En av de viktigaste sakerna vi har i livet är vår hälsa och genom denna studie undersöktes sex kvinnors uppfattningar om begreppet hälsolitteracitet genom kvalitativa intervjuer. Syftet var att undersöka kvinnornas sätt att förvärva, förstå och använda sig av den hälsoinformation som cirkulerar i samhället. Resultat visar att respondenterna innehar en förhållandevis god hälsolitteracitet trots detta uppger respondenterna att de ibland har svårt att göra goda hälsoval. Det var inte svårt för respondenterna att förvärva information, då mycket fanns att tillgå via internet. För att kunna tolka och skapa förståelse kring hälsoinformation, tog de hjälp av bland annat personlig tränare.

This two years master?s thesis in Library and Information Science examines book reviews and articles aboutbooks and authorship in media directed to children between the ages of 8 and 14. The aim is to increase knowledgeof children?s reading choices and view of reading. This is motivated by the decrease in literacy and sparetime reading among Swedish children and adolescents.

Denna studie handlar om det vidgade textbegreppet, som innebär att tillägna sig och bearbeta texter inte alltid behöver betyda läsning utan kan ske även genom avlyssning, drama, rollspel, film, video och bildstudium. I studien undersöks i vilken utsträckning pedagogerna använder sig av ett vidgat textbegrepp i sin undervisning. Arbetet inleds med en teoretisk del där författarna kommer att avgränsa själva begreppet och förklara vad en vidgning av textbegreppet innebär. Mycket av den forskning som bedrivits pekar på att det vidgade textbegreppet ännu inte implementerats i undervisningen i den grad som är önskvärt. I samband med detta tas även andra viktiga uttryck upp som har en relation till det vidgade textbegreppet, såsom hypertext, multimedia och intermedialitet etc.

AbstractThe aim of this thesis is to investigate how the Swedish political parties have been discussing gender politics since 1970 to nowadays, in order to see which problems and solutions that have been suggested by the parties to increase the representation of women and the equality between the sexes. The theoretical framework is constructed by theories of women´s representation, gender politics and women?s interest.To describe how the discussions about gender politics have been between the different parties, the methodological foundation consists of an ideology critical textual analysis of the political programs from the Swedish parties.The analysis confirms that the discussions about gender politics and the political representation of women increase over time. The most important issue of equality is the lack of women´s rights and possibilities in the labor market as a consequence of women´s responsibility of home and childcare. The analysis also shows that parties which discuss women as a category and the underrepresentation of women also point out the importance to increase equality between men and women..

The aim of this Master thesis is to study how management, teachers and librarians at the university college Swedish school of sport and health sciences (GIH) view information literacy (IL) as a standard in higher education. I have used a sociocultural theoretical perspective, as the focus being on co-operation within the institutional context. The following questions are focused on: Of what importance are the control documents concerning IL as a standard in the educational program? How do the respondents view the value of, and the responsibility for, IL as a standard in the educational program? What are the conditions for co-operation at GIH to reach the standards of the higher education act? The methodology used is qualitative case study. Six qualitative interviews were carried out in order to describe the attitudes of the management, teachers and librarians related to this subject.

The foundation for this thesis lies in whether or not, and how, the body representation in printed commercials, specific products directed to the body (shampoo, body lotion etc.), has changed during the last fifty years. Four years have been chosen because of the changes in society that we believe might have had an impact. The commercials that have been picked out are the ones that best represent the general view of the body. We have found that the changes when it comes to body presentation has followed the social development to a certain degree, but it is difficult to say how much the society has had an affect on the body ideal in advertising. Representations of the male body is something that has escalated since the early 70?s, fifteen years earlier few commercials was made with male models, and the few there were, never showed more than the face.

This study investigates and evaluates a project called "Hisnande historier: från Bellman till Batman". "Hisnande historier" is composed to stimulate childrens literacy and it is directed towards pupils in the fourth class. The project is a co-operation between public librarians and compulsory school representatives in the municipality of Ystad. It contains visits by an author and exercises in reading and writing. We have been following the project during autumn 1998 at two schools in Ystad.

Purpose: To examine how a tour operator works to implement sustainability in the development of the business, as well as what significance it has to consumers in selecting a tour operator. Furthermore, the purpose is to provide recommendations on how tour operators should work to communicate their commitments.Methodology: The research strategy applied is a case study which follows an abductive approach. Qualitative and quantitative methods were applied to complement each other. A semi-structured interview with a tour operator and a consumer survey constitute the empirical foundation.Conclusion: The conclusion of the study is that consumers show a positive attitude towards CSR, but do not see it as a determinant when choosing a tour operator. Thus, CSR does not constitute a competitive advantage against competitors.

The purpose of this study is to examine whether there are any key factors for success to look for in launching a new business that affects the subsequent performance of the venture. Further on, the study will examine if there are any differences between believed and actual factors for success for an entrepreneur and the key factors for success given by existing theory. The purpose of looking in to the assumed gap between existing theory and entrepreneurs? believed and actual factors is to distinguish factors that make start-ups evolve. It is then important to investigate how they have worked with their business start-up and how they have worked with key factors for success in order to understand the impacts of their decisions.

We would like to gain a more in depth knowledge of whether the modern orientations both within corporate governance and control philosophy lay the foundation for enterprises? more sustainable success. These both modern orientations are increasingly focusing on the importance of enterprises? setting of goals and visions on the basis of stake holders? interests and the employees? more active engagement in and motivation for the goal achievement. Despite these common inherent characteristics, it is not evident from current scientific debate how such integration actually emerges in the control philosophies of the enterprises.

Syftet med studien är att få kunskap om hur och i vilka situationer handdockan används pedagogiskt för att fånga barnen in i sagans värld. Olika möjligheter och metoder på hur handdockan kan användas ska även påvisas. Det finns inte något bredare material vad gäller tidigare forskning om hur handdockan används genom sagan och arbetet har avgränsats till just det. Den teoretiska utgångspunkten är ur ett sociokulturellt perspektiv. Begrepp som mediering och literacy har använts för att analysera materialet.

The aim of this study was to investigate the emotions among the staff at the group housings when they observe the caretakers expressions of masturbation and how the staff handles these expressions in their daily and long-term work. The theoretical concepts that were used in this study are group housing as a public and private arena, occupational role, relation, humanistic effort, pedagogical effort, empowerment, care ethic and emotions. The concepts are related to each other and constitutes the foundation for the analysis of the empirical data used in this study. A qualitative study was carried out, in forms of half structured interviews with six informants, of which the majority was women. It came to light that the interviewees only had positive feelings for the caretaker?s expressions of masturbation.

Palliative care concerns care of those who are dying and when cure is no longer an option. The nurse´s job is then to support the patient and to give care of good qualitive so that the patient will experience optimal quality of life. The aim of this literature review was to describe how the nurse can prepare herself/himself for the meeting with both the patient and close ones also to describe a nurse´s need of support and education. Nine studies have been used as a foundation for this literature review. Four headlines have been crystallized out of the result, a) the view of death b) the impact of the meeting c) the importance of support d) the importance of preparation and education.

The aim of this thesis has been to study the development of Ordfront förlag from their foundation in 1969 until today, concerning their publishing profile and their size. Ordfront started out as a small publishing house and is today one of the few middle sized publishing houses in Sweden. Their books focus on questions concerning society, debate and politics. The question posed in this thesis was: What has influenced Ordfront förlag concerning size and publishing profile? In order to answer our question we have used a system analytic method, in which we examined some external and internal elements.

SammanfattningSyftet med detta examensarbete var att undersöka lärares materiella och strukturella resurser samt hur de använder sig av dessa i sin läs- och skrivundervisning i åk f-3. Denna studie bygger på intervjuer med sex lärare som arbetar i grundskolans tidigare år. Vi har studerat ämnet utifrån ett sociokulturellt perspektiv. Den teoretiska genomgången behandlar läs- och skrivlärande ur ett sociokulturellt perspektiv. Därefter presenteras en avgränsad del av forskning kring barns läs- och skrivlärande för tidigare år.Metoden i detta examensarbete utgörs av kvalitativa intervjuer med sex lärare i åk f-3. Samtliga deltagare har arbetat i skolans värld i många år.
