För att fa? en djupare förståelse för hur yta kan frigöras och användas har en studie genomförts på Villa VIDA som idag inte har tillräckligt med fri yta för kapacitetsökning. När nuläget analyserades kunde det konstateras att lagerbildningar på produktionsyta och ett måleri var det som hindrade företaget från att expandera. Baserat på det nuvarande läget genererades två alternativa layouter. I det ena förslaget valdes outsourcing av måleriet för att frigöra ännu mer yta och få plats med en kapacitetsökning på 50 % istället för 25 % som hade blivit resultatet om måleriet bevarats.

För att Swepart Transmission AB ska fortsätta att hålla en hög standard på produkter som levereras till kunder, ska monteringslinan för Power Take-Off säkras. Budgeten som är avsatt till att kvalitetssäkra monteringslinan är 500 000 kr. Pick-to-Light och Pick-to-Voice är system som kan användas för att kvalitetssäkra monteringen av Power Take-Off. Systemen jämfördes med systemet med monteringskort som används i nuläget. Det mest lämpliga att införa har visat sig vara Pick-to-Light.I samband med införandet av detta system måste utredningar göras för vilka komponenter som behöver sensorer och vilka som kan säkras på andra sätt.

Examensarbetet har utförts på Danderyds sjukhus, ett akutsjukhus i norra Stockholm med uppdrag att erbjuda sjukvård till drygt 440 000 invånare, och närmare bestämt på hjärtsektionen inom akutmottagningen (hjärtakuten).Med utgångspunkt i nya interna målsättningar samt de statligt satta målen, att 80 % av patienterna ska färdigbehandlas inom 4 timmar på akutmottagningar från år 2009, påbörjades ett förändringsarbete på Danderyds sjukhus akutmottagning. Detta förändringsarbete mynnade ut i ett nytt flöde och arbetssätt, benämnt Lean, på akutmottagningen och implementerades i början av 2009. Efter att ha använt det nya arbetssättet i ett år finns behov att utvärdera förändringen och utveckla förändringsarbetet. Syftet med examensarbetet fastställdes därför till att kartlägga de förändringar som gjorts på hjärtakuten och vilken effekt som förändringarna gett. Detta för att kunna föreslå fortsatt arbete med att förbättra flödet genom hjärtakuten.Med hjälp av observationer och intervjuer kartlades patientflödet genom hjärtakuten före och efter förändringen.

Purpose- The purpose of this project is to contribute to the knowledge of creating customer value through streamlining and coordination of patient flows for children and youth with frequent need of care on child and youth medical clinics.Method- One of the methods used for achieving the project's purpose is a case study on the Child and Youth Medicine Clinic at Länssjukhuset Ryhov in Jönköping. The case study has been used for collecting the empirical data that has been generated through interviews, observations and documents from the Child and Youth Health Clinic. Except the case study the authors also made studies in literature, which the collected empirical data has been anchored and related to. Together this led to the project's analysis and results.Results- When investigating the questions found in chapter one, it was determined standardized work is of great importance to create structure and implement procedures for the patient flows. A weak link in the patient flow has been identified, which is the sub-process coordination and planning.

Södersjukhuset i Stockholm är ett sjukhus som har påbörjat förändringsarbete för att kunna möta framtidens krav på högkvalitativ vård från patienter och samtidigt uppfylla ekonomiska krav från ägaren Stockholms Läns Landsting. Denna rapport är resultatet av en grundlig genomgång av dagens centrala provanalyssystem på Södersjukhuset med syfte att effektivisera systemet för att möta framtida krav.I arbetet kartläggs flödet av patienter och prover som behandlas antingen på de provtagningsintensiva medicinska mottagningarna eller på avdelning 27. Eftersom omkring 85 % av volymen av analyser som beställs på dessa enheter är klinisk kemiska har det analyserande arbetet inriktats på just dessa flöden. För vissa klinisk kemiska analyser finns det ett alternativ till central laboratorieanalys, patientnära analys, som innebär att tiden från provtagning till provsvar finns tillgängligt förkortas markant. I rapporten tas för- och nackdelar med patientnära analys upp och dess applicerbarhet på Södersjukhuset diskuteras.

How affected are the sugar production in Mozambique and Tanzania by EU sugar regime? What does the EU sugar reform constitute in these countries?Using theories regarding free trade and anti-free trade, I am able to answer these questions. The aim of this paper is to study how the various sugar agreements with EU affect the sugar production in Mozambique and Tanzania. Therefore I am using a method called a most similar system design in this comparative case study. The conclusion is that the EU sugar regime is the main reason to how the sugar productions in developing countries are.

The purpose of this report is to survey Swedex AB?s production costs and to gather all info into a manageable calculation tool. This was made by time and motion studies, interviews of the personnel. All factors were gathered into an Excel chart.The calculation was made according to an additional-charge-method that was considered to satisfy Swedex AB?s goal.

The ambition of this project is to make an overview of the Swedish upholstery industry and to make a suitable complement to the Carl Malmsten upholstery collection.The Swedish furniture industry employs about 20 000 people in 815 companies. Totally the branch had a turnover of 17,5 billion Swedish krona in the year 2000. Of these 815 companies most of them are small family driven companies with low-tech industry. 10 % of the 815 companies stand for 60% of the production. These are large-scale companies and have a hi-tech industry, even compared with other types of industries.

FYROM has a long tradition of producing wine. Wine production in FYROM is one of the greatest contributors of the agricultural share of their GDP. The aim of the thesis is to see if the wine production in FYROM has a comparative advantage compared to other countries that produce wine and if FYROM is able to sustain the advantage in the future. The countries chosen for comparison are Bulgaria, Croatia, France and Italy. The methods used in the thesis are the Balassa Index and Porter?s Diamond of National Advantage.

The Swedish processor Findus contracts approximately 500 pea producers annually to secure the company?s supply of green peas for human consumption. A production contract, which has had roughly the same design for decades, regulates the relation between Findus and the pea producers. Agriculture is typically a risky business. The main sources of risk in agricultural production are production risk and price risk.

Increased competition in the IT industry has sparked a need for developing faster innovation processes with more predictable output. One of the biggest issues when it comes to achieving a faster flow through the innovation process lies in managing its high degree of variation. Proposing a solution to this problem, Lean Software Development (LSD), was developed to provide a framework for how IT companies should organize its software development process to achieve increased speed and quality. This study examines to which extent LSD, as a set of values, principles, methods and tools, can be used to improve flow efficiency in the innovation process. A case study of a multinational IT company was made by conducting ten semi-structured interviews with current employees.

The purpose of this study is from a case study develop a model that aims to cost effectively improve productivity in a manufacturing production process. En omfattande datorisering inom företagsvärlden har skapat ett beroende av informationssystem (IS) som kan hantera och lagra information efter verksamhetens behov. Genom att investera i nya och mer effektiva IS kan verksamheter skaffa sig verktyg där de effektivt kan prioritera och allokera de resurser som finns tillgängliga. Detta gör det möjligt att omdefiniera arbetsprocesser och sysselsättningsrutiner och därmed spara arbetskraft genom att automatisera och eliminera en del uppgifter. Dock finns det en del faktorer som påverkar implementeringen av IS, exempelvis brist på resurser, teknik och kompetens. Dessa faktorer gör det många gånger mer problematiskt att utveckla IS i utvecklingsländer.Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur en organisation med begränsade resurser, kan effektiviseras genom att använda sig utav Lean IT.

This master thesis was conducted at Motala Wire Works Ltd (MWW) in Motala during the autumn and winter of 2007-2008. The thesis named ?Future layout of Motala Wire Works? focuses on making a better planed layout for the factory, which also take in to consideration future changes.Motala Wire Work produces wire mesh products of varying sorts for the white goods industry. The factory was started by Electrolux during the 1950?s.

Då kopparpriserna steg i höjden under börjanav 2000-talet har företagen inom kopparindustrin blivit tvingade att effektiviseraproduktionen för att bli konkurrenskraftigare. I viss mån har kunderna fåttacceptera en prisökning på grund av kopparpriserna. Faktumet att kunderna haraccepterat en stegring av prisläget hindrar inte industrin från att kontinuerligtförsöka förbättra befintlig produktion.Uppgiften som ålåg författarna var att hitta en metod för att öka produktiviteten idivisionen ?Tele-Metall?.
