The purpose of this thesis has been to develop a tool for modelling and simulating the nuclear plant Ringhals 3. The model should be used to improve the knowledge on the dynamics of the plant. Ringhals 3 is being upgraded to produce more power and a tool for analyzing the new operating conditions is needed.The work in this thesis has consisted of improving and developing an existing model of Ringhals 3 made with the modelling tool Dymola. The model has been validated by comparing the results of a simulated house load transient with data from the actual plant. Validation shows good agreement with data from the real plant.

Uppdragsgivare för detta examensarbete är Skanska Sverige AB Region Stora Projekt, som arbetar med stora bro- och anläggningsprojekt. Störst behov ligger i att få ökad kunskap om de Allmännai projekten. Arbetet med anbudskalkyler innebär att förutse projektkostnader och kostnaderna Allmänna kostnader utgör en betydande del av projektets totalkostnad och är svårkalkylerade. Generellt uttryckt utgör denna post de byggkostnader som används gemensamt i projektet. Nyckeltal komprimerar information i syfte att göra den mer lättillgänglig för användaren.Syftet med denna rapport är att få fram nyckeltal tänkta att i första hand användas till att kvalitetssäkra kommande anbudsarbeten.Det material och data som rapporten baseras på är intern information om referensprojekten och slutrapporter.För två av resurserna kan nyckeltal presenteras, samma gäller för en tredje baserat på att referensprojekten har liknande utförande.

In this report focus is put on the combustion process at a cement plant. Combustion is the heart of the cement making process and absolutely crucial to have under full control and well optimized. The fuel is put into the process through a burner pipe and this burner pipe is modified to reach a more efficient combustion. The primary target is to enable burning of heterogeneous alternative fuels and increase the production level. Other positive effects from this type of optimization is lowered specific fuel consumption and lowered CO2 emissions. A redundant burner is chosen for the project and overall the project steps are the following: 1. Installing a Jet air nozzle ring in a way so it can move both axially and radially due to temperature changes. 2.

The goal of this paper is to examine whether the introduction of a qualifying day in the use of sick insurance in the Swedish welfare system resulted in an increase in the use of parental benefits as substitute to avoid the qualifying day. We believe that this could be the case because of the higher gain from the welfare system. We use OLS to perform a linear regression from a data set from the data base LINDA during 1991-1996. The results in this paper are that there is a significant increase in the parental benefit after the reform although there is a negative trend for parental benefit during the examined period..

Syftet med uppsatsen är att diskutera det så kallade equity premium puzzle. Jaganalyserar teoretiskt den intertemporala konsumtionsbaserade CAPM (C-CAPM),sammanställer en del av litteraturdiskussionen som finns på området samt empiriskttestar C-CAPM på svensk data. Fenomenet equity premium puzzle innebär attöveravkastningen på aktier är så stor att det inte stämmer med den ekonomiska teorin.Enligt teorin beror C-CAPMs riskpremie på kovariansen mellan konsumtionen ochaktieavkastningen. Litteraturen visar att forskare inte har lyckats förklara equitypremium puzzle genom att ändra antagandena i grundmodellen. Den empiriskaundersökningen visar att equity premium puzzle även uppkommer på svensk data..

Årsredovisningen är ett instrument som underlättar anskaffningen av den information som behövs för att fatta ett lyckat investeringsbeslut. Vår studie syftar till att undersöka investerares syn på årsredovisningen som beslutsunderlag samt vad de anser om dess informationsinnehåll och användbarhet. Syftet med arbetet är att genom en elektronisk enkätundersökning besvara frågor som rör årsredovisningens relevans och innehåll samt hur analytiker och förvaltare tillgodogör sig denna information. Undersökningen är begränsad till att omfatta endast svenska finansanalytikers och fondförvaltares uppfattning om årsredovisningen. Adressen till den elektroniska enkätundersökningen skickades ut via e-post till 126 aktiva analytiker och förvaltare vilket utgjorde den kvantitativa basen i studien.

Research is a time-consuming endeavor which requires appropriate tools to manage often vast amounts of information. Militarization 2.0 is a research project aiming to explore Militarization in social media. The aim of this project is to design a user interface for supporting researchers in projects involving large amounts of data in qualitative studies. The project will follow the design process of the first version of the Militarization 2.0 research database interface. The design process involves user studies, interviews and design and testing of paper and digital prototypes.

I Sverige är ca två tredjedelar av alla vuxna måttligt fysiskt aktiva en halvtimme per dag.Trots ökade motionsvanor lever vi idag ett allt mer stillasittande liv som bland annat bidragittill försämrad folkhälsa. Eftersom studier visat att fysisk aktivitet påverkar den psykiskahälsan positivt, och reducerar stress, har vi valt att undersöka hur människors inställning och motivation till fysisk aktivitet påverkar detta samband. Syftet är att undersöka hur inställningoch motivation till fysisk aktivitet är relaterat till upplevd stressnivå hos administrativ personal. Undersökningen är gjord med kvantitativ metod där 177 anställda i tre skånskakommuner svarat på en elektronisk enkät, med en svarsfrekvens på ca 54 procent. Avresultatet framkom att 61 procent av deltagarna tränade minst några gånger i veckan, ochatt 11 procent aldrig tränade.

The main objective of this study is to divide a number of colorectal cancer cases into subgroups based on their molecular features using cluster analysis. The data used is supplied by a research group at Pathology, the Department of Medical Biosciences, Umeå University, and consists, after some preparation, of 455 observations which is a larger data set than many similar studies. The molecular variables that the clustering is based on are CIMP (CpG Island Methylator Phenotype), MSI (Micro Satellite Instability), BRAF- and KRAS-mutations. These are categorical variables and consequently the clustering method used is PAM (Partitioning Around Medoids) which is particularly useful with data on diverse variable level. The final analysis results in four subgroups that are represented by different combinations of attributes on the aforementioned variables.

Biomassa är en växande energikälla i samhället. Biomassa så som sågspån behöver ofta torkas och pelleteras innan det kan användas som energikälla vid förbränning. Sågspån torkas innan pelleteringen för att kunna ge ett bra värmevärde och för att kunna förbrännas utan ökade halter av utsläpp. I takt med ökad användning av detta bränsle finns det en ökad efterfrågan på energieffektiva torkningsmetoder. På Karlstad Universitet har det därför byggts en pilotanläggning av en pneumatisk tork med syfte att fungera som ett steg i en energieffektiv torkningsmetod kallad ?Two Step Drying Technique? eller TSDT.Det här arbetet har handlat om att utvärdera effektivitetsmått och driftinformation för torken på Karlstads Universitet.
