Den här uppsatsen behandlar Holmes Rolston IIIs bok ?Environmental Ethics? och den teori som författaren där för fram angående naturens värde. Syftet är att klargöra hur naturen är värdefull enligt Rolston samt att kritiskt granska de argument som förs fram.Uppsatsen har tre delar. En introduktion som i korthet presenterar teorier om etisk naturalism, antropocentrisk etik, det naturalistiska misstaget, intrinsikala värden samt distinktionen mellan kultur och natur. Detta syftar till att placera den kommande diskussionen i en tydlig kontext.Efter introduktionen följer del ett, som behandlar Rolstons teori.

The purpose of this paper is to see which ethical content arguments have in the debate about wolfhunting, particularly with regard to the Svensk Jakt respective Tidningen Djurens Rätt's arguments. The method used in this paper is the analysis of arguments in which I investigate the pro and contra arguments of the four authors of the articles that I have chosen to study. I will avail myself of theories from Carruthers and Franklin. Analysis shows that the authors of the Swedish hunting above all have a ecocentric view of the wolf where it is an instrumental value for the ecosystem, and the authors of Djurens Rätt's has especially a biocentric view of the wolf where it may be an absolute value, but they can also extend to the that the wolf has instrumental value in the ecocentric perspective. The discussion has shown that Djurens Rätt's and Svensk Jakt has a common position that is an ecocentric perspective where the wolf has instrumental value, even though they believe that different actions are different law to protect the species and the ecosystem..

What every theory of democracy has in common is a reference to ?a people? who are, in one way or another, collectively self-governing. Given that, surprisingly little attention has been paid to the so called boundary problem of democratic theory, or, in other words, the question of who should be included in the democratic community. Lately, the historically given boundaries have been questioned in favour of a cosmopolitan democracy. Still, little has been said about the boundary problem in general, especially from a theoretical point of view.

Den allmänna uppfattningen i Sverige, före 1990-talet, var att ensamstående mammor inte skiljde sig så mycket från gifta mammor vad gäller försörjning och förvärvsarbete. Statistik från SCB (2009) visar dock att ensamstående småbarnsmammor ? ifall de förvärvsarbetar - jobbar fler timmar i genomsnitt än sammanboende småbarnsmammor. Syftet med denna studie var därför att undersöka ensamstående småbarnsmammors motivation till antal timmar i förvärvsarbete.

The purpose of this essay is to analyze the view on sexuality held by Sweden?s first woman doctor Karolina Widerström, by using ideologycritical textanalysis on the written scriptures of dr. Widerström that focus on sexualpolitics. In doing this I use the theory of speech by Foucault. In this study I focus on Widerström?s scriptures, what she wrote about, how she wrote about it but also what she couldn't write due to the historical context and how omission can still speak of power.

In this qualitative study the authors explores, by studying several quality-development models what quality in leadership is. The models are: Total Quality Management; SIQ?s model for customer-oriented organizational development; the EFQM excellence model; the ISO 9000:2000 standard; and Six Sigma. Title: Organic / Synthetic in today's creative music making. This work intends to find out what synthetically versus organically produced music means for a songwriter / producer as well as for an artist in their everyday role of occupation. What are the positions regarding these two methods and how do they relate to these concepts? This study also concerns the general view of music produced with each one of these methods and to which extent there exists prejudice towards them. The method used for data collection is qualitative interviews.

This essay investigates the relationship between Mildred and her daughter Veda in James M. Cains novel Mildred Pierce (1941). The purpose of the investigation is to point out how the relationship is portrayed in the film from 1945, and the TV-series from 2011. To facilitate the analysis I apply adaptation theorist Thomas Leicht?s list of ten different adaptation strategies to conclude the possible effects these strategies may have had on the relationship portrait and the themes of the novel.

Att i praktiskt arbete i klassrummet genomföra dessa båda uppgifter är ofta svårt. Av tradition dominerar kunskaps- och färdighetskraven skolans arbete och stödet för att utveckla arbetet kring värdegrundsfrågor har länge varit eftersatt.Under läsåret 2004-2005 har jag tillsammans med mina elever i årskurs tre arbetat med samtal kring moral och etik. Våra samtal har utgått från litteratur och film.
