The information market is constantly changing. With new and improved information technology more people get access to more information faster. However, the number of people educated to handle information also increases. Business intelligence has for a long time been a well-known tool for companies to be competitive. Because of the increased access to information the competition between companies has intensified and more people have become aware of the advantages of business intelligence and how it can help them compete.

Årligen drunknar i Sverige ett trettiotal människor genom fritidsbåtolyckor. I snitt är 80% av drunkningsoffren män mellan 50 och 90 år, och hela 90 % saknar flytväst när de hittas. Syftet med studien var att undersöka varför män i denna åldersgrupp så ofta väljer att inte bära flytväst när de åker ut på sjön, och vad som eventuellt skulle kunna få dem att börja bära en. Två metoder användes: djupintervjuer med manliga besökare på båtmässorna i Göteborg och Stockholm, samt en elektronisk enkät som besvarades av män som är medlemmar i en webbpanel. Resultatet visar att de män som deltog i studien i hög grad känner sig erfarna och säkra på sjön och därmed inte anser att de behöver flytväst, men även faktorer såsom gammal vana och självsäkerhet gällande sin egen förmåga att klara sig om de skulle hamna i vattnet spelar in för deras (mot)vilja att använda flytväst.

Syfte & Forskningsfråga:Syftet med denna studie är att förstå hur regionala flygbolag arbetar med elektronisk word-of-mouth (eWOM) genom att undersöka och analysera på vilket sätt företag kan arbeta med eWOM, vilken betydelse eWOM har för tjänster inom turismsektorns privata marknad samt vilket inflytande konsumenter har genom eWOM. Med syftet i baktanke formulerades forskningsfrågan: Vilken betydelse har eWOM för företag inom turismsektorn och hur kan de använda eWOM i sin marknadsföring? Metod:I denna studie har vi använt oss utav en kvalitativ metod för att ha möjlighet att få en djupare förståelse för det valda forskningsämnet. Redan från början av studien har vi haft ett växelspel mellan teori och empiri, varför det abduktiva synsättet har använts. Vidare har empiriska data samlats in genom sex stycken semi-strukturerade intervjuer tillsammans med användandet av en intervjuguide för att till viss del kunna styra samtalet men samtidigt få mer flexibilitet där respondenterna haft möjlighet att svara fritt.

The purpose of this study is to investigate information seeking habits among young persons with mild mental disability. We wanted to know how they seek information in everyday life, barriers they experience when seeking information and also if they consider the library to be a source of information.The theoretical background of this study is based on the works of T. D. Wilson and Michael Buckland. Wilson?s model of information seeking behavior and seeking information was used as a tool analyzing the results from the interviews.

The aim of this master?s thesis is to examine the information needs in the character subjects of the students at a vocationally oriented program in the Swedish upper secondary school. I also examine from which sources the students get the information. I want to create a wider understanding of information seeking processes at a vocationally oriented programme. The main focus is the students? own thoughts and opinions about their information needs and information seeking processes.

The purpose of this Bachelor?s thesis is to examine university librarians? perceptions of information literacy, of students? information literacy and of education in information literacy. The focus is on how they perceive the students? information literacy development during their university studies. Also of interest in this study is how librarians think that their teaching in information literacy should be included in the students? other courses. Three librarians at a Swedish university library were interviewed using qualitative interviews.

Some word processing programs save information that not all users of the program are aware of. This information consists of a number of things. Example of that is who the writer of the document is, the time it took to write it and where on the computer the document is saved. Text that has been changed or removedcan also be saved. This information is not shown in the program and the user will therefore not be aware of its existence.

This thesis examines the ideological implications of an emerging shift in human rights-issues regarding information. As Intellectual Property becomes increasingly important to the economy of developed nations previously commonly owned or unprotected information runs a real risk of becoming privatized. The World Trade Organization and its binding agreements GATS and TRIPS are subjected to a critical ideology-analysis, with special efforts to elucidate possible effects on the public service realm and its commitment as provider of free information as a human right. The result suggests that not only does a threat to information as such a right exist, but that its ideological basis however seemingly rooted in a liberal/neoliberal context actually in its express views on information deviates from liberal/neoliberal theory in many ways, and that there are theoretical inconsistencies in that same ideology..

Användningen och betydelsen av intranät, det vill säga en slags organisationsinterna webbplatser, ökar i många organisationer i takt med en ökad IT-användning när allt mer kommunikation sker via elektroniska kanaler. Fungerande intern kommunikation, inte minst ledningskommunikation, är samtidigt en förutsättning för organisering, ledning och styrning. Ju otydligare organisationens mål är ju större betydelse får en fungerande intern ledningskommunikation för att omsätta t.ex. visioner i konkreta åtgärder. Detta framstår som särskilt angeläget i offentlig förvaltning där politiska visioner, mål och prioriteringar ofta kan vara vaga eller motsägelsefulla.

The purpose of this Master thesis is to examine and describe dog breeders? information activities. Questions posed in this study are:? What are the information needs of dog breeders?? How does the dog breeder seek and use information?? How can the relationship between serious leisure and information activities be described?The theoretical framework consists of the sociologist Robert A Stebbins? theory about serious leisure. The study is based on a qualitative methodology.

Intranets has been marketing as the tool for solving the organisations information problems. My interest is to see how an intranet works in an organisation. This study was an investigation about the use of EkaForum, the intranet of Eka Chemicals, at the Rollsbo division. The study aimed to evaluate how EkaForum is being used, firstly as a transmitter of information and secondly as a communication tool for the organisation. The study was constructed as a quantity survey based on a questionnaire with 24 questions and was sent out to the staff of Rollsbo division.

During the last decades the evolution of information technology and the increasing ability to access information have been discussed in many ways. In the beginning the focus was on the technology but now the discussion is more and more about the use of information and how to develop knowledge out of it. There is an ongoing discussion about the difference between knowledge and information. The subject of this Master s thesis is to find out if and how the Swedish elementary school has written into its mission statements to help the pupils to become information literate. For this purpose I have examined literature about information literacy and pedagogic as well as legislation and other documents that control how the Swedish elementary schools work.

The aim of this study is to examine present forms of interaction between Child Welfare Clinics (Barnavårdscentraler, BVC), and libraries. The study departs from the user?s perspective, i.e. how the parents evaluate the information they are given about the library and its resources to provide information they want in their present and new situation. In two local communities the survey looks into how parents of babies are informed about the library in meetings arranged as part of the information and support program provided by BVC.

Detta examensarbete har utförts under våren 2013 på Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan i Stockholm. Arbetet syftar till att skapa en produkt som underlättar hanteringen av information för sjuksköterskorna på barnintensivvårdsavdelningen (BIVA) på Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset i Solna. På en barnintensivvårdsavdelning vårdas barn med mycket allvarligt tillstånd som kräver övervakning dygnet runt. Arbetsmiljön är stressig och ombytlig och kräver hantering av ett omfattande informationsflöde. De metoder och hjälpmedel som redan används inom vården är inte tillräckliga för att undvika att misstag sker på grund av fel och brister i informationshanteringen.Arbetet är uppdelat i två delar; en research-del och en produktutvecklingsdel.

The aim of this study was to examine if an organisation that strives for democracy and participation, also possess an open information culture. This study deals with the information culture in a social movement organisation, Attac Gothenburg. To achieve the aim, following questions were asked: What is the organisation culture like, is it open or closed? What is the information culture like, is it open or closed? What is the information culture like, in relation to the identity of the organisation? The focus has been put on earlier research in social movements, organisation and information culture. In this qualitative study I have collected material mainly from interviews.
