Business Intelligence har under de senaste åren vuxit starkare fram och innefattar nu en hel yrkesroll i gränslandet mellan teknik och företagsekonomi. Detta syns framförallt inom det företagsekonomiska området och särskilt inom ekonomistyrningen. Denna uppsats försöker besvara frågorna ?Hur har utveckling upp till idag av Business Intelligence sett ut?? och ?Vilka trender finns idag inom Business Intelligence ur ett företagsekonomiskt perspektiv??. Uppsatsen behandlar inte något specifikt verktyg eller systemleverantör utan har som utgångspunkt att undersöka trender inom floran av systemverktyg utan att för den sakens skull gå in på någon specifik lösning. Business Intelligence historia summeras upp utifrån 60-talet fram till idag och ett antal trender presenteras i punktform.

Anställda i det studerade kunskapsföretaget verkar undervärdera vikten av det ledarskap den formelle ledaren utövar. Detta har vi illustrerat med en egenhändigt konstruerad ?tonåringsmetafor?. Vidare har vi kommit till slutsatsen att informella ledare och en stark företagskultur är faktorer som på ett framgångsrikt sätt kan komplettera ovan nämnda ledarskap..

It is now increasingly common for organisations to work actively with HR issues. Furthermore, it is a constant top priority for organisations to remain profitable. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether so called soft HR values, as manager?s communication skills, has an actual impact on hard values in terms of costs for the organisation. Leadership is largely characterised by emotional communication, which together with personnel costs were the main focus of the research.

Background: A nurse who is working in the health care is expected to show the best side for other people. An emotional work demands a lot of the role of a nurse, when she has to deal with her feelings after the given situation to satisfy the patient.Aim: The purpose of the study is to seek understanding of what nurses perceive to be the essence of the emotional work in health care. The study also wants to understand what factors could affect the meeting both positively and negatively between nurse and patient in social interactionMethod: The study?s methodology is qualitative with phenomenological-hermeneutical approach to seek understanding of the six interviewed nurses lived experiences and the experiences of the emotional work.Results: The result has four main themes developed: Emotional management, to consider the patients existential needs, meeting the patient and to do something meaningful.Conclusion: The essence of the perceived emotional work for nurses is emotional transformation where the nurse changes her feelings by acting according to the situation in the meeting with the patient. This study concerns how organizations manage various problematic areaswhen implementeing Business Intelligence and experiences from BusinessIntelligence project failures on management level. In order to highlightthese questions, we have carried out interviews with four organizationswhich have great experience in working with Business Intelligence on adaily basis.The result of the study shows that all organizations deal with difficultiesregarding cost-benefit issues and justification concerning BusinessIntelligence investments. The result also showed that the organizationsfaced difficulties with integration concerning time and cost. Documentingand securing support systems presented different attitudes between theorganizations, primary in the question about sub complements to BusinessIntelligence and in the way that they were documented. In the discourse oflegal issues and privacy the majority of the organizations chose not to storepersonal information relative to legal security demands.

On the behalf of the European commission suggestions were made on how to increase the usage of public transportation in cities in Europe. A suggestion on how to make public transportation more popular was to use more emotions when marketing public transportation. However, according to theory emotional marketing is best suited for products that have a more hedonic character which public transportation does not usually have. The aim of this report was to investigate if emotional marketing could have a more positive effect on the attitude toward public transportation than less emotional marketing. Ads for the metro in Stockholm were made and it was tested to what degree they conveyed positive emotions.

The aim of this study was to investigate emotions and emotion regulation of a downsizing in an industrial company. The sample consisted of persons who had experienced a downsizing but have kept the employment, within a same position or being transferred to another one. Data consisted of two focus group interviews, analysed by an inductive thematic analysis. The results have indicated that emotional reactions changed over time as well the emotional regulation did during the different phases. The groups differed in emotional reaction related to the time of decision regarding the retention of employment.

Beslut innebär att välja mellan olika alternativa handlingar för att uppnå de angivna målen. För att underlätta beslutsfattande finns det ett antal olika stödsystem som tar fram underlag till besluten. Vi är intresserade av att se hur dessa understödjer strategiskt beslutsfattande och till vilka typer av beslut som de används.Uppsatsens syfte är att granska beslutsstöds betydelse och hur beslutsstöd kan underlätta organisationens verksamhet och dess beslutsprocesser. Vi vill skapa en bakomliggande förståelse om beslutstöds användbarhet och huruvida beslutsstöd används, samt i vilken utsträckning. Vi vill även undersöka de nackdelar som skapas i och med användandet av beslutsstöd.Studien visar att användning av Business Intelligence effektiviserar beslutsprocessen och möjliggör för ett ökat proaktivt agerande.

Den globala ekonomin har gjort att företag är beroende av säker information som ska hjälpa dem att fatta bättre beslut. Allt fler företag agerar på den globala marknaden vilket gör konkurrensen större. Därför behöver företag allt mer och säkrare information. Deföretag som har många konkurrenter behöver mycket information om dessa för att kunna fatta beslut som kommer att ta dem ett steg före konkurrenterna. Att kunna anpassa sig i denna omvärld ställer stora krav på företagen.

Business Intelligence och realtids Business Intelligence har blivit ett område som allt fler företag intresseras av. Forskningen idag involverar en rad företag som koncentrerar sig på stora kund-, produkt- och tjänstevolymer. Ett av dessa företag är flygbolaget Continental Airlines. Detta bolag har funnit sju faktorer som bör beaktas då en realtids BI-lösning ska anammas. Detta arbete kommer att lägga fokus på en av dessa faktorer. Denna faktor säger att realtids BI endast levererar något värde om besluts- och affärsprocessen ändras i enlighet med den IT-lösning som införs i företaget.Under denna studie kommer det att undersökas hur denna faktor fungerar i mindre organisationer.

The information market is constantly changing. With new and improved information technology more people get access to more information faster. However, the number of people educated to handle information also increases. Business intelligence has for a long time been a well-known tool for companies to be competitive. Because of the increased access to information the competition between companies has intensified and more people have become aware of the advantages of business intelligence and how it can help them compete.

Business Intelligence är en samling verktyg för att utvinna och analysera information ur rådata inom en organisation samt ge bättre beslutsstöd grundat på denna. Det har traditionellt använts inom industrisektorn, men på senare tid har även sjukvårdssek- torn upptäckt fördelarna med ett välimplementerat system för Business Intelligence. Implementationen är emellertid en komplex process där mycket kan gå fel, och på grund av att sjukvårdssektorn relativt nyligen började använda sig utav Business Intel- ligence finns luckor i forskningen på området. Syftet med uppsatsen var att undersöka hur sjukvården i Region Halland samt involverade konsulter arbetar med implemen- tationen, och ta fram riktlinjer för hur detta bör ske. Uppsatsen baserades på en kvali- tativ ansats och använde sig av en explorativ studie med djupintervjuer där totalt fem personer från Region Halland samt två personer från ett IT-konsultbolag bidrog till uppsatsens resultat.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate emotions and collective identity in the handicraftmovement. Which are the collective identities of craft movement, and is it possible to speak ofan over all collective identity among the handicraft people? I will also examine the emotion workboth on individual and group level.Eight qualitative interviews were conducted to achieve the aim of this thesis. Research haspreviously drawn attention to handicraft from a gender and a historical perspective but neverfrom an emotional one. The theoretical framework derives from an emotion sociologicalperspective where Collins interaction rituals, emotional energy and Hochschild?s emotionmanagement is the main theses.

This paper investigates the usability of the intelligence test Wechsler Nonverbal Scale of Ability (WNV). Twenty four children in two different age-groups were tested with WNV, 10 children between ages 5 - 6, and 14 children between ages 9 - 10. The WNV turned out to be a useful test when some verbal communication was used in the test situation. This was especially apparent among the younger children, who needed extra verbal instructions and verbal support through the different subtests. The test also contained standardized verbal instructions for all ages.
