In claims for unfair dismissal due to alleged redundancy, the burden of proof should be shared to enable an employee to have the cause of redundancy tried. In such a case, the employee should present evidence of an invalid cause ? such as personal reasons ? and the employer should account for the redundancy. With reference to their conflicting interests, the law favours the employer if the redundancy can be accounted for even if the employee maintains his or her position. This would have been reasonable practice if the employer?s evidence was subject to the same scrutiny as that of the employee but, as long as redundancy is considered a valid cause in itself, this is not the case.Redundancy does not come from nowhere, but it occurs when employers carry out their management decisions.

The purpose of this study is to investigate how twelve middle school teachers use educational tools and what influences their choice of educational tools in Swedish language writing instruction. To answer this purpose, three research questions were formulated: What does writing instruction look like for middle school students according to the teachers in the study? What influences teachers' choice and use of educational tools in writing instruction? What opportunities and challenges do teachers experience in Swedish language writing instruction when using different educational tools? Twelve teachers from variously sized municipalities and with different experiences participated in the study through purposive sampling and convenience sampling. The chosen method is qualitative semi-structured teacher interviews. To analyse the results, this study employs analytical tools from the sociocultural perspective, using concepts such as mediation, appropriation, the zone of proximal development, and scaffolding. The results show that both analogue and digital tools are used in the teachers' writing instruction. The choice of tools should be based on pedagogical considerations, with an emphasis on social interaction and collaboration during the learning process.

They are general agent for Nordic Gymwho works with manufacturing of equipment and machines for gym and fitness.The aim of this study was to generate a method of measurement to evaluate and controlthe biomechanics of Nordic Gym´s workout equipment. A protocol for an ergonomicanalysis on the equipment has also been elaborated.One of the methods to measure the biomechanics was to measure the torque through thewhole movement.

Personalutbildning och lön ? hänger det ihop? : En studie om sambandet mellan personalutbildning och lön med fokus på köns- och sektorsskillnader

Löneskillnader mellan kvinnor och män på arbetsmarknaden är ett väl utforskat ämne i tidigare studier, såväl i Sverige som internationellt. Dessa studier utgår ofta ifrån att löneskillnaderna beror på olika investeringar i humankapital mellan kvinnor och män eller att vissa grupper utsätts för diskriminering på arbetsmarknaden.I denna uppsats undersöks betydelsen av personalutbildning för lön med fokus på sektorstillhörighet och könsskillnader i avkastning från sådan utbildning. Detta görs utifrån humankapitalteorins antaganden om att utbildning ökar individers produktivitet och i förlängningen lönen. I uppsatsen ges en teoretisk bakgrund till hur personalutbildning förväntas inverka på lön samt hur avkastningen från personalutbildning förväntas skilja sig för kvinnor och män och offentlig respektive privat sektor.För att undersöka detta används svensk riksrepresentativ data från Levnadsnivåundersökningen 2000. Analysen genomförs i tre delar där hela arbetsmarknaden först studeras följt av två analyser där offentlig respektive privat sektor studeras separat.Resultaten visar på ett klart samband mellan personalutbildning och högre lön, förutsatt att kausalitetsförhållandet inte är det omvända.

What makes generation Y jump : en kvantitativ studie av hur den nya generationen bankanställda motiveras av monetära och icke-monetära incitament

Right now a major generational change is taking place within the banking sector. The new generation entering the labor market is often referred to as generation Y and it consists of individuals born between 1980 and 1995. Previous research has shown that the banking industry as a whole put a widespread emphasis on monetary incentives within the reward system. At the same time several studies highlight that individuals from generation Y are rather motivated by primarily non-monetary incentives.The aim of this dissertation is to explain how various monetary and non-monetary incentives affect the motivation of bank employees from generation Y. A positivistic research philosophy has been used with a deductive approach and a quantitative research method.This study indicates that bank employees from generation Y are motivated by retirement savings as well as a personal mentor or chief who draws attention to their development.

I hopp om att bota : När chefsvakanser möter få ansökningar

Syfte: Syftet är att skapa en ökad förståelse för hur offentliga verksamheter i mindre kommuner uppfattar och hanterar utmaningarna vid chefsrekrytering samt vad som ligger till grund för hur de hanterar det. Metodik: En tvärsnittsstudie på offentlig sektor i Kalmar Län har använts som forskningsstrategi med en induktiv ansats. Genom en kvalitativ metod med åtta semi-strukturerade intervjuer har vi producerat fram data. Slutsats: Studien har visat att offentliga verksamheter i mindre kommuner upplever ett problem i att finna lämpliga kandidater till chefstjänster, men ser inte det som krisartat. För att hantera rekryteringssvårigheterna utnyttjar offentliga verksamheter i mindre kommuner både operativa och strategiska åtgärderna.

Indirekt blodtrycksmätning på katt : påverkan av metod, miljö och ålder

The purpose of the present study was to study if the systemic blood pressure in cats significant increases due to stress associated with a visit to a veterinarian clinic. We also wanted to investigate the clinical utility of two different methods for indirect blood pressure measurements in cats by assessing how easy they were to use and how reliable measurements they provided. The methods that were used were oscillometric (Memo Diagnostic) and ultrasound-doppler technique (Minidop). The blood pressure was measured in both clinical environment and home environment. Fifty cats were used in the study, from which measurements were impossible to obtain in one cat.

Unga sexuella förövare : En studie om den professionella rollen i behandling

The purpose of this study is to examine what professionals tell about stress, rewards, impact and treatment in the professional treatment with young sexual offenders. Eleven qualitative interviews of half-structured design brought up results about the professional role in the treatment process. During the interviews the professionals described which methods of treatment they work with. We examined the methods through literature research, which was added to the study whit the purpose of strengthening the interview data. The professionals consider their work important and meaningful and they feel safe in their working role.

Hur påverkar organisationsstrukturen genomförandet av social dokumentation

The purpose of this study has been to analyze how managers within the elderly care who operate according to the Social Services Act work to support the assistant nurses with the social documentation. In order to achieve my purpose and to be able to answer the research questions, a qualitative approach was selected. My empirical material consists of seven interviews, four with assistant nurses and three with managers. Anthony Giddens? structuration theory in Månsson, (2003 s. 422) has been my theoretical starting-point and the concepts of practical and discursive consciousness have been used in the analysis.

Fysisk självkänsla hos barn och ungdomar med Aspergers syndrom

Background: It is common that children and adolecsents with Aspergers syndrome have impaired motor skills and are less physically active than neurotypical children and adolecsents. Studies conducted on neurotypical children shows that children and adolecsents who are regular physical active also have a good motor control and a good physical self-esteem. The purpose of this study was to investigate the physical self-esteem of children and adolescents with Aspergers syndrome. Study Group: 36 children and adolescents aged 9-15 years with a diagnosis of Aspergers syndrome was asked to participate in the survey. 18 children, 16 boys and 2 girls, responded to the questionnarie about physical self-esteem which 17 of the answers could be used in the study.

Companies learn through their employees. In this paper I make research into how knowledge transfer and learning occur at Metso Paper Karlstad AB, which is a partly project based organization.The result is that there are many factors that affect the knowledge transfer in a company. Knowledge transfer occurs mainly between individuals within the company, but also between departments and other actors outside the company. In the gaps between these actors, there is a risk that knowledge is not transferred, which is an obstacle to learning. A great deal of the knowledge transfer and the learning is carried out through individual?s own drive and motivation.

Hotellverksamheter på Makarska rivieran : en undersökning av dess kvalitet, servicenivå och tillgänglighet

Background and problem: In Croatia, the hotel industry has undergone difficult and unstable conditions since the 90s. Since 2001, however the results in the sector has improved due to increased investment in the renovation of facilities and construction of new hotels.Purpose: The study aims to examine hotel operations on the Makarska Riviera on the basis of tourist business perspective, and examine its quality, service and accessibility.Method: In this study we used a qualitative approach. The survey was conducted through structured interviews and a non-participant observation.Result and conclusions: Satisfied and fulfilled employees, in turn that the hotels will have satisfied customers and may have profitable operations. Many hotels aim at constantly working to improve profitability and customer satisfaction. When measuring customer satisfaction, many hotel owners felt that the service is good and that they have received a good response from their guests.

Välmående och olika träningsformer : Skillnader i välmående mellan de som tränar kondition, styrka och båda dessa träninsformer

Befolkningens fysiska aktivitet har minskat och psykiskt nedsatt välbefinnande har blivit ett folkhälsoproblem. Därför är denna uppsats intresserad och undersöka skillnader i välmående för grupper med olika träningsvanor. Detta för att om det finns någon träningsform som är högre associerad med högt välmående så kunde den rekommenderas för dem som vill öka och befästa välmående. Grupperna som valdes var de som tränar styrka, kondition eller båda två. Undersökningen var också intresserad av att se om det var någon skillnad på dem som utövade idrott i förening eller inte samt de som tränade styrketräning eller kondition med andra eller inte.

In this thesis I have discussed about conflict management in school, from a teacher´s perspective. Focus has been on Swedish schools, especially on the teachers who are active in primary school. Several perspectives have been given, including an intercultural approach which has been the most recurrent. The importance of teachers? emotional maturity, knowledge about democracy and values, as well as teacher?s impact by being a sharp leader in different ways are other subjects the essay has touched.

Ultraljudsundersökning av aorta för abdominella aortaaneurysm

Bakgrund: Röntgensjuksköterskor får ingen verksamhetsförlagd utbildning i att utföra ultraljudsundersökningar av aorta med avseenden på abdominella aortaaneurysm och utför därför inga sådana undersökningar. Röntgensjuksköterskor har viss teoretisk utbildning inom ultraljud. Ungefär 1 000 personer avlider årligen i följder av abdominella aortaaneurysm. Det finns beräkningar som visar att cirka 30 000 av alla män och 6 000 av alla kvinnor i Sverige över 65 år har ett oupptäckt aortaaneurysm.Syfte: Att belysa hur omfattande teknisk träning röntgensjuksköterskor behöver för att utföra ultraljudsundersökning av aorta med avseende på förekomst av abdominella aortaaneurysm och att belysa behovet av den kompetensen.Metod: En systematisk litteraturöversikt valdes för att få en bild av forskningsläget. Översikten bygger på 14 artiklar ur databaserna PubMed, Scopus och Cinahl.Resultat: Det framgick att bland andra läkarstuderande och läkare utan tidigare erfarenhet av ultraljud i olika länder på kort tid har kunnat utbildas till ultraljudsoperatörer av aorta med avseende på förekomst av abdominella aortaaneurysm.
