This thesis analyzes contemporary Swedish discourse on Russia, i.e. the ways Russia and Russians are perceived in Sweden today. After a summary of historical Western and Swedish perceptions of Russia, and a discussion about the treatment of these tensions within modern research, contemporary Swedish discourse is reconstructed based upon analytical articles in three major newspapers during the period 1992-2007. It is argued that the prevailing image of Russia contains the reproduction of old stereotypes and prejudices. The five major representations of Russia in contemporary Swedish discourse are: non-Western, unreliable, authoritarian, threatening and eternal, with the last one being a meta-representation functioning both as a representation of its own and a mechanism for the reification of the others.

Krypteringens historia är lång och händelserik, vilket ett system som Ceasarchiffer som snart är 2000 år gammalt kan vittna om. Den här litteraturstudien syftar till att ta dig som läsare med genom krypteringens utveckling från antikens pergament till dagens datoriserade samhälle. På vägen genom historien har studien som målsättning att förklara för läsaren hur de olika krypteringssystemen som figurerat genom tiden har fungerat, och att lyfta fram matematik bakom systemen. Mot slutet av texten beskrivs dessutom hur kryptering skulle kunna fungera som inslag i skolans matematikundervisning. Här är syftet att inspirera lärare till att pröva på något nytt i sin undervisning, vilket kan leda till ökad motivation.

The relationship between color and music, and their relation to the human being and our surrounding universe has been subject of studies, theories and experiments since the old ages. From the ancient China and Persia to the present times, philosophers, scientists and artists have tried to explain these connections between color and music and also tried to find answers to this ancient Enigma.The invention of the color organ c. 1730, an instrument that was intended to display color in addition to the musical auditive experience, was the first attempt to materialize the practical correlation between notes and color. This correlation has its foundation in the ideas of Isaac Newton, who through his book Optics published only a few years earlier, conformed the beginning of a new art culture: ?Visual music?, in which image and sound are the fundamental elements in the creative process.The ?visual music? concept is not only grounded in the ideas of music and sound, but also in the extraordinary creative capability of certain individuals.

Både nationella och internationella utvärderingar, samt betygsstatistiken visar att de svenska högstadieelevernas resultat i ämnet matematik dalar. Många elever uppfattar ämnet som svårt och granskningar visar att matematiklektionerna ofta är enformiga och mestadels består av elevernas eget arbete läroböckerna. Denna studies syfte är att undersöka vad eleverna själva har för attityder till matematiken, vad de anser om olika arbetssätt inom ämnet, samt hur de skulle vilja förbättra den matematikundervisning de får idag. För att besvara dessa frågor har jag gjort en enkätstudie med 117 elever från årskurs sju och åtta i en högstadieskola i Svealand, Sverige. Resultatet av studien visar att många elever uppfattar matematiken som svår och det är inte ett av de ämnen eleverna tycker mest om i skolan.
