Användning av Etanol som drivmedel och en efterfråga på gröna kemikalier driver utvecklingen av bioEtanol framåt. Etanolpiloten, SEKAB, i Örnsköldsvik är en av få anläggningar i världen med kompetens och kunskap att producera bioEtanol baserat på lignocellulosa. På senare tid har det dock uppstått problem vid Etanolframställningen på grund av att en del jästodlingar blivit kontaminerade av bakterier vilket lett till ett sämre utbyte av biomassa och Etanol. Det huvudsakliga syftet med detta examensarbete var att ta reda på orsaken till dessa misslyckade jästodlingar. Examensarbetet delades upp i två huvudsakliga problemområden. Förutom orsaken till de kontaminerade odlingarna studerades även funktionen hos en ny jäststam, Saccaromyces cerevisiae torrjäst, i syfte att undersöka om det finns bättre alternativ till den jäststam som används i etanopiloten i nuläget. En specialstudie av rengöringen av odlingstankar och ledningar i Etanolpiloten utfördes i syfte att kartlägga var i utrustningen som infektionsrisken är som störst.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att göra en marknadsundersökning på drivmedel, som har till ändamål att klarlägga den rådande marknaden liksom hur marknaden kan komma att se ut i framtiden. Med drivmedelsmarknad avses distributionskedjan och kostnader för drivmedel ur slutkonsumentens perspektiv, samt slutkonsumenternas efterfrågan på förnybara drivmedel.För att komma fram till syftet har vi tittat på vilka drivmedel som finns, vilken tillgänglighet de har och vilka kostnader som användningen av varje drivmedel medför. För att titta på marknadens efterfrågan på förnybara drivmedel har vi intervjuat ett transportföretag och ett landsting om hur de ställer sig till miljövänligare drivmedel och kostnaderna dessa medför. Vi genomförde då en kvalitativ undersökning genom att intervjua Caland Transport AB och Landstinget i Värmland.Marknadsundersökningen på drivmedel omfattar de fossila bränslen bensin, diesel och naturgas, biobränslen Etanol, mEtanol, biogas och vätgas, samt eldrift. Vi har tagit reda på kort om drivmedlets aktuella/potentiella produktion liksom energiinnehåll (produkt), men har lagt fokus på distributionskedjan (plats) och kostnader (pris) ur slutkonsumentens perspektiv.

The present study discusses the metabolism of ethanol in the human body from the ingestion of ethanol to the excretion of its break down products water and carbon dioxide. Ethanol is a small molecule, soluble in water as well as in organic solutions. It is quickly distributed to every section in the body, where it exerts a direct toxic effect on the cells. Ethanol cannot directly leave the body efficiently so it needs other metabolic pathways. The molecule is metabolized by oxidation, predominately in the liver.

Av två anledningar anses det som mycket viktigt att bryta beroendet av olja, naturgas och kol. Den första anledningen är de uppmärksammade klimatförändringarna. Förbränning av fossila bränslen anges idag som huvudorsak till växthuseffekten. Den andra mindre uppmärksammade orsaken är att oljan och naturgasen snart inte räcker till för att föda en allt energihungrigare värld. Utvinningen ser dessutom ut att ha nåt sin kulmen.
