Warthogs live under natural conditions in matriarchal groups, bachelor groups and yearling groups. Just like all pig species do warthogs have a complex behaviour repertoire. The semi-wild warthog population at Kichwa Tembo Lodge, outside Masai Mara National Reserve, lives in a fenced area with access to food all over the year and is protected from predators. The aim of this study was to observe the male warthogs? mating behaviour and their hierarchy during the mating season.

Anestesisjuksköterskans arbetsområden förutsätter kunskaper i både det omvårdnadsvetenskapliga och det medicinska området. En operation innebär att patienten ?lägger sitt liv? i någon annans händer och ger sitt förtroende till sjukvårdspersonalen och deras yrkeskunskaper. Sömn är ett normalt tillstånd då en organism en kortare tid är synbart medvetslös och oresponsiv för stimuli. Vad finns det för hjälpmedel för att kunna ge en god sömn? Syftet med studien var att beskriva anestesisjuksköterskors upplevelser av att ge god sömn till patienter.

Arbetet syftar till att oversiktligt beskriva varldens sjofart, studera bladelementteorii en propellerstudie, forprojektera ett handelsfartyg som skafrakta 12 000 TEU (Twenty{Foot Equivalent Unit) mellan Rotterdam ochSingapore pa 40 dagar, samt att utreda regelverket EEDI (Energy EciencyDesign Index) som ska leda till energieektivisering av sjofarten.Undersokning av sjofarten visar att kostnadseektiva sjotransporter har drivitpa utvecklingen mot en globaliserad varld. Tack vare sjofarten har industrierkunnat etablera sig pa nya omraden, men negativ miljopaverkan ar fortfarandeett problem.Under projekteringen visas att containerfartygets huvuddimensioner uppfyllerkrav pa lastutrymme och begransningar i Suez{kanalen. Djupgaendeoch fribord kan andras, men fribord liksom antal vattentata sektioner borundersokas vidare. Fartyget ar nagot kursinstabilt. Tyngpunkten i vertikalledhar en felmarignal pa knappt fyra meter.

The aim of this study is to investigate the prevalence of computer consumption among boys in ninth grade, and to see if there were any differences with regards to physical activity, sleeping habits, breakfast habits and BMI. The study has cross sectional design with a comparative and a quantitative structure and is based on a former study called ?Food & Health 2007?.  The respondents were represented by 181 boys in ninth grade, recruited from ten different schools in the county of Uppsala, who were answering questions about media consumption, breakfast habits, physical activity and sleeping habits. Daily computer consumption was reported up to one hour for 12 % of the respondents, one to three hours for 65 % and over three hours for 42 %. The boys who had a high physical activity level were less frequent in computer consumption while those who had a low physical activity level spent more time by the computer.

Background: It is today common for companies to provide some sort of incentive for CEO's and senior management positions to motivate, retain and benefit employees within a company. This is in order to drive the goals of the CEO and management in the direction that is desired by the owner. Currently, the Swedish centre-right government has forbidden the use of such variable pay within state-owned companies. There are two different attitudes to variable pay, one that is in favour and one that rejects it. However most people agree on the fact that a well-functioning incentive scheme can be of great strategic importance for a company.Approach: has variable pay to CEO's had any effect on the company's profitability.Aim: the aim of the study is to compare companies who use variable pay to CEO's with companies that do not in relation to their profitability in terms of profit margins, yearly performance, returns on total capital and returns on equity.Method: the study uses a quantitative approach.

Syfte: Syftet med denna undersökning är att jämföra aktiefonders avkastning i  relation till tagen risk för tillväxtmarknaderna Afrika, Ryssland och en mer mogen marknad i detta fall Sverige åren 2008-2011.Metod: Till detta arbete används kvantitativ metod med deduktiv ansats. Information har samlats in i form av sekundärdata såsom fondernas kvartal avkastning från Morningstar.Teori: Standardavvikelse, Sharpekvot och Modigliani-Modigliani måttet används för utvärdering.Slutsats: Studien visar att den Svenska mogna marknadens aktiefonder har högst avkastning och lägst risk. Medan fonder med placering i den mer etablerade tillväxtmarknaden Ryssland har högst risk men varken högst eller lägst avkastning i förhållande till Afrika- och Sverigefonderna. Fonderna som investerar i den nyetablerade tillväxtmarknaden Afrika har låg risk likt Sverigefonderna men även låg avkastning. Samtliga fonder utom en hade negativt värde på Sharpekvot.

Detta är också de förutsättningar som gjort Instagram till ett av de största och snabbast växande sociala medierna. På Instagram kan företag dela bilder med innehåll som de vill förknippas med och dra nytta av den virala spridning som kan uppstå.Möjligheten till spridning kan även utgöra en risk då företagen är rädda för negativ publicitet.Denna uppsats har därför som huvudsyfte att undersöka vad företag har att tillföra i värde respektive riskerar i sitt varumärkesbyggande genom att vara aktiva på Instagram.Teoribildningen som används för att analysera och utvärdera varumärkens närvaro på Instagram är kopplade till Brand Equity, Word-of-mouth, Integrerad och Viral marknadsföring. Metoden som använts i studien är en innehållsanalys av det material som publiceras på Instagram av både företag och privata användare.

This thesis deals with classification of the subject field history of medicine. The two classification systems SAB and NLM are compared in order to find out which one is the most adequate to organize a small collection of history of medicine. SAB and NLM are the two most commonly used classification systems in medical libraries in Sweden today. NLM classification system specializes in medicine and SAB is a universal classification system. Our purpose with this study is to find out the pros and cons of each system, whether the systems treat the subject history of medicine in a satisfactory way and what kind of classification system that is better for this assignment, a specific one or a general one.

The global climate-change means increasing mean-temperature and higher precipitation in Sweden, which leads to shorter periods of frozen ground in the forest. At the same time the harvesting machines are getting bigger and more powerful. The forest industry aim at an even wood flow, and the ground damage has to be as low as possible. The two biggest causes for ground-damage is the bearing capacity of the forest ground and the ground-pressure of the harvesting machines. The aim of this study was to find out some rules for the machine choice considering ground pressure, when harvesting on ground with low bearing capacity.A field study, using a Valmet 890.3 forwarder, was carried out where different ground pressures and their effect on the ground were tested on two different types of ground.Additionally, an inventory of damaged harvesting grounds was made.

This thesis aims towards an understanding of information systems and subject representation in relation to academic disciplines. This is achieved by comparing how a discipline, History of science and ideas, represents itself compared with the subject representation of its dissertations in an information system, LIBRIS. The point of departure for this thesis is the domain analytic view of Hjorland which states that the quality in information seeking is enhanced if the subject representation considers the contexts in which documents are produced and used. The importance of concepts such as domain and discipline is discussed. The disciplines view of itself is established by the study of articles written by scholars in the discipline, by how the discipline presents itself on the homepages of five university institutions and by the examination of titles and keywords given to dissertations in the discipline.

Svenska befolkningens hälsa började på allvar att uppfattas som en samhällelig angelägenhet redan under 1700- talet och idag tar det sig uttryck i bland annat mätmetoder som BMI (Body Mass Index), vilket avser att undersöka befolkningens hälsa. Inom BMI området kan en brist på forskning upplevas på bland annat BMI:s påverkan. Människan tillbringar allt mer av sin vakna tid till medier, både professionella och privata aktiviteter fyller människans liv och dessa genomsyras av medietexter, mediebilder och kommunikationstekniker av olika slag. Syftet med denna undersökning var att beskriva hur BMI diskursen utspelar sig vid läsarkommentarer på internetbaserade tidningsartiklar. Metoden som användes i undersökningen var diskursanalys där läsarkommentarer på internetbaserade tidningsartiklar analyserades.

Flera svenska kommuner använder sig av den amerikanska professorn Richard Floridas teori om den kreativa klassen och ?creative cities? i sin marknadsföring. Syftet med mitt kandidatarbete är att undersöka om svenska kommuner är kreativa enligt Floridas teori. En jämförande fallstudie har gjorts där tre kommuner som använder sig av Florida i sin marknadsföring har undersökts. Kommunerna är Södertälje, Botkyrka och Ronneby.

Vi har undersökt hur globaliseringen påverkar aktiemarknaden. Ett sätt att ta reda globaliseringens effekter kan vara att jämföra avkastning och risk för olika marknader. För att kunna göra en jämförelse har vi skapat aktieportföljer baserade på olika marknader och jämfört dessa med ett index som motsvarar världen.Genom några enkla urvalskriterier har vi skapat fyra portföljer med börsnoterade aktier från Norden, Europa, Japan och USA.Portföljerna har vi jämfört med ett världsindex för att se vilka samband som finns och hur de utvecklar sig över tiden. Sambanden vi fann var att korrelationen mellan några av portföljerna och världsindexet är relativt starka samt ökar med tiden. Att korrelationen ökar kan tyda på att företagen blir mer internationellt verksamma med tiden.

The purpose of this study is to investigate, and if possible explain, how background, childhood, and education in a municipal or regional context can affect young peoples? life trajectories.The living conditions for the population in the coastal region Roslagen with its geographical and historical specificities has during centuries largely been characterized by practical crafts-manship. With a growing share of non-permanent residents in the region with demand for help and services, this culture has during the later years been able to prosper. The social reproduc-tion in the municipality also seems to be extensive. In addition to original background, appar-ently the municipality?s service-dominated trade and industry culture has also affected the choice of education and profession of the youth in Norrtälje.

This study aims at examining if abnormal returns have existed on theSwedish stock market surrounding the ex-dividend period between the years2002 and 2006. The ex-dividend period that is studied is the ex-dividend dayplus the following five days. The stocks that have been studied are the thirtymost traded stocks which together constitute the index OMXS30.Furthermore, the study investigates if the size of the dividend has an effecton the size of the abnormal returns.Previously performed studies on both the Swedish stock market and foreignstock markets have shown that abnormal returns exist during the ex-dividendperiod. However, the results from these studies are not unambiguous, why itis interesting to follow up these studies with a new study.The method used for investigating the existence of abnormal returns aroundthe ex-dividend period has taken its starting point in the previouslyperformed studies. However, some changes have been made in order tocalculate for differences in risk between different stocks (using beta) whichhas been neglected in the previous studies.The results of our study are that abnormal returns have existed for four outof six days in the ex-dividend period when calculating a mean value over allfive years.
