In Sweden it is of major concern to the society that every individual get the same possibilities to be able to complete and affect their education. Despite this some students with a foreign background have difficulties when it comes to homework?s. This is contrary to the goals that the government strives for, which is a more just society. The aim of this study is to analyze five elementary schoolteacher?s experiences and attitudes against the homework for students with two languages.

The aim of this study is to discuss the diagnosis ADHD as a meaning-making discourse that is something more than just a diagnosis with a set of symptoms. I aim to discuss that the diagnosis is productive and can be seen as a means to control and to comfort individuals. The research was based on a method consisting of an idea analysis and a discourse analysis. I am using both a discourse analysis and a critical ideology analysis as perspectives. These perspectives are also based on a general theory of late modernity.

What affect if an incident is reported?- an interview study with nursesABSTRACTEveryday in health care, there are incidents which can harm patients. However, reporting these incidents is not always a positive experience. The number of incident reports which are documented are a lot fewer than the number of incidents that actually occur. The purpose of the present study was to describe factors that affect nurses? decisions on whether to report an incident or not.

Problemet som uppmärksammas i undersökningen är att Försvarsmaktens doktriner ochplaneringsmetoder till stor del är utformade ur ett top down-perspektiv som inte i så storutsträckning beskriver oväntad och/eller oönskad påverkan av effekter bottom up. Syftet medundersökningen är därför att förklara på vilket sätt beslut/agerande av marin chef vid taktisktförband ibland kan få oväntade och/eller oönskade konsekvenser på den politisk-strategiska nivån.Utifrån detta är syftet också att dra slutsatser genom att diskutera möjliga implikationer för dagensmarina operationer och doktriner. Undersökningen genomförs som en fallstudie av de tvåhändelserna; överlämnandet av svenska jagare vid Torshavn 1940 och robotkryssaren USSVincennes nedskjutning av ett civilt passagerarplan 1988. I respektive fall beskrivs försthändelseförloppet därefter genomförs bl a en analys om vad i fallet som avviker från detförväntade/planerade och på vilket sätt och inom vilka tidsramar det sker effekter bottom up.Slutligen dras slutsatser på vilket sätt fallet kan ge implikationer på dagens marina operationer ochdoktriner. Några av de implikationer undersökningen pekar på är att chef för taktiskt förband bör hakunskap om säkerhetspolitik och om de övergripande politiska målsättningarna för att snabbt kunnafatta beslut i komplicerade frågor även vid utebliven kontakt med högre ledning.

The aim of this Master's thesis was to examine the political and cultural reasons for making music materials compulsory at Danish public libraries by the new library act of 2000. The aim was also to examine how the public libraries have responded to this reform. To answer these questions a literature study was conducted as well as interviews. The results of the literature study indicated that the main reason for making music materials compulsory is to increase the influence of the library users. The study of the debate concerning the new library act showed that a majority of the Danish political parties as well as the Danish library organizations had a positive attitude towards the new obligation.

This essay is a study that contributes to the larger research question ?Why do farms shut down?? The subject was chosen because it is a relevant problem that needs to be studied more. This study's boundary is to investigate the reasons for decisions leading to the farms at the Torstuna community, Fjärdhundra, changes in any activity scale or the outlook of the entire farm. When a decision is made, there are usually several reasons behind it and it is these reasons which this essay is aiming to study. The question "What are the reasons for the elderly to live on the farm even though the farm is not cultivated by them?" is also covered in the study.

Analysen visar att de båda läroplanerna ligger i linje med den internationella läroplansutvecklingen vad gäller sitt demokratiska medborgarskapsideal, men att Making the PYP happen: A curriculum framework for international primary education (2009) påvisar en mer konsekvent och aktiv tolkning av den demokratiska medborgaren. The aim of this thesis has been to discuss whether remainders of colonial influences exist within the UN's definition of torture or not. The discussion has been presented from a postcolonial point of view, in dialogue with contemporary power critical theorists. In order to raise awareness of a potential colonial influence, the following questions were intended to be answered:?                                        Are there any reasons, if so ? which ones, to regard the UN's definition of torture as a colonial project? And;?                                        To what extent is the term ?inhumane? limiting for the prohibition against torture from a postcolonial perspective?One of the most central arguments of the chosen theories is that the term ?inhumane? evokes prejudices that a racializing apparatus within the social norms of the UN automatically produces. These prejudices are, according to the theorists, influenced by images of people in non-western and non-secular (especially muslim) societies as more prone to exercise ?violence? and ?cruelty? towards their own citizens as well as towards the population of the world in general.

?Fan fiction writing?, or the writing of stories based upon a popular entertainment franchise, has become a topic of academic discussion. Fan fiction writers have waked the ire of movie producers, since they often write fiction that is in direct contradiction to the movie?s plot or spirit. While most academic studies on fan fiction have concentrated on his confrontational aspect of the writers? psyches, we have found that the writers actually have a much more nuanced approach to their work, and are not necessarily hostile towards the directors and producers.

The purpose of this study is to gain a better understanding about the police profession's impact on the singular individual, with a focus on roles, regions and emotions. The main question is to understand if and then so, how individuals outside of work will be affected of the profession and professional events. In order to answer this question I carried out six semi-structured in-depth interviews with police officers who worked at the main office in a police region in a midsize city in Sweden. To ensure reliability and allow readers to conduct their own assessments the quotations in this study are anonymous. The analysis of the collected material is based on selected parts of Goffman's theories about dramaturgical perspective as well as selected emotion theories.

Pet rabbits are increasing in popularity and the owners want the same treatment for them as they would want for a dog or a cat. However, the knowledge among clinical staff about these small animals is not always up to date. The aim of this paper is to highlight the needs of the pet rabbit and how these can be met regarding veterinary nursing. Pet rabbits are different from dogs and cats in several ways and their needs as patients differ as well. Rabbits are herbivorous prey animals. To avoid predators, they are very reluctant to show any sign of weakness for as long as they can.

En bättre värld genom faith? En studie om hur organisationen DIAN Interfidei arbetar för att skapa fredliga relationer i Indonesien [A better world through faith? A study about how the organization DIAN Interfidei works to pursue peaceful relations in Indonesia]. The aim of this study has been to analyze how an Indonesian NGO called DIAN Interfidei works with peacebuilding through faith in order to bring harmony between the various ethnic and religious groups of people that inhabits the nation. Through interviews and the study of Interfideis own source-material could their methods and problems be explored, and later on related to contemporary research in the field of conflict-resolution and peace-making. The conclusions that could be drawn from this study is that Interfidei primarily targets two specific groups (teachers of religion in schools and future religious leaders) in their programmes, because these groups in turn have the potential to affect several people in their own work.

Den ökande urbaniseringen innebär att samhället befinner sig i en konstant förändringsprocess. Staden och dess invånare är därigenom ständigt under utveckling. Effekten kan innebära omvandlingar i varierande skala men för en invånare kan det betyda stora omställningar i livssituationen. För många är boendet en viktig fråga och inverkningar på närmiljön kan ge starka reaktioner. En stadsomvandling i kvarteret kan upplevas både som traumatisk och nödvändig beroende på perspektiv. Exempel på en sådan situation är den nybyggnation som gjordes i Dalston, London. Nya bostadskomplex ledde till stora protester och resulterade i att planeringen började om, i ett omtalat projekt: Making space in Dalston.

The purpose with this essay is to study how students in elementary school are placed within the subject called ?svenska som andrasspråk?, or SVA. SVA is a subject specially designed to deal with the complications that students with a different native language encounter when trying to learn Swedish.  National school documents state that a student is to be offered SVA if he or she has a different native language than Swedish and if the headmaster decides it?s ?needed?. In this work I focus on the different factors which are involved in the headmasters decision whether a student should be in a SVA-class or a normal Swedish class.
