ABSTRACT Background: Health and ill-health are multifaceted concepts. Previous research has shown that physical activity and the level of cardio respiratory are important parts of leading a healthy lifestyle. Possibly, it?s so important that the Occupational Health Service should focus even more on this.Aim: The aim was to investigate if there was a relationship between the level of cardio respiratory fitness and self-rated health, and between the level of cardio respiratory fitness and physical and mental ill-health.Method: The study was conducted using a quantitative method in the form of a cross sectional study. Data was collected from an Occupational Health Service, containing answers to a questionnaire on work environment and health and test values ??from completed cycle fitness tests.

Syftet med studien var att belysa hur motivation på arbetsplatsen kan betraktas från ett inre och yttre perspektiv, med utgångspunkt från ett antal specifika faktorer såsom samhörighet, kompetens, autonomi och kontroll i tillvaron. 126 respondenter, 99 kvinnor och 27 män besvarade en enkät som bestod av demografiska frågor, frågor kring chefens stöttande av autonomi, frågor om samhörighet, kompetens och arbetsmotivation samt ett testbatteri bestående av IMI scale, Work Extrinsic and Intrinsic Motivation Scale och Locus of Control. Studiens resultat visar att chefens stöttande av autonomi påverkade de anställdas inre arbetsmotivation positivt. Studien visar även på att det finns ett svagt samband mellan inre arbetsmotivation och tillfredsställelsen av de anställdas behov av autonomi och samhörighetAbstractThe purpose of this study was to see how work place motivation can be seen from an intrinsic and extrinsic perspective, with starting point from specific factors such as relatedness, competence, autonomy and control. Archaeological findings show that ski manufacturing goes back thousands of years in the Nordic region. There is a wealth of literature and film that deals with the subject, but it can be difficult to get an overall picture of how a specific type of traditional ski has been made. The starting point is the documentary "Skidmakaren i Gielas", where the viewer can follow Alfred Israelsson as he makes a pair of skis out of birch wood. However, the documentary lacks important information about how the skis are actually manufactured. Length, width and certain working steps are disclosed.

The aim of this essay is to give the reader an idea of how the European agricultural policies have developed, in regard of sustainable development, since Sweden became a member in the union 1995. The main aspect that?s been investigated is the issues regarding sustainable development and how the issues regarding the ecological farming methods have been dealt with. My research questions are:- How has the European environment- and agricultural politics changed since Swedenjoined the union in 1995?- What consequences have the changes had for ecological farming?The answers to the stated questions are that there have been several treaties in the field of environmental development of the agricultural policy, starting with the Maastricht treaty and ends up with the European Action Plan for Organic Food and Farming.

The purpose of this thesis was to gain an understanding of how Swedish political parties gain knowledge of their voters. The assumptions taken in the thesis were that political parties are using same methods as businesses do to find interesting segments. To attain insight into the purpose of the thesis, two research questions were formulated: how are Swedish political parties obtaining insights in who their potential voters are? With the second question, an attempt is made to answer how the very same parties are using their knowledge about their voter segments. To find answers to those questions, personal interviews were performed with seven political parties.

The aim of the study was to reach a deeper understanding and knowledge about how women with an experience of prostitution perceive what this has meant for them and how it has influenced their lives. The questions of the study were: (1) How has the prostitution experience affected the women in their lives? (2) How have they learnt to deal with this experience? To answer these questions a qualitative method was used where interviews were conducted with four women with experience of prostitution. All women experienced that the prostitution had affected their lives. Examples given that inter alia relationships, sexuality, and self-image had been affected.

The purpose of this essay is to give the reader an insight in the subject of torture. This is done through both an historical perspective and by showing how torture methods are used today, even though torture is prohibited by law. Many refugees who come to Sweden today have survived torture, and the trauma can cause multiple illnesses related to the tragic memories. In addition to physical damage many also suffer from depression and post traumatic stress, due to the experiences of torture.Together with the Swedish Red Cross we designed a questionnaire which was sent to politicians and elected officials. In the questionnaire we asked questions concerning knowledge of injuries due to torture and what treatment options these people have in Sweden.

The purpose of the essay Multi criteria analysis of potential conflicts concerning land use planning - natural stone mining in Lysekil municipal is to study possibilities and limitations in GIS based multi criteria analysis as a tool for land use planning. How GIS based multi criteria analysis can be implemented to localize potential conflict areas between natural stone mining and other land use activities and what advantages and disadvantages the method holds are the main issues of this study. The essay studies these questions through a case study, concerning the geographical area of Lysekil municipal in western Sweden and problematizes the interest of natural stone mining in relation to other land use interests. A literature study was carried through, concerning multi criteria analysis and planning. After collecting and processing of data the multi criteria analysis could be implemented in the ArcGIS tool Weighted Sum.

The aim of the study is to investigate how teachers in grades 1­­­­­­­­­­­?3 use reading aloud to develop the pupils? reading comprehension and how they reflect on the method. The study is based on interviews with four teachers, all of them working in these grades. The interviews have been interpreted hermeneutically and the statements compiled in accordance with the aim and research questions. The results indicate that all the teachers are aware that reading aloud can be used as a resource to develop pupils? reading comprehension.
