This thesis processes the work of developing CPU code and GPU code for Thomas Kaijsers algorithm for calculating the kantorovich distance and the performance between the two is compared. Initially there is a rundown of the algorithm which calculates the kantorovich distance between two images. Thereafter we go through the CPU implementation followed by GPGPU written in CUDA. Then the results are presented. Lastly, an analysis about the results and a discussion with possible improvements is presented for possible future applications..

Detta examensarbete kommer ge en överblick över de olika grafikmotorer som finns för att utveckla spel till handhelds (dvs. iPhone, iPad, Android, Nintendo DS och PSP). Även ge en överblick över vilka begränsningar de olika enheterna har. Sedan kommer en djupdykning i en grafisk pipeline för Unity riktat mot iPhone/iPad. The aim with this master's thesis is to describe the work process with the graduation film Player, by a composers perspective and given conditions. It provides a detailed insight into how the work was done from the script stage to the end result, scene by scene reflecting about both the musical performance and the collaboration between the director and me as a composer. I denna undersökning vill vi belysa motiven bakom hur svenska små- och medelstora företag har valt att internationaliseras till Sydafrika. Därifrån vill vi med hjälp av våra respondenters perspektiv klarlägga hur de kulturella skillnaderna upplevs, och hur Sydafrikas framtidsutsikter kommer att utvecklas. Sveriges insatser under Apartheid medförde en goodwill som vi är intresserade av att undersöka närmare. Finns den kvar och hur påverkar den våra respondenters arbete i Sydafrika.Studien bygger på en kvalitativ ansats där det empiriska underlaget är inhämtat genom intervjuer av personer på ledande befattningar i fyra svenska små- och medelstora företag med verksamhet i och till Sydafrika. Materialet har därefter analyserats utifrån teoretiska utgångspunkter hämtade ur export- och kulturstrategiska infallsvinklar.Studien visar att svenska små och medelstora företag internationaliseras till Sydafrika med huvudmotivet att öka företagets vinst.

Today, about 15 to 20 percent of Sweden?s total emission of carbon dioxide can be traced to the household sector. By examining apartment blocks in a life cycle perspective, the origin of the carbon dioxide emission has been charted and analyzed. This information has been used to create a computational model that calculates the total emission of carbon dioxide from a specific apartment block. The results from the analyzed apartment blocks indicate that both the use of energy and the emission of carbon dioxide have been reduced since the 1960s. Through the examination of building materials, it is possible to lower the emission of carbon dioxide that origins from the construction phase of an apartment block.

Title: Go for it! - A study of anxiety in relation to students performing in ensemble class.This study discusses anxiety in relation to students in ensemble performance. The expectations on musicians are extremely high and demanding. They are expected to perform to the maximum of their ability despite both physical and mental pressure. I present in this study the result of the interviews I have performed with three students at Swedish Academies of Music. The study shows that all of the students included are in one way or the other suffering from anxiety in relation to performance.

Mer än 50 procent av Sveriges totala BNP är idag utlandsexport och svenska företags beslut på internationella marknader blir alltmer betydelsefulla för företagens framgång. En växande marknad för svensk utlandsexport är Mellanöstern där Saudiarabien utgör en stor del av regionen. Studien ämnar undersöka hur och varför svenska företag träder in på den saudiarabiska marknaden, där uppkomna problem utgör en del i inträdesprocessen. Studien bygger på en kvalitativ undersökning med sex svenska tillverkningsföretag, vilken analyserades utifrån ett teoretiskt ramverk baserat på internationaliseringsteorier. Det empiriska materialet och teoretiska ramverket analyserades därtill emot en kontext om Saudiarabien. Undersökningen visar att det är många olika faktorer som påverkar företagens val, vilka grundas i såväl rationella beslutsprocesser som slumpvisa affärsmöjligheter. Saudiarabiens ekonomiska stabilitet samt stora marknad har utgjort en stor dragningskraft för företagen.

Law firms are defined as knowledge-intensive companies. Due to the dependency regarding the resource of knowledge among the firms employees and to the fact that they often are categorised as a type of professional service firm. The purpose of this study is to investigate the different types of profitsharingsystems as a form of reward with focus on the theoretical differences and effects of the True Partnershipmodel and the Stockholmmodel. In addition to these models we will look into the Human Resource processes of; recruiting, integration, retaining and development of employees. The main purpose of the study is to examine the theoretical level on how the profitsharingsystems effect different Human Resource processes and through the knowledge of these connections using this as an analogy when to analyse other law-firms and knowledge?intensive company?s.

Approximately 4000-5000 hectares, of SCA´s forest land area in Västerbotten, are in need of pre-commercial thinning (PCT) every year. Within the management district, the areas annually treated with PCT must increase, in order to decrease the area with an urgent need for PCT. This can be done by employing more forest workers or entrepreneurs, by mechanized PCT or by an extended season for PCT. Positive experiences from a private forest owner, who started to carry out PCT when the first snow came and then continued for several months, gave an idea to investigate the possibilities to prolong the season of PCT. The purpose of this experiment was to compare PCT carried out when there was snow on the ground with PCT performed when there was no snow on the ground.

This report presents a master thesis project performed at Elekta AB during the fall of 2013 and early 2014. Elekta is a medical technology company and their main product in the Stockholm office is a gamma knife used for radiosurgery. The gamma knife contains a cluster of a dozen motor servos and motors used for adjusting the patient and the radiation sources over a CAN bus. A self-developed hardware-in-loop simulator running on a PC with LabVIEW is currently being used for integration level testing of the control system of the gamma knife. The simulator has some problems with it not running in real-time and having other performance issues.

Starch is a naturally occurring substance in most plants and is used as energy storage. It is a component that mainly consists of amylose and amylopectin. Together they build a complex pattern which gives starch its specific properties. The proportion of amylose and amylopectin varies in different plants but generally starch consists of 25 % amylose and 75 % amylopectin. There have been discoveries of barley varieties containing 100 % amylopectin called ?waxy starches? or ?waxy barley? as well as varieties that have a high content of amylose, around 70 % and these are called ?amylotypes?.

The primary function of a mixer is to keep a fluid in constant motion. All mixing applicationsrequire varying degrees of small-scale turbulence and bulk flow. The performance of asubmersible mixer is measured by the thrust that it produces, while the strength of the bulkflow is dependent on the total amount of installed thrust.In a mixer, the fluid quickly flows past the propeller, and as a result, the current is mainlyaxial. The fluid will also obtain a rotating velocity, or a swirl, though this is significantly lessthan that of the propeller. During the process, the total amount of energy increases in the formof static pressure and kinetic energy.

In a globalized world, competitiveness is based on the high IP (intellectual property) of our export products and innovations are therefore important for new companies to establish and develop. It´s not enough to just have big international companies but it is also necessary to invest in new companies that can be competitive in the future. By helping entrepreneurs with innovation support in the early stages, new technology-based businesses are established and developed. The purpose of this paper was to examine how innovation support in the early stages affects the establishment and development of new technology-based companies. Furthermore, we investigated how this will affect Sweden's international competitiveness.
