to the pulp.

ABSTRACT. Mastitis is one of the most common diseases affecting dairy cows worldwide. In Sweden annu-ally about 60% of the dairy cows get infected and Staphylococcus aureus cause approximately 30% of these infections. Mastitis causes enormous economic losses. In Sweden, the costs to cure mastitis are estimated to be 192 million SEK per year, excluding the costs for mastitis prevention.

Uppsatsen utgår från ett litteratursociologiskt perspektiv, där speglingsteorin är en viktig del. Speglingsteorin innebär att man betraktar litteraturen som en spegling av samhället. Klassiska verk används till exempel som sociohistoriska källor till andra samhällen och epoker. Utgångspunkten för den här studien är att det inte enbart är de klassiska verken som utgör en sådan källa, utan att även dagens populärlitteratur kan ses som en länk till hur människor och samhälle fungerar. Den hypotes som driver uppsatsen är att litteraturen fyller en funktion för läsarna, nämligen att den tjänar som stöd och hjälp i människors liv.
