A Swedish electronics company wants to make the cooling of one of their electronic components more efficient. They propose that a retrofit liquid cooler is the way to achieve this goal. The current air cooling has high energy cost due to the high amount of power needed to power fans and heat exchangers. Using high volumes of air for cooling also leads to noise pollution. The conversion from air to liquid cooling would possibly make the operation of the electronics more cost efficient and less noisy.The purpose of this project is to theoretically evaluate different concepts of drawing the heat generated by the electronic component in to a fluid, using numerical calculations in Matlab and FEM simulations in ANSYS.

Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är att illustrera vilka faktorer som påverkar kundrelationer och hur ett företag bör gå tillväga för att förbättra dessa samt för att bevara sina kunder. Vi vill ge en illustration på hur en välorganiserad kundrelation kan framkallas. Uppsatsen är även en undersökning som kommer att framhäva Länsförsäkringarnas varianter av strategier och metoder inom kundrelation, detta kommer även att baseras ur kundens perspektiv. Det vitalaste kommer att handla om hur Länsförsäkringarna kan förbättra och utveckla detta. Metod: Vi valde att använda oss av primärdata för att öka trovärdigheten genom enkätundersökning och intervjuer, våra sekundärdata användes för att ge stöd till den primäradatan med författares och forskares teorier. Sedan jämförde vi resultatet från intervjuerna och enkätundersökningen med vad teoretikerna anser för att se om det överensstämmer med resultatet. Resultat & slutsats: Vi tycker att det har varit ett intresseväckande arbete att följa Länsförsäkringarnas tillvägagånssätt om hur de bemöter kunderna och relationen till dem.

Background Adolescents and adults suffering from needle phobia have an unreasonable fear of needles that leads to negative experiences if they do not get the support they need. Negative experiences lead to patients avoiding health care, or these experiences affect important aspects of life. The suffering that a patient experiences may be obvious to some, but others hide it, and then it will be more difficult to detect. The nurse's role is to recognize the suffering and its different reactions in order to alleviate and prevent unnecessary suffering of the patient. AimThe purpose of this study was to describe about young people's and adults' experiences of having needle phobias.

For my master thesis in Archival Science, I have arranged and catalogued the archives of the Uppsala InternationalShort Film Festival. The materials consisted of approximately 160 binders and filing boxes and some banners.Additionally, there was a large amount of photos from screened films. Some of the material was in good order whilesome was not. The archive was catalogued in Visual Arkiv. After cataloguing the material, approximately 30 binderswith routine records such as reciepts, tax forms et cetera were removed and destroyed.

This study has been carried out as a part of the EC funded project, SMARTDOC IST-2000-28137, with the objective of developing application components that provide highly interactive visualization and collaboration functionalities. The low-level components from the graphics library AVS OpenViz 2.0 are used as the development basis. The application components can be inserted into electronic documents that allow embedded controls such as web documents or Microsoft Word or PowerPoint documents. Instead of displaying results as static images, a SMARTDOC component provides the ability to visualize data and interact with it inside the document. Although the principal goal of the SMARTDOC project is to create components in a number of different application domains this study concentrates on developing a medical imaging application component in collaboration with the project partners AETmed and professor Alan Jackson at the University of Manchester.

Syftet med uppsatsen var att undersöka hur bemötandet och tillgängligheten i den fysiska miljön på caféer upplevs av rullstolsburna cafébesökare och caféägare i Örebro 2006, samt undersöka vad respektive grupp vet om handlingsplanen "från patient till medborgare".Datainsamlingen gjordes genom intervjuer med tre rullstolsburna cafébesökare samt sex caféägare som delades upp i två grupper, grupp 1 med fysiska hinder vid entrén och grupp 2 utan hinder vid entrén.Resultatet av studien visade att de rullstolsburna cafébesökarna tyckte oftast att cafémiljön ger ett gott bemötande men att utbudet av fysiskt tillgängliga caféer var dåligt. Samtliga caféägare upplevde att de gav ett gott bemötande men upplevelsen av den fysiska tillgängligheten varierade. Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva patientens upplevelse av besöket på akutmottagningen samt vilka faktorer som påverkade upplevelsen. Syftet var även att beskriva vilka faktorer som möjliggör och hindrar sjuksköterskan att arbeta utifrån ett omvårdnadsperspektiv. Studien genomfördes som en systematisk litteraturstudie där 10 artiklar granskades och låg till grund för resultatet vilket visade att patientens upplevelse och faktorer som påverkade upplevelsen av besöket på akutmottagningen var sjuksköterskans omvårdnad, väntetider, akutmottagningens miljö samt vårdpersonalens information och kommunikation. För att sjuksköterskan skulle ha möjlighet att arbeta utifrån ett omvårdnadsperspektiv krävdes vissa kunskaper hos sjuksköterskan, bland annat att ha bred kunskap inte bara i omvårdnad utan även inom medicinska sjukdomar, för att bättre förstå patientens situation. Att vara emotionellt involverad, känna ansvar, ta egna initiativ, vara öppen och lyhörd, genuint intresserad och involverad av patienten och göra det där "lilla extra" gjorde att sjuksköterskan kunde arbeta utifrån ett omvårdnadsperspektiv.

Vårt sätt att kommunicera med varandra är i hög grad situationsberoende. Ett tillfälle när samtalets form kan ha stor betydelse är i kontakten mellan läkare och patient och då speciellt när läkaren behöver förmedla tråkiga nyheter till patienten. I denna studie undersöktes faktorer som påverkar hur läkaren upplever sin förmåga att genomföra samtal med ?bad news? för patienten. Nio läkare på två sjukhus i Mellansverige intervjuades.

Den ökade övervikten i samhället leder till att allt fler insjuknar i hjärtsjukdomar. Vi vill att allmänsjuksköterskor ska få ökad kunskap inom detta område, för att hjälpa patienter i ett tidigt skede till livsstilsförändringar. Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur sjuksköterskor kan arbeta preventivt med överviktiga, hjärtsjuka patienter. Som metod används analys och tolkning av tio vetenskapliga artiklar, som granskats enligt Polit m fl (2001). The purpose of this scientific essay is to evaluate if a continuous glucose monitoring system is something that can benefit Swedish animal health care. The study investigates if it is medically possible to use continuous glucose monitoring systems on dogs with an apparatus attached to their bodies. Furthermore, I try to establish whether this is possible in practice and how it could be done. The keywords used were diabetes mellitus, insulin, continuous glucose monitoring, blood glucose monitoring, dog, pet owner and animal nursing care. Furthermore, I wanted to find out if this system could be an alternative to currently established methods to measure the patient?s blood glucose level.

Background:Chronic heart failure (CHF) is a complex clinical condition. The higher survival rate after heart attack and other heart diseases, plus aging population, has led to more CHF patients. Symptoms can have negative impact on exercise capacity, ability to perform activities of daily living and quality of life. Heart failure clinics have been established to help better quality of life. Helping to stabilize and maintain patients´ health can reduce the need of hospital admission.

This report is the result of a master thesis at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Division of Industrial and Economical Development, at Linköping University of Technology. The project was carried out on behalf of Fanerami AB, Mjölby and includes 20 weeks of full time schedule work.Cabinets with vertical mounted roller shutters all share the same problem, namely weight balancing. A roller shutter has an equilibrium area where the sum of the different forces acting on the shutter equals zero. As the shutter leaves that area it will pick up speed as it falls towards the bottom. When the shutter hits the bottom of the cabinet there is a potential risk of getting fingers caught and in this project a solution to prevent this from happening was to be presented.In this project, three concepts have been generated with the following different purposes:?In concept 1 the risk of getting any fingers caught when the shutter closes was to be eliminated in an efficient and inexpensive way.?In concept 2 the roller shutter had to be balanced at all time providing the possibility to keep the cabinet open in any position.?The last and most challenging task was to create a remote controlled TV cabinet.

En stor mängd information måste utbytas med patienten under enradiografisk undersökning för att sörja för god omvårdnad och utvecklandet av en mellanmänskligrelation i det korta mötet. Röntgensjuksköterskan måste balansera sitt mål att skapa en röntgenbildav god diagnostisk kvalité med god patientkommunikation och omvårdnad för att göra patientendelaktig i sin undersökning. The focus of this thesis is primarily in electronic construction and describes the design process for a microcontroller circuit board from concept development to prototyping. The client develops test fixtures for automated testing of products within the electronics industry and needs a new controller circuit for the test fixtures that can handle controls and basic testing. An investigation into the needs of such a system is conducted and a prototype printed circuit board assembly is manufactured.The prototype is developed with focus on protection against electrostatic discharges and overvoltage. Among the functions that are included are voltage measurements, communication interfaces and control of input and output currents. Firmware for the prototype is developed and configured to communicate with a PC through USB interface for control and collecting of measurements..

Introduction: Reversal of a temporary loop-ileostomy is the final step after a long treatment for rectalcancer, an event that the patient has been looking forward to for a long time. Studies have shown that patients often have a significant impact on the bowel function after reversal of the stoma.Aim: To describe how the patient experienced the first time at home after reversal of a temporary loop-ileostomy due to rectalcancer. Method: Qualitative semi-structured interviews, with 15-20 patients who have undergone reversal of a temporary loop-ileostomy due to rectal cancer, will be conducted. The interviewes will be analysed using qualitative content analysis according to Graneheim & Lundman (2004). The patients will be recruited from the colorectal unit at Sahlgrenska University hospital/Östra and from the surgical unit at Kungälvs hospital.
