The purpose of this thesis is to identify the factors that drive efficiency and effectiveness in technical development projects performed at A?F?s department of product development. In addition to identifying and analyzing these factors, the thesis also analyzes what needs to be taken in to account in order to implement a measurement system that is able to both monitor and control the identified factors.The thesis has been performed in a qualitative manner. AbstractThe market?s demand to purchase more cost effective products is continuously increasing. The producers are forced to become more efficient and flexible with resources to produce high quality products at a low cost in order to maintain or increase market shares. With this in mind Isaberg Rapid AB is requesting a project to increase efficiency in the assembly cell of hammertackers. The company has found in Kaizen-events that there is a potential of efficiency improvements in the assembly group that has not been achieved.The objective with this paper is to identify the major factors that influence the efficiency in the assembly cell for hammertackers.

Energy efficiency is today more important than ever, mainly due to the high energy prices and the approaching climate changes. Heating of buildings is an essential area within energy efficiency. Many buildings are old and were built at a time when the energy prices were low and the term ?energy efficiency? was unheard of. By applying today?s broad range of energy saving actions on these old, and thereby often, heating ineffective buildings, this area has a large potential in reducing energy consumption and costs.Churches and chapels are generally old buildings with, in many cases, ineffective heating systems and therefore consume much more energy than needed.

In the spring of 2014 Sweco Systems AB were commissioned to design a ventilation system for a newly built preschool in Linköping. Terms from the client was that it cost efficiency would cope with the energy demands that are placed on the building. The unit chosen was a cross-flow heat exchanger, and this work is to compare it with two other heat exchangers to see if a more energy and cost efficient could have been chosen. The heat exchangers that was chosen for the comparison was a rotating- and a counterflow heat exchanger. Simulations have been made to the different heat exchangers by the manufacturers.

This thesis concerns to investigate renovations of existing buildings aiming at enabling energy efficiency, from a conservation and restoration perspective. This includes performing case studies of three projects in the Gothenburg area where renovations has been done and an analysis of directives raised by the EU and later implemented by the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning, Boverket. In addition to these, regulations enforced by the Swedish law, related to the topic, have been considered.The investigated projects in this case were the housing cooperative Välten in Brämaregården, the Solar Buildings in Järnbrott and Gårdsten as well as Katjas Gata 119 at Backa Röd. In order to measure and compare the results of these projects a comparison between the pre- and post-restoration energy consumption have been performed. To capture additional perspectives the grading system Operation Kungsörn has been applied.Regarding the comparison of energy consumption the renovation of Katjas Gata 119 was found preferable but showed in my view lacking attention to the cultural heritage of the area.

The aim of this thesis is to answer whether a group of databases dedicated to selling books or a group of databases dedicated to lending books is more efficient. The measurements used to determine the efficiency of the two kinds of databases are Cumulated Gain and precision in modified versions. The inquiry has been conducted thus that the same 18 queries have been put forth to six databases and these results have consequently been judged according to relevance on a 4-graded scale by five respondents. The rankinglevels have then been merged to one average value per respondent and ranking. These values have then been used to determine CG/iCG/nCG and P@n per query, rank 1-10, per database and per group (the groups being STORE (BUTIK) and LIBRARY (BIBLIOTEK).

Syftet med denna uppsats är att utifrån den kvalitativa undersökningen ta fram nya idéer som kan få ungdomar och unga vuxna mellan 15-30år att bli mer motiverad till att återvinna matavfall. Rapporten har tagit stöd av innovationsteorier samt tidigare forskningar. Den empiriska delen för rapporten grundar sig på personlig intervju med Reiner Schulz som är verksamhetsansvarig för avfallshanteringsenheten på Eskilstuna Energi & Miljö. Vidare har kvalitativa undersökningar med åtta respondenter i åldrarna mellan 15-30år genomförts varav av fyra tjejer och fyra killar.Valet av Eskilstuna Energi & Miljö är på grund av att jag under min högskolestudie tid har arbetat där som informatör och har därför kännedom om företaget. Vidare är valet av ungdomar i Eskilstuna ett bekvämlighetsurval eftersom dessa personer är arbetskollegor och även inom min vänkrets.Innovationsbidragen som presenteras i rapporten är en applikation till smartphones och en utvecklad matavfallspåse som innehåller information om källsortering för matavfall.

Varberg Energi anser att de på ett mer tydligt sätt skulle kunna fördela sina overheadkostnader. Fördelningen av overheadkostnaderna sker på företagets rörelsegrenar som är elnät, gasnät, fjärrvärme och kabel-TV/IT. Genom fördelningen av sina overheadkostnader vill Varberg Energi få rättvisande resultat som de kan fatta beslut på. Fördelningen av overheadkostnaderna sker i Varberg Energis budget för de olika rörelsegrenarna och i den interna redovisningen. Budgeten används bland annat för planering av ekonomin.

Att vi behöver göra något åt rådande miljösituationen är det få som tvekar på. Elbilar kommer mer och mer som ett alternativ till de konventionella fordonen och det satsas mycket på förnybara energikällor.Med en introduktion av elbilar i samhället kommer behovet av elenergi att öka. Inledningsvis kommer elbehovet endast påvekas marginellt och genom att ladda under nattetid när elkonsumtionen är låg kommer nuvarande produktion att räcka ända fram till att hälften av vår fordonsflotta är elektrifierad. När sedan antalet bilar ökar ytterligare krävs en förändring för att klara av det ökade behovet av elenergi. Med den potential våra förnybara energikällor har så visar denna rapport att det kommer klaras av gott och väl.

Syftet med vårt examensarbete har varit att undersöka elevers förståelse kring energibegreppet och energiomvandlingar. Vi ville även undersöka det naturvetenskapliga begreppet energi i relation till elevers vardagsföreställningar. Detta har vi tagit reda på genom att fördjupa oss i en mängd litteratur som behandlar områden kring energi. Vi genomförde en enkätundersökning på två olika skolor med elever i årskurs 8 och elever som går andra året på gymnasiet. Undersökningen hjälpte oss att besvara våra forskningsfrågor som behandlar energiomvandlingar, energikedjor och energins bevarande.
