The climate crisis represents a serious threat to both people and nature and it will exacerbate existing inequalities, especially for women and girls who are most at risk yet have contributed least to the problem. Climate adaptation is critical to addressing the challenges of climate change, and it requires integrating a gender perspective to take into account the specific vulnerabilities faced by women and girls, as highlighted in the Paris Agreement. This study examines the implementation of gender perspectives in Swedish governmental climate change adaptation strategies. By applying a qualitative content analysis to 24 government agencies? action plans, the study investigates how gender Equality is addressed in the context of climate change adaptation.

Syftet med studien var att studera hur begreppet likabehandling konstrueras genom språketsanvändning i likabehandlingsplaner upprättade i en västsvensk kommun läsåret 2012/2013. Iförhållande till detta formulerades följande frågeställningar. Hur konstrueras begreppetlikabehandling genom språkets användning i likabehandlingsplanerna, vilka likheter ellerskillnader kan urskiljas i hur begreppet likabehandling konstrueras genom språketsanvändning i de olika likabehandlingsplanerna? Studien tar sin utgångspunkt idiskrimineringslagens föreskrifter om att en likabehandlingsplan ska uppträttas iutbildningsverksamheter samt i tidigare forskning om likabehandling i relation till begreppsom rättvisa, diskriminering och värdering. Studiens teoretiska utgångspunkter ärsocialkonstruktionism och symbolisk interaktionism.

This paper analyzes the content of eight Islamic Friday-sermons, held at Chalmers Technical University in Gothenburg in spring 2010, organized by Chalmers Islamiska Förening (CIF) (Chalmers Islamic community).The forces of globalization, the accessibility of information and the Internet have given rise to discourses and movements that know no national boundaries. The accessibility of these global movements and discourses through media, Internet, etc., affect the way Muslims in Sweden interpret and practice their religion. Thus, this paper includes discussions and descriptions of global Islamic revivalist-movements, and relates the contents of the sermons at Chalmers to these movements. In the sermons, the imams often discuss the concept of a global Muslim community, the umma, and their perceptions of the prescribed ethics linked to this community. They often relate this discussion of ethics to frequently discussed issues in the West such as Equality, justice and ethical standards in war.

Introduction: Although life expectancy had increased in Sweden for many decades and several health problems had diminished over time, there was no change in men's risk behaviour regarding for instance high alcohol and tobacco consumption. Many of the gender differences in health that existed in society explained were due to power structures and beliefs about behaviour based on gender; a social construction that resulted in the relatively high valuation of men with a more masculine behaviour. Aim: This literature review aimed to study and identify the scientific knowledge regarding paternity leave and its impact on men's health. Method: A literature- based study design was used and the material consisted of peer-reviewed articles from which six themes were identified: alcohol, tobacco, stress, isolation, social support and mortality risk. Results: Divided into three parts, the results described the socioeconomic background of the men who took paternity leave, as well as the impact of paternity leave and masculinity as an impact on men's health.

Syfte: Syftet med denna studievar att beskriva pappor/partners kunskaper och känslor gällande amning samt hurde resonerar kring jämställdhet och delaktighet när det gäller amning. Metod: En kvalitativ studie där niohalvstrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes. Insamlad data analyserades med enfenomenologisk analysmetod utformad av Giorgi. Resultat: Tre huvudteman utkristalliserades under analysprocessen;Varje huvudtema byggde på ett antal centrala teman. Under huvudtemat Vilja att barnet ska ammas/få bröstmjölkbeskrevs, med hjälp av centrala teman, informanternas vilja att deras barnskulle ammas och/eller få bröstmjölk samt vad denna vilja grundade sig på.Vidare beskrevs under huvudtemat Amningensinverkan på pappor/medmammor, med hjälp av centrala teman, hur amningenpåverkat informanterna känslomässigt på olika sätt.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att belysa hur medvetna musiklärare är om jämställdhetsperspektivet i sin undervisning, om det finns skillnader mellan manliga och kvinnliga lärare och hur lärarna ser på de budskap och värderingar de förmedlar i sin undervisning ur ett jämställdhetsperspektiv. Undersökningen genomfördes på en skola med hjälp av observationer och kvalitativa intervjuer av berörda lärare. De resultat jag kom fram till var att lärarna, en manlig och kvinnlig, i stort sett behandlade sina elever på ett jämställt sätt. Det förekom tendenser till upprätthållande av traditionella könsmönster, men i liten skala. Av resultaten har jag dragit slutsatsen att jag i princip har fått svar på mina forskningsfrågor, men att det skulle behövas mer forskning på området och i större skala.Music teachers at the upper level of compulsory school - A case study of two teachers in a gender perspectiveThe purpose of this article is to illustrate music teachers awareness of the gender perspective in their teaching, if there are any differencies between male and female teachers and how the teachers think about the messages and values they share with the students in their teaching in a gender perspective.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att analysera hur män och maskulinitet framställs i reklam riktad till olika mediegenerationer genom olika TV-plattformar. Frågeställningarna har sitt fokus i att tydliggöra hur männen framställs i reklaminslagen genom bland annat hur de agerar, vilka personlighetstyper som uppvisas och även vilka likheter och skillnader som kan påvisas mellan de olika mediegenerationerna. Studiens urval har sett till att analysera reklaminslag på både traditionell TV och webb-TV för att på så sätt påvisa en skillnad mellan dessa, då reklam idag mer specifikt kan riktas till en speciell målgrupp. Urvalet har också bestått i att urskilja olika mediegenerationer där dessa har legat till grund för den efterföljande resultatdelen. Detta har studerats genom en kvantitativ innehållsanalys där ett kodschema har skapats och resultatet sedan kodats i IBM SPSS.

Directive 2006/54/EG from the European Union concerns the equal rights between men and woman and the principle of equal rights. The purpose of the directive is that the member states provide the equal rights between men and woman. Affirmative action is one exception from the principle of equal rights which is settled in directive 2006/54/EG, article 3. The purpose for the affirmative action must be to encourage the equal rights between men and women.EU has specific criteria to use affirmative action, which is created by praxis of the Court of Justice of the European Union. These criteria are that the affirmative action must involve an objective assessment, there must be equal qualifications between the person which is affirmative action and the person who is not, the positive action cannot be automatically decisive and this special treatment should be proportionate to the purpose.

Den här uppsatsen handlar om HTF:s och Sif:s arbete med jämställdhet och mångfald. Hur de som fackförbund är förebilder med möjlighet att påverka samhället. Uppsatsens syfte är att ur ett genusvetenskapligt perspektiv undersöka och ge exempel på hur förbunden arbetar med jämställdhet och mångfald, internt mot de anställda och externt mot medlemmar samt hur de hanterar sin roll som förebild. De frågor som jag ställt mig har varit följande; Vilka exempel på skillnader finns det mellan retorik och praktik? Hur formuleras syftet med arbetet? Vad står begreppen jämställdhet och mångfald för, vilka attityder och inställningar finns? Vilka exempel på olikheter finns det på förbundens sätt att arbeta med frågor om jämställdhet och mångfald? Uppsatsen är uppbyggd kring tanken om att organisationen och dess medlemmar interagerar och återskapar tankar om genus och mångfald.

Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka hur de ansvariga för jämställdhetsarbetet på Folksam arbetar med jämställdhet. Syftet är även att undersöka vilka normer och kulturer som kan påverka deras jämställdhetsarbete. Detta undersöks genom fyra stycken semistrukturerade intervjuer med två stycken som arbetar internt, med att få just Folksam mer jämställt, och två stycken på Folksam som arbetar externt, med att få andra företag både i Sverige och utomlands att bli mer jämställda. Slutsatsen är att respondenterna på Folksam blir påverkade av normer från till exempel politiken, för att politiken kräver att de ska vara jämställda, men också för att deras kunder vill det. Det är även en lönsamhetsfråga samt en mänsklig rättighet och därför vill de ändra den rådande normen.

Today there is still irrelevant pay differential in society. In Sweden in 2010, the average pay differential was 15,4 percent between the sexes. Only 0,8 percent better than EU:s average.In Sweden the individual salaries increasingly have begun to characterize the Swedish labor market. Based on this, the aim of this study is to highlight the issue of equal pay between men and women from the perspective of individual salary. This would also been doing with a background in the regulatory environment of equal pay.When it comes to Equality between women and men it is the area of labor law in EU who is the most developed and in Sweden this is the area who is most affected by EU law.

Due to the forest industry downsizing, many communities in rural forest regions in Canada and Sweden are facing problems to survive. In order to create community sustainability, resilience and well-being in remote forest regions, the view on the forest resources has shifted towards multiple use, through the concept of sustainable forest management (SFM). Beside the economic and ecological elements of sustainability, the social forest values are needed, contributing to the human well-being, local participation, stakeholder collaboration, human rights and cultural connection. In this thesis the embodiment of the social component of SFM within Prince Albert Model Forest (Canada), and Vilhelmina Model Forest (Sweden) will be examined. Being partners and facing similar challenges as rural boreal forest regions, the two model forests are compared through analysis of projects and activities, conducted interviews and organization documents. Looking at projects mentioned as successful by the interviewees, they all have elements from the social values of SFM. The direction can be explained by the introduction of the Forest Communities Program in Canada, demanding the Model Forests to work towards community stability and resilience, the Model Forest organization concept itself and the way global focus are increasing around social forest values. In the future, it may be important that the role of the MFs enable some kind of political authorization and legitimacy in order to improve conflict solving and indigenous rights Equality.

Denna studie syftar till att studera hur genuspedagogik framställs i den svenska dags- och kvällspressen under åren 2012-2013.  Jag har använt mig av kvalitativ textanalytisk metod och har utifrån en diskursanalytisk ansats analyserat tio artiklar som på olika sätt förhåller sig till genuspedagogik i förskolan. Artiklarna är publicerade av de fyra upplagemässigt största dags-och kväll tidningarna i Sverige dvs. Aftonbladet, Expressen, Svenska Dagbladet och Dagens Nyheter. I resultatet framträder två distinkta diskurser om genuspedagogik i förskolorna: I artiklarna skrivs det om genuspedagogik som att pedagogiken ?går emot? biologi/natur men även att genuspedagogiken är en demokratisk rättighet. De hinder som lyfts fram om genuspedagogik är att pedagogiken är en könsneutralisering av barnet, att genuspedagogiken endast är uppbyggd av en ?ideologi? och att det är ett experimenterande med barnet i förskolan som vissa genuspedagoger ägnar sig åt.

The main purpose of this thesis is to analyze laws that completely prohibit abortion through a legal philosophical perspective. To demonstrate that abortion blanket bans cannot be seen as legally legitimate, the author has completed a literature study where she uses Robert Alexy?s ?Concept of Law? to analyze abortion laws both in general, and in Nicaragua in particular.Based upon Alexy?s ?Concept of Law? the author has identified three relevant key elements ? social efficacy, the argument from injustice and correctness of content - which she uses in her analysis. In order to apply these three elements on the total abortion ban, she then uses four different analysis tools - feminist theory, Human Rights, deontology analysis and right analysis. This has enabled a thorough analysis of the total ban on abortion that has demonstrates that such laws cannot be considered legitimate.By highlighting the human rights violations the law entails, one can conclude that the law has a social impact.
