Penicillin G (benzylpenicillin) is the most commonly used antimicrobial substance used in equine medicine today. Two forms of penicillin G are available for equine use; one form is the poorly soluble penicillin G procaine and the other is the very soluble sodium salt. Although penicillin has a wide safety margin and is considered to possess a good tolerance, reactions due to side effects are sometimes encountered, which commonly is named ?penicillin-shock?. The etiology behind penicillin shock in horses is not completely understood, but the most common reason is believed to be procaine toxicity.

Denna uppsats är, precis som titeln anger, en analys av sambandet mellan motsägelser och ångest. De nutida vardagsuttrycken för begreppen utreds och granskas med hjälp av känslo- och rationalitetsfilosofiska teorier och distinktioner ifrån Arne Næss och Jean-Paul Sartre. Författaren föreslår en egen definition av ångest och jämför denna med andra filosofers och tankeskolors definitioner av begreppet. Författarens syn på ångest skiljer sig från Sartres, då han menar att ångest kan lösas upp och att den ofta är väldigt specifik och konkret till sin karaktär, medan Sartre menar att ångesten är omöjlig att lösgöra sig ifrån och att den är av ett mycket mer generellt slag. Detta konkreta och specifika element i den ångestdefinition, som författaren vill lägga fram, består i att ångesten uppstår i vissa valsituationer där valalternativen, i någon form, är sinsemellan motsägande och där ett val är tvunget att göras..

Syftet med studien var att öka kunskapen kring hur företag genom annonsens uppbyggnad kan påverka sin image. En kvalitativ studie har genomförts genom insamling av primärdata. Annonser från tre företag valdes ut, varpå semistrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med såväl företrädare för företagen som sexton respondenter. Studien visar att konsumenters tidigare kunskap och erfarenheter påverkar deras utvärdering av annonser. Annonser som uppfattas som mainstream kan både vara något positivt och negativt.

The purpose of this study has been to get a deeper insight into how students reason about the textbook and teaching that goes beyond its content. This in order for the teacher to be able to consider and respond to these important attitudes already at the planning stages of such teaching situations. This approach will aid to help students overcome the distrust of things that are not in the textbook.The study shows that students have an attitude of overconfidence to the textbook's reliability. It is considered to be controlled in its content as well as being a reference on the extent of the knowledge content.The general approach to teaching that deviates from textbook structure is that it is welcomed as an interesting feature. However, a questioning attitude soon appears about whether the element will be included in any requirements for knowledge or tests.The following important conclusions can be drawn after this study was carried out:Very clearly communicate the purpose of all education that deviate from the textbook.Inform students about the textbook's deficiencies and the need for supplementing.Accept and respond to students' focus in that grades are the main driving force for the acquisition of knowledge in high school..

In order to rescue a distressed submarine crew, the Swedish Navy is able to use a deep submergence rescue vehicle, DSRV. This mini submarine ascends, docks to the downed submarine and picks up the whole crew. The submarine rescue ship HMS Belos has a special crane located in the aft of the ship to lift the surfaced DSRV aboard, which then docks on to the on board pressure chambers located below deck. During inspections the aforementioned crane has shown to have problems with cracks in the structure, most of them located in the bolted joint between the top part of the crane and the two leg parts. A simulation of the forces acting on the structure in heavy sea condition was conducted; these values were then used as input values in a Finite Element Method, FEM, analysis of the joint.

Hammarby Sjöstad is a new district in Stockholm with high environmental standard. Stockholm Water Company evaluates a local wastewater treatment plant with cutting edge technology. The first step is an experimental treatment plant (Sjöstadsverket) with four parallel lines of treatment, each with a capacity to treat wastewater from 150 persons. Within the membrane technology subproject the possibility of using reverse osmosis (usually called RO) to regain nutrients is examined.Reverse osmosis separates the incoming water in a clean permeate and a concentrate that, as the name indicates, is a more concentrated version of the incoming water. Using this method in wastewater treatment, a solution high in nutrients can be obtained without the use of chemical precipitation agent and with no production of sludge.

Regelverket för offentlig upphandling håller för närvarande på att förändras. Det är direktiven 2004/18/EG (klassiska direktivet) och 2004/17/EG (försörjningsdirektivet), som har omarbetats. Andledningen till en regelförändring är att omvärlden har förändrats, vilket innebär att tekniken har utvecklats och behoven för nya rutiner inom offentlig upphandling är nödvändiga. Bland de nyheter som återfinns i direktiven återfinns ett nytt upphandlingsförfarande, den så kallade konkurrenspräglade dialogen. Förfarandet är avsett att tillämpas vid situationer då det inte är möjligt att i de tekniska specifikationerna ange vad som krävs för att tillgodose den upphandlande myndighetens behov.

Stormwater run-off from surfaces such as roads or rooftops is often polluted with heavy metals and nutrients. Many of these substances can cause great damage in biota if they end up in the recipient. In Sweden constructed wetlands and ponds for treatment of stormwater are frequently used, since research has shown that these treatment ponds are reducing stormwater pollution considerably to a low cost. The knowledge of these pollutant removal mechanisms and how follow-up and assessment of the ponds should be performed is still limited.To determine the pollutant removal efficiency of the stormwater ponds it is recommended that flow-weighted water samples are collected from both the inflow and the outflow of the pond. This method demands considerable resources of time and money for installations and analysis.

I detta arbete kommer ett antal speciellt utformade ingjutningsplåtar som används vid anslutning mellan plattbärlag i Abetongs prefabricerade element att analyseras och beräknas vid normal och tvärkraft utifrån gällande normer i Eurokoden. Från och med den första januari 2011 ersätts Boverkets Konstruktionsregler av Eurokoderna vilket innebär att man i dagsläget saknar värden på dessa ingjutningsplåtar hos Abetong. Så för att kunna använda dessa plåtar i sin tillverkning krävs det att de beräknas efter den nya standarden.Genom att beskriva plåtarna utifrån en interaktionsformel för samtidig normal och tvärkraft kan interaktionsdiagram ritas ut för att sedan snabbt kunna avläsas av konstruktör som då får ut ett värde på maximal tvärkraft utifrån antagen normalkraft eller vice versa. Som hjälpmedel för att genomföra detta kommer ett Excel-program skrivas som kan rita ut graferna för varje ingjutningsplåt.Arbetet har avgränsats till att endast titta på stålets egenskaper vilket innebär att eventuella begränsningar hos betongen eller hos kraftöverföringen mellan betongen och armeringen ej kommer att analyseras..

Since Sweden became a member of the European Union (EU) several constitutional reforms has been taking place. During this time, Sweden has also changed its view on democracy,from a collective to an individual perspective of democracy in the politics. A reasonable hypothesis and the purpose of this essay is to investigate if the Swedish government has beendeveloped towards an Europeanization.The Swedish state audit changed in a pioneering way after the EU- entry, with the formation of Riksrevisionen. Another constitutional change is that the Swedish EU- membership is being instituted in the Swedish constitution. The role of Swedish courts has also changed since the EU- entry.

Teckenspråket är ett visuellt språk, med möjligheter att uttrycka mycket information simultant. Faktorer som har en avgörande betydelse för språket är handens form, placering och rörelse, i kombination med ögon- och munrörelser. Utvecklingen av videosamtal via 3G har inneburit att döva kan konversera mobilt på sitt modersmål. Tidigare har de i många situationer varit hänvisade till sitt andraspråk, svenska. Denna uppsats undersöker hur döva upplever kvaliteten på kommunikation via videosamtal, samt huruvida de för teckenspråket viktiga faktorerna får tillräckligt med utrymme i dagens 3G-telefoner.

Swedish students' knowledge of both mathematics and reading comprehension has deteriorated in recent years. Scientists are discussing whether there is a connection between these areas and that the pupils deteriorating math skills may have something to do with their increasingly lower results in terms of reading comprehension. To investigate this possible connection, I conducted a survey among students in ninth grade and have come to the conclusion that the scientists are right: this connection absolutely exist. Students who received a high score on tasks designed to test students' mathematical problem-solving skills, also received high results on the reading comprehension test. And students who received a poor performance on the problem-solving tasks, were also low performers in the reading comprehension test.

The main purpose of this thesis is to analyse the possibilities and problems facing a privatised work injury insurance. This discussion includes the element of premium differentiation. Todays´ Swedish social insurance system is ineffectively formed. The costs have dramatically increased during the 1990´s. The Swedish government is now looking for ways to improve the efficiency of the system.

Revit Structure är ett nytt 3D-modellerings program i Autodesks serie med ritprogram, speciellt utvecklad för byggnadsinformationsmodellering (BIM). Revit bygger på att användaren själv laddar in och placerar ut standardprofiler som till exempel pelare, balkar och väggar. När standardprofilerna är placerade i 3D-modellen kan de enkelt redigeras och förändras för att uppfylla de specifika kraven för just det byggnadsprojektet.     Den här rapporten är särskilt framtagen för att underlätta en övergång mellan programmen AutoCad och Revit Structure. Med rapporten följer en handbok som ska fungera som en introduktionskurs av programmet för studenter och konstruktörer. Handboken börjar med att gå igenom programmets upplägg och layout.  Där efter följer handboken ett byggnadsprojekt från start till mål. Varefter successivt byggnaden växer fram får användaren kunskaper om de vanliga verktygen då fler element tillförs och sammanfogas.

Based on laboratory studies with lysimeters, the concentrations of dissolved reactive phosphorus(DRP) and particulate phosphorus, which is the main part of other P (OVRP), has been studied inpercolating water. The experiment was conducted through irrigation of small soil columnscontaining clay topsoil from an experimental field in Västergötland. Three rain simulations wereconsecutively performed. DRP concentrations in the percolating water ranged between 0.2 - 0.3mg·Lclearly related to the phosphorus concentration in the soil, measured in a soil extract ofammonium lactate (P-AL). Concentrations of OVRP were relatively low and ranged between0.12 and 0.16 mg·Lwas not proven and the experiment may reflect how a relatively slow percolation of water mayrelease DRP.
