Syftet med vårt examensarbete är att undersöka hur och om pedagogerna använder sig av estetiska lärprocesser i undervisningen. Det finns endast vid ett tillfälle inom so-ämnena som estetik tas upp och det är inom religionen. Detta kan ge en skev uppfattning om hur estetiken ska integreras inom de samhällsorienterade ämnena. Dessvärre är även den teoretiska kunskapen mer överordnad framför den praktiskt-estetiska kunskapen. För att genomföra denna undersökning har vi använt oss av kvalitativa intervjuer där vi har intervjuat sex pedagoger som har minst fem år av arbetslivserfarenhet inom skolverksamheten.

I vårt utvecklingsarbete valde vi att arbeta med några av de estetiska uttrycksformerna; dans, drama, musik och bild som ett hjälpmedel för att stärka barnens sociala kompetens såsom självförtroende och deras tillit till sin egen förmåga. Enligt Lgr 11 (2011) ska barnen få möjlighet att uppleva och pröva olika estetiska uttrycksformer, för att få en varierad undervisning, eftersom alla individer har olika inlärningssätt. Verksamheten ska stärka varje barns självförtroende och de ska få en tillit till sin egen förmåga. Vi sammanställde ett kompendium som innehöll estetiska uttrycksformer och verbala övningar som vi sedan genomförde med barnen. Syftet var att utveckla barnens självförtroende och tillit .

Denna studie är inriktad mot gymnasieskolans Estetiska program och till musikinriktningen där musikpedagogers förhållningsätt, arbetssätt och IT-kompetens undersöks. Undersökningen är en kvalitativ studie där fyra musikpedagoger har intervjuats. Resultatet visar att dessa pedagoger använder IT som verktyg i musikundervisningen och att de ser det främst som ett hjälpmedel. Användningsområdena är dels informationssökning och kommunikation, dels inspelnings- och arrangeringsprogram som integreras med IT-verktygen. Informanterna upplever att tillgängligheten till IT har gjort att läromedlen förändrats och blivit digitala inom musikundervisningen.

Resultatet visar att Open Source inte används i någon större utsträckning men att man är positivt inställd till rörelsen. Några få program har börjat användas men man är orolig för hur supporten fungerar för Open Source-program, sen verkar biblioteken inte ha någon större kontroll över vilka program som faktiskt används utan är styrda av de regler som kommunens IT-avdelning har satt upp..
