AimThe compulsory school attendance in Sweden means that all children are obligated to go to school. This makes great demands on those who work in the school, especially the teachers. Schools are complex units. In school, teachers face all kinds of ethical dilemmas on a daily basis. The aim of the study is to enlighten how different teachers would act differently, if they were facing the same dilemma in the PE-lessons and why this knowledge is important to our profession.MethodThe data was collected through interviews to make a qualitative research.

Syftet med den här studien har varit att belysa hur fångars situation, med avseende på deras anpassning i samhället, uttrycks i massmedia samt hur de uttryckta föreställningarna om anpassning kan relateras till lagtexten. Studien är kvalitativ och den empiri som använts är debattartiklar i Dagens Nyheter och Svenska Dagbladet. Till dessa artiklar har följande frågeställningar ställts:-Vilka förhållanden anses som problem i massmediala diskussioner beträffande fångarnas situation? Hur beskrivs dessa och vilka förslag till lösningar diskuteras? -Hur kan sådana förhållanden relateras till fångarnas anpassning i samhället och hur kan den i sin tur kopplas till lagens intentioner? Resultatet av den första frågeställningen har analyserats utifrån ett socialkonstruktivistiskt perspektiv och med hjälp av begreppen ?claims- maker?, ?socialt problem? och ?moralisk panik?. Den andra frågeställningen har analyserats med lagtext som utgångspunkt.

Denna kvalitativa underso?kning handlar om fotografi vilket anva?nds som pedagogisk dokumentation i fo?rskola. Studien problematiserar det som synliggo?rs i fotografierna genom pedagogernas samtal och fotograferande.Da?rmed underso?ks hur medlet fotografi, kan formuleras in i ett pedagogiskt sammanhang och vilka specifika funktioner detta medium har na?r det anva?nds som dokumentation i fo?rskolan. Studien underso?ker ocksa? vad som avgo?r sorteringen och urvalet av dessa fotografier.Resultatet visar att a?terkommande drag i de tagna fotografierna kan ses i relation till pedagogernas fo?rha?llningssa?tt.

The aim of this paper is to map out the purposes of the United Nations Peacekeeping Operations. This is done in order to see if humanitarian tendencies have been an increasingly cause for the UN to initiate an intervention with military means. This paper uses the time period from the end of the cold war until today, since that historic occurrence increased the U.N.?s involvement in peacekeeping. By using this time span it enables the survey to indicate changes in the mapping of humanitarian interventions.

Antalet personer med demenssjukdom ökar i Sverige och i stora delar av världen. Svåra kognitiva symtom komplicerar relationen mellan vårdpersonal och de personer som vårdas med demenssjukdom vilket ofta leder till etiska frågor och dilemman. För att utveckla omvårdnaden av personer med demenssjukdom är det viktigt att kartlägga sjuksköterskans etiska perspektiv. Syftet med studien var att beskriva sjuksköterskans etiska perspektiv i omvårdnaden av personer med demenssjukdom. Studien genomfördes som en litteraturstudie och tio vetenskapliga artiklar granskades. Resultatet visade att etiska perspektiv uppstod i olika situationer.

The purpose with this essay is to illustrate the problematical mother-daughterrelation in Mar-gareta Garpes drama/play ?To Julia? through a psychoanalytic and philosophical perspective. To get a deeper understanding for the relations between mother and daughter, and the kind of motherhood that Gloria is practising in the play I have used a hermeneutic method in search for answers to the questions: Why does Gloria take a position as a so called friend or sister in the interaction with her daughter Julia? Why is not mother Gloria capable to be mature, caring and nursing in the interaction with Julia? Through Gloria Margareta Garpe is giving me possible answers: Gloria is still seeing herself as a rejected and lonely child. The role of the daughter Julia in her mother?s life is to fill an empty space that was created in Gloria?s adolescence when she experienced the same feelings as Julia in present time in the play.

Inom geriatriken där den äldre, ofta multisjuke och kanske krisdrabbade patienten vårdas, kan sjuksköterskan ställas inför etiskt svåra situationer som blir svårlösta då det inte är självklart hur dessa skall hanteras. Detta ställer höga krav på sjuksköterskans förmåga att göra bedömningar för att nå en så bra lösning som möjligt. Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva sjuksköterskors upplevelse av etiskt svåra situationer vid vård av äldre. Författarna valde en kvalitativ metod med semistrukturerade intervjuer med åtta sjuksköterskor inom hemsjukvård och särskilt boende som arbetat minst två år inom denna vårdform. Data analyserades med en kvalitativ innehållsanalys och strukturerades i två huvudteman: begränsningar i patientens autonomi och etiska svårigheter i patientmötet.

This thesis explore women?s needs when reentering society after having served a sentence at the female prison Färingsö, outside Stockholm and whether those needs are being met in the reentry strategies that are being provided. Parallel to this the thesis also examines if there, based on nonconformity and gender theories, is a socially constructed representation of women maintained in the rehabilitation work.The method of this thesis applied semi-structured interviews and used snowball sampling to expand the network of informants to obtain the data necessary. Totally five interviews were carried out. Previous research has shown that women in prison have much more complex problems than men and that there is a need for reentry strategies that take gender in account.The results showed that in terms of being able to reenter back in society, women needed help to structure a previously chaotic life.

This article discusses desirable political representation within the framework of representative democracy. In the desirable representation it is the responsibility of the politician to balance authoritative decision making with responsiveness towards the voters. The article intends to make visible the ethical complexity within representative democracy. Ethically the commission to represent is further complicated because the political parties constitute a central role in the political life and request loyalty of the politician. At the same time the politician is elected by the voters and thus the representative has to balance the dual representation.The politician can meet supplementary but also contradictory norms of action in decision taking.

The aim of this Masters thesis is to examine librarians opinions about media. Four questions are asked: What kind of different attitudes to new media has librarians had? How is new media discussed in relationship to each other in the debate? What mechanisms and underlying causes control the discourse for new media in public libraries? Does the discourse change over time, in that case, how? The theoretical background is theory about moral- and media panic and popular adult education. The media panic theory includes the idea that the same reaction occurs every time a new media is introduced. The theory about popular adult education is that the public need to be cultivated.

What affect if an incident is reported?- an interview study with nursesABSTRACTEveryday in health care, there are incidents which can harm patients. However, reporting these incidents is not always a positive experience. The number of incident reports which are documented are a lot fewer than the number of incidents that actually occur. The purpose of the present study was to describe factors that affect nurses? decisions on whether to report an incident or not.

Uppsatsen presenterar moralklausulen, som återfinns i företagsförsäkringsvillkor, vars syfte är attförhindra försäkringstagarens spekulation i sitt försäkringsskydd. Olika utformningar av klausulenjämförs och jag utreder dess förenlighet med lagtext för framkallande av försäkringsfall i 8 kap 11 och14 §§ NFAL, där slutsatsen är att förenlighet med lag avgörs i varje enskilt fall. Jag utreder även omskyldigheten att inte framkalla försäkringsfall är att se som en biförpliktelse, vilket den ses som iNFAL, men kommer fram till att den inte är att se som en sådan. I uppsatsen klargörs dessutom attmoralklausulen kan tillämpas gentemot andra försäkrade än den som har visat dålig moral. Härtillstuderas hur klausulen har tillämpats historiskt enligt GFAL och hur den tillämpas i enlighet medNFAL idag, varvid jag har funnit att tillämpningen är restriktiv och inte har ändrats i någon störreomfattning.

Technological advancements in the field of biotechnology are now in the threshold of human procreation.Human reproductive cloning is seen as an assisted method of reproduction which creates a newborn that is genetically identical to another human being.Human reproductive cloning as a technology and as a means of reproduction is not without its pros and cons. In as much as the technology promises to mention but a few, hope for the infertile couples and single parents, as well as the hope of reproduction without passing on hereditary diseases; it at the same time beeps some flashes of worry.

The purpose of this degree project is to clarify how five Kenyan Life Skills teachers discuss about hiv and aids education. Furthermore, to reveal whether the validity claims in their verbal communication refers to facts, morality or personal experiences. This, I will study by examine the teachers knowledge of, and attitudes towards, the disease. The teaching methods they are using and the basis of their validity claims. I have chosen to use semi-structured interviews as method and the theoretical framework is based on Jürgen Habermas theory of universal pragmatics.My result shows that there is a dilemma about whether the respondents knowledge is sufficient or insufficient.

Whether use of affirmative action can be justified is an ethical dilemma that hasbeen intensely debated. The question raises several conflict dimensions. Thepurpose of this thesis is to separate different arguments of the debate and classifywhich principles they are built upon. To accomplish this, an analytical instrumentis created where three different perspectives of equality, and deontology versusconsequentialism, are compared. A third conflict dimension, individual versusgroup ethical principles, is also considered.
