Social support is an important part of handling the troubles of life. The purpose of this literature review is to investigate what forms the social support for adult women with breast cancer with the aim to be used in the nursing care. By system-atical reading of scientific articles nine qualitative articles were found which the result is based on. The theoretical framework was Antonovsky´s health focused theory with the central issue KASAM, the feeling of life connection. The study resulted in three themes emotional support, practical support and informational support, which describe the balanced content of social support.

Uppfattningen om äldre och åldrandet påverkar synen på behov och problem samt hur omvårdnad och bemötande sker mot äldre. Olika åldrandeteorier påverkar omvårdnadspersonalens synsätt på åldrandet, vilket i sin tur påverkar de äldre. Gerotranscendens är en åldrandeteori som beskriver åldrandet som något positivt.Syftet med studien var att presentera teorin om gerotranscendens för omvårdnadspersonal på ett särskilt boende och undersöka om de anser att kunskap om gerotranscendens förändrar deras synsätt gentemot äldre.Studien har utförts genom semistrukturerade intervjuer med 12 omvårdnadspersonal på ett särskilt boende. Data har analyserats med en kvalitativ innehållsanalys.Denna studie tyder på att kunskap i teorier om åldrandet ger en ökad förståelse för åldrandet och en medvetenhet hos omvårdnadspersonalen hur de kan känna igen tecken på gerotranscendens och därmed främja äldres väg mot gerotranscendens. Studien tyder även på att kunskapen om gerotranscendens har gett omvårdnadspersonalen andra redskap att använda i omvårdnaden av de äldre.Omvårdnadspersonalen har genom kunskap i teorin om gerotranscendens fått en medvetenhet om att de genom förändrade arbetsmetoder och annan samtalsteknik med de äldre kan främja de äldres väg mot gerotranscendens..

Background;Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a lung disease characterized by airway obstruction. Common signs of COPD are the slow process and shortness of breath on exertion. The most important treatment is to quit smoking. Most nurses, regardless of where they work, will meet these patients, often when the patients are having respiratory disorders. The aim of this thesis is to examine how salesperson control can be exercised in a retail store environment. A case study has been performed on a Swedish fashion company emphasizing the relationship between the company?s upper level management and their retail store operations in order to describe, analyze and classify the prevailing management control mechanisms. The paper presents an agency theoretical approach to the relationship applying behavior- and outcome based control theory, performance measurement theory and incentives theory in order to give a comprehensive image of the control system. The main finding is that the company?s management control system as applied to the sales force in its retail stores can be categorized as mainly behavior-based despite several explicit outcome-based features..

Cancer is one of the most feared diseases in veterinary medicine today, and the incidence is higher than ever due to the fact that our companion animals live longer then they did ten to twenty years ago. Cancer is also one of the most common causes of mortality in older companion animals. This literature review will be about two of the currently most common form of cancer treatment of companion animals in Swedish animal hospitals, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. There will also be a section of general nursing care for cancer patients. The section of chemotherapy will describe the indications for choosing chemotherapy, the way to administrate chemotherapeutic drugs, describe specific chemotherapeutic drugs, potential side effects of chemotherapy, and how to handle and store chemotherapeutic drugs safely. The section of radiation therapy will describe the current devices for delivering radiation therapy, describe the indications for choosing radiation therapy and describe potential side effects that radiation therapy may cause.

The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate 7 different search strategies for content-based image retrieval with respect to retrieval effectiveness. The strategies are based on different levels of resolution implemented by the Haar transformation. Det som belyses är de olika kunskapsformer som akutsjuksköterskan lutar sig mot när hon använder sin "kliniska blick"och hur de samverkar och är beroende av varandra. The objective for this study was to acquire a greater insight if children with concentration difficulties are assisted by outdoor education in the traditional teaching. With the use of a qualitative methodology four teachers were interviewed. The outcome gave evidence for that the teachers thought that outdoor education has a positive outcome for children with concentrations difficulties. The findings were divided into three key categories: the teacher?s reflections about outdoor education, outdoor education for children with difficulties in concentration and if there was any difference in how the children behaved indoors after having educations outdoors..

Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva hur sjuksköterskor arbetar med preventiva åtgärder vid trycksårs uppkomst samt vilka omvårdnadsåtgärder som ges till patienter som utvecklat trycksår. Vetenskapliga artiklar söktes i databaserna Medline via Pubmed och Cinahl med sökorden nursing, pressure ulcer, prevention, treatment, therapy, intervention. Endast artiklar från år 2003- mars 2008 användes i studien. Både kvantitativa och kvalitativa artiklar användes, dessa artiklar granskades utifrån två modifierade granskningsprotokoll. Resultatet påvisade variationer av dessa preventiva insatser som sjuksköterskor använde sig av.
