This is a thesis about The Eight Circuit Model, a modern mind map developed for the purpose of illumination and enlighenment by Dr. Timothy Leary in the 1970s. Later, authors such as Robert Anton Wilson and Antero Alli elaborated upon the idea to make it more wholesome and compatible with other ideas expressing the same basic principle. In short, it is an intellectual abstraction of the evolution of consciousness through a series of eight stages, which Leary called Circuits. By looking at the brain as an evolving bio-computer, with thoughts working as software, upgrading itself through neurological imprints, Learys created a Hero's Journey for the modern age.The thesis tries to analyze this idea, as it is presented in Robert Anton Wilsons Prometheus Rising, through the lens of the discourse category ?Western Esoterism.? A hard-to-define subject but described as ?the dialectic of the hidden and the revealed in the field of religion.?.

En dynamisk svårighetsgrad syftar till att anpassa ett spels svårighetsgrad efter hur spelaren presterar. Ett sätt att göra detta går ut på att en genetisk algoritm gör fienderna lagom svåra för spelaren, genom att göra fienderna gradvis svårare till spelet anses vara utmanande för spelaren. För att se till att detta inte går långsamt föreslog ett tidigare arbete två tekniker, där den ena gick ut på att ha information i förväg, och den ena fokuserade på en välskapt algoritm. För att undersöka vilken teknik som presterade bäst för att hantera fiender vars svårighetsgrad styrs av variablerna hälsa, snabbhet och skada skapades ett enkelt spel i 2D där spelaren kontinuerligt försvarade sig mot fiender. Resultaten visar att tekniken med information i förväg presterar bäst, men att den inte bör vara det enda som bestämmer svårighetsgraden.

Medhjälpar-AI blir allt mer vanligt i dagens spel och främst används de som substitut till en mänsklig spelare i spel med olika typer av samarbetslägen. Det finns med andra ord ett behov att utforska detta område, både när det gäller olika AI-tekniker och metoder för förbättring av hur medhjälpar-AI:n upplevs. Genetiska algoritmer är en AI-teknik som simulerar evolution, vilket är användbart i flera områden. Det här arbetet undersöker om genetiska algoritmer kan fungera som basis till en medhjälpar-AI som anpassar sig efter spelarens prestation i realtid.Experimentmiljön som används är ett enkelt actionspel, där en spelare tillsammans med medhjälpare ska samla poäng. Beroende på en medhjälpares poäng i förhållande till spelaren, ändrar medhjälparen skicklighetsnivå dynamiskt under spelets gång.Utvärderingen visar att genetiska algoritmer fungerar bra som utgångspunkt till ändamålet.

Detta arbete undersöker två tekniker för att evaluera spelplanen i minimaxalgoritmen. Den tekniken som fokuseras mest på i arbetet är ett artificiellt neuralt nätverk som evolveras med hjälp av samevolution. Tekniken är utformad för att inte behöva någon tidigare mänsklig expertis. Den andra tekniken använder heuristiker och mänsklig expertis för att få fram evalueringsfunktionen. Spelet som används för att testa teknikerna är Kinaschack.Resultaten antyder att tekniken i fokus inte fungerar till spelet Kinaschack.

A numerical simulation case involving space plasma and the evolution of instabilities that generates very fast electrons, i.e. approximately at half of the speed of light, is used as a test bed for scientific visualisation techniques. A visualisation system was developed to provide interactive real-time animation and visualisation of the simulation results. The work focuses on two themes and the integration of them. The first theme is the storage and management of the large data sets produced.

AbstractWe´re surrounded by music in many different ways. Sometimes we choose the music ourselves and sometimes it?s just there. The purpose of my thesis is to illustrate the students apprehension and understanding of the teaching of music in school. Moreover, my own interest in this subject and its influence during my school years motivated me in researching my thesis.

As students of graphic design the craft of print is close to our hearts. One of the most essential mediums of the evolution of printing techniques is the poster. In a world where digital mediums are being utilized to a greater degree everyday, our love for the printed poster makes us wonder if the days of the poster are counted.What we did was to take a closer look at the role of the poster in promoting events. We focused on the Stockholm area and did qualitative interviews with three different event promoters. Live Nation which is an international live entertainment promoter, Dramaten which is one of Sweden?s most well respected theaters and Stockholm Live which is a stand up comedy promoter in Stockholm city.From doing this we learned that economics play an important part in defining the role of the poster.

This thesis is concerned with how identity is connected to historical writings and what normsshapes the perspectives of history. The purpose of this study is to investigate the possibilitiesfor identification offered in history books used for history teaching. This study is concernedwith what role the nation plays and how it shapes the conception of history, with the hope ofcounteracting negative attitudes towards those not being identified as ?Swedish? in the historytelling.The study was conducted through discourse analysis. The material for this analysis consistedof three history books directed towards 4-6th graders.The study shows how identity is created through putting ?us? against ?them?.

The aim of this bachelor´s thesis ist to analyze the idea progress in the party programs in the swedish Centre-party during the time 1910-1959. The progress in the party program is compared with the evolution of society during the same period.The bachelor´s aim is also to analyze how each new program is described in newspapers, two newspapers were chosen to make the comparison; Arbetet (a social-democratic newspaper), and Skånska Dagbladet (a centre-party newspaper). The result shows that the party in the beginning was conservative and against both capitalism and socialism. The start of the party was a reaction against the new electionsystem which was introduced in Sweden in 1909.The party took a clear standpoint for the Swedish farmers, but after 1933, they were standing for the whole countryside. In the 1940´s and the 1950´s the party became more like a social liberal party rather than an agrarian party only for the farmers.The party programs are not given much space in the two newspapers.

The failure of Structural Adjustment Programs and its neoliberal policies to effectively reduce poverty have led to the creation of Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (PRSP) by The World Bank and International Monetary Fund. PRSP, connected to both the Comprehensive Development Strategy and the HIPC initiative, are built on the notion of national ownership and stakeholder participation and thereby expand potential conditionality to include matters of governance. This thesis examines the evolution of PRSP and how the process of participation affects national governance structures. By analyzing the role of rules and norms within the World Bank and IMF from a historical point of view the thesis explains why the participation process has developed the way it has. It concludes that neoliberal norms, still at heart within the World Bank and IMF, have an impact on the process of participation within nation states and thereby its governance structure.

Even if the theory provides powerful tools to tackle tough problems which would be very hard to solve by methods of Newtonian mechanics, you are still relatively limited without running any computer simulations. One realises that in a faster rate it will be an incredibly difficult task to find an analytical solution when the degrees of freedom increases. Even if one would succeed to derive the equations, one still has to solve them to get the information of the systems behavior. Of experience one knows that the equations in general are nonlinear and hence must be integrated numericaly.

This essay is dealing with the difficulties of cataloging and classifying anonymi and other kinds of literature without the components which have set the norm for bibliographic cataloging, i.e. a defined author, a standardized title etc. A typical example of this kind of literature is folklore and folktales, which are dealt with thoroughly here. The character of and the society's historical view upon the folk literature, as literature considered, are being described, as is the evolution of rules for cataloging in general. The folk literature is mostly systematized after a different pattern from other literature, since bibliographical facts are often missing.

Får uppvisar en mängd olika beteenden som kan göra det möjligt för en erfaren bedömare att på ett icke-invasivt och snabbt sätt uppskatta känsloläget hos djuren. Vid smärta ökar tiden i olika onormala ställningar. Även en ökning av normala beteenden till onormala proportioner kan ses. Sammanlagt kan dessa två beteendetyper vid svåra smärttillstånd uppta all djurets vakna tid. Rädsla kan framkalla en rad olika beteenden där många har sitt ursprung i fårens evolution som flyktdjur. Det kan röra sig om flyktförsök, ökad tveksamhet eller ökad eller minskad rörlighet. Även öronens läge kan ge en uppfattning om känsloläget hos får.

The concept of national security has been a matter for debate during recent years, especially in academic fields. Criticism has surfaced since the end of the cold war, directed towards the traditional perspective's dogmatic focus on armed threats and interstate war. Questions concerning an oncoming paradigm shift have been raised, regarding a widening of the security agenda among national states to also include alternative threats, such as environmental hazards. In this thesis, the focus lies on the effects that climate changes have caused in the Swedish national security agenda during the last 15 years. Swedish policy documents show that there have been some major changes, not only the widening of the security agenda but the entire security domain seems to have changed.
