Utvärdering av en ny typ av lagerinbyggnad för traktionsmotorer
The thesis evaluates a new kind of bearing arrangement in a traction motor that ABB hasdeveloped. Since the arrangement is designed in a new and innovative way it needs to beevaluated to see if it is safe to use. In today?s traction motors, bearings with a big internalclearance (C4-clearance) are used. The basic idea of the new arrangement is to reduce the fitsbetween the bearing and shaft/house.
Undersökning av informationstavlor : ur ett kognitivt perspektiv
I detta examensarbete undersöks hur informationstavlor vid Volvo PV AB, motor, Östra fabriken, Skövde påverkar montörerna som arbetar där i deras arbete. Uppdraget som undersökaren fick av Volvo var att undersöka vilken betydelse de informationstavlor som sitter vid varje modul/arbetsstation spelar i det dagliga arbetet. De här informationstavlorna visar hur många motorer som ska produceras per vecka. Metoden som användes i undersökningen var en kvalitativ intervjubaserad undersökning, med 24 deltagande montörer.Resultatet visar att den information som fås via tavlorna är av stor vikt och behövs i någon form. Det finns dock vissa betydande brister som påverkar montörerna negativt på olika sätt.
Investeringsalternativ för gårdsbaserad bioanläggning vid SLU
A Biogas plant in SLU?s (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences) management sustains to behave in con-nection with the new animal stables at Lövsta. There will primarily manure from stables that rot to biogas. The biogas plant will also have the capacity that rot others substrates that can arise in the farm operation. The aim with the biogas plant is to produce non fossil electrical and gas heat for own customs, to reduce smell impact from stables and to make possible different types of research investments within the area.This study has implemented multiple cases study of different investment scenarios.
Mätning av Emissioner från en Diesel Motor under Transient Driftförhållande
Transient driftförhållande blir allt mer intressant för forskare och tillverkare och de största svårigheterna är att minska emissionerna utan att påverka bränsleförbrukningen eller motorns respons vid gaspådrag negativt. Huvudmålet med det här examensarbetet var utvärdera olika metoder för att mäta NOx och antal partiklar med hög tidsupplösning för att möjliggöra studier av emissioner under transient driftförhållande.I arbetet har en Horiba MEXA 120NOx NOx-sensor studerats med avseende på linearitet, mätsäkerhet och responstid. Försök för att öka noggrannheten har också gjorts genom att kompensera för varierande skalfaktor för utsignalen och för responstiden.Ett spädsytem har arbetats fram för att ge hög tidsupplösning och god repeterbarhet. I detta ingick en Rotating Disc spädare och en två-stegs Dekati spädare. Spädsystemet var kopplat till en TSI Ultrafine Condensation Particle Counter 3025 A (CPC) och var nödvändigt för att hålla koncentrationen inom det mätbara området.
Energianalys av luftbehandling
Elanvändningen till ventilation har ökat med 40 % sedan 1990 i Sverige. Ventilationen är en miljöbov enligt undersökningar som visar att elanvändningen till ventilationssystemens fläktar kan reduceras. Minskning av elförbrukningen kan t.ex. uppnås genom utbyte av fläktmotor till en EC-motor eller till en fläkt med bakåtböjda skovlar och direktdrift. Effektivieringsåtgärder kan ge en lägre elförbrukning på upptill 50 % i vissa applikationer.Ventilationsfläktarna i Sverige förbrukar 12,3 TWh per år.

This report will outline a proposal for the improvement of the baggage sorting facility at Arlanda airport. Swedavia is a state owned company group that operates, owns and develops airports in Sweden. One of their main roles is to create accessibility needed to facilitate and streamline the work at the airport.Swedavia is constantly working to develop new solutions and enhancements that will help to standardize and automate the work at airports without major impact on climate and above all adapt these solutions to work.The project has been aimed to identify and isolate the problem at the check-in counter, investigate the possibility of setting a speed control on the DC motor driving the luggage conveyer belt at the check-in desk so that the luggage does not lose tracking already there, as well as evaluate the new sorting systems planned to be introduce in the upcoming refurbishment of the sorting area.To determine the parameters that are used to regulate the speed of the baggage conveyor belt, information about the inputs and outputs that participated in the process was gathered. Information was collected both practically and theoretically. Process was followed and monitored by the supervisor of the company, and a theoretical study was done separately on my own.

The borehole heat exchangers of today suffer from poor thermal and hydrodynamic performance. The purpose of this thesis is to improve the performance of ground source heat pump systems and thermal energy storages by increasing the energy efficiency of the borehole heat exchangers. For this reason, the annular coaxial borehole heat exchanger (CBHE) has been analyzed. This type of heat exchanger is interesting in terms of both thermal and hydrodynamic performance. A model has been set up in the program Comsol Multiphysics in order to investigate the heat transfer characteristics along the borehole.

Owing to this, the Linköping-based company Time In wants to introduce a new multifunctional product, which differs from other products in shape and function and lives up to the often overlooked, basic characteristics in a toy.With Time In as the assigner, the purpose of this master thesis has been to use simple means to produce a "learning by playing" concept. Since Time In sells toys and products suitable for children in nurseries and preschools, the development of the products has therefore included a study of nursery and preschool environments.The thesis has been carried out within the Product Design subject area at the Department of Management and Engineering at Linköping University. Concept development has been done in three phases: the Preparation phase, the Design phase and the Presentation phase.

Uppstagning av grenrör för Volkswagen rallycrossmotor
Denna rapport är ett examensarbete utfört av Per Jonsson, student vid Karlstads Universitet. Examensarbetet omfattar 22,5 högskolepoäng och är ett obligatoriskt moment inom högskoleingenjörsprogrammet i ämnet maskinteknik. Företaget Trollspeed tillverkar högeffektiva racingmotorer för användning av racingteam på elitnivå. Stora turboaggregat samt tillhörande utrustning sätts samman med specialbyggda avgasgrenrör för att uppnå största möjliga effektuttag. Tillsammans bildar dessa sammansatta delar en hög vikt och måste därför stagas upp. Detta arbete handlar om att ta fram en ny lösning för uppstagningen, då dagens lösning leder till oundviklig spänningspåverkan i grenröret som bidrar till att sprickbildningar uppstår. Projektet är indelat i två delar där första delen omfattar framtagning av ett mätverktyg för analysering av rörelse samt kraftpåverkan hos grenröret. Framtagningen av mätverktyget resulterade i en mätskala med visare för visualisering av rörelser och monterade lastceller för analysering av kraftpåverkan.

This is a thesis for a Bachelor Degree Project, performed in the subject MechanicalEngineering. The students Roger Malmberg and Simon Hagberg have carried out adesign project on behalf of the recently established company J&D Assisting systems,located in Halmstad.The project consisted in developing J&D's first prototype of a power assisting solutionfor wheelchairs. A power assisted wheelchair combines human power, which is deliveredby the arms through the pushrims, with Electrical motors, which are powered by a battery.The power assisted wheelchair is aimed at customers, who have used a regularwheelchair for a long time, but who have become weaker or just need additional powerwhen driving uphill. This kind of wheelchair will provide additional power for users,which will spare their wrists, elbow and shoulders. The product is torque sensor free andinstead it relies on the velocity.
Urban Vindkraft : ett nytt element i bebyggd miljö?
This paper aims to explore the phenomenon urban wind energy, its visual effect on built environment and the factors that affect the opinion towards new elements in the city. A place study of the city Gävle serves as a complement to the theoretical part of the paper. The theoretical discussion opens with an account for the technical and economical conditions of urban wind energy. It presents the technical basics, different types of turbines and a discussion occurring wind related techniques in built environment. Today, the knowledge of how the wind moves and acts in the rural landscape is quite good.

The purpose of this study is to investigate how twelve middle school teachers use educational
tools and what influences their choice of educational tools in Swedish language writing instruction.
To answer this purpose, three research questions were formulated: What does writing
instruction look like for middle school students according to the teachers in the study?
What influences teachers' choice and use of educational tools in writing instruction? What
opportunities and challenges do teachers experience in Swedish language writing instruction
when using different educational tools? Twelve teachers from variously sized municipalities
and with different experiences participated in the study through purposive sampling and
convenience sampling. The chosen method is qualitative semi-structured teacher interviews.
To analyse the results, this study employs analytical tools from the sociocultural perspective,
using concepts such as mediation, appropriation, the zone of proximal development, and
scaffolding. The results show that both analogue and digital tools are used in the teachers'
writing instruction. The choice of tools should be based on pedagogical considerations, with
an emphasis on social interaction and collaboration during the learning process.
Upplevelser av att ge palliativ vård utifrån sjuksköterskors perspektiv : En litteraturstudie
AbstractAim of the study: Aim of the study was to investigate whether there were any connections in time between different parts of care in patients with cardiac arrest and hypothermia treatment and cognitive and physical function six months after cardiac arrest and to investigate neurological outcome related to primary registered cardiac arrest rhythm after six months and if there were any changes in cognitive and physical functions as well as self-related health between discharge from hospital and six months after cardiac arrest.Method: The study included 39 patients admitted to three Swedish hospitals between 2008-2011. Cognitive and physical function was evaluated with Cerebral Performance Cathegory, CPC completed with Mini Mental State Examination, MMSE for cognitive function and Bartels Index, BI for physical function and Euroqol-VAS for evaluating the self-related health.Result: A significant connection was shown between time to start hypothermia treatment and BI, patients with longer time showed improved physical function after six months.Majority of the participants (66,7 %) had Ventricular fibrillation/Ventricular tachycardia, VF /VT, as primary registered cardiac arrest rhythm and in this group CPC and BI was significant better compared with the asystole /Pulsless Electrical Aktivity, PEA group.CPC, MMSE, BI and Euroqol-VAS were all improved over time.Conclusion: Participants with VF /VT as primary registered cardias arrest rhythm had significant better cognitive and physical function 6 months after hypothermia-treated cardiac arrest compared with participants with asystole/PEA as primary registered rhythm. This shows the importance of access to defibrillators in public places in the society and in hospitals and optimal education of lay people and medical staff. Cognitive and physical function and self-rated health improves over time, which might be a very important reason to convey patients, relatives and medical staff to continue cognitive and physical rehabilitation. Cykelolyckor i korsningar : Hur kan trafiksäkerheten förbättras?
Stockholm city has recently raised its ambitions for bicycle traffic, the goal is to achieve a larger andsafer bicycle traffic. But cyclists are more vulnerable on the roads than other vehicle users because of the lack of protection. This means that a large proportion of road safety for cyclists is based on the design of the traffic environment. Since most serious bicycle accidents are those that occur in conflict with motor vehicles, and the majority of these accidents occur at intersections, these areas are of great importance forcyclist?s safety.The purpose of this paper is to highlight bicycle accidents at intersections and to suggest improvements in three accident-prone junctions in Stockholm. This is achieved by the study of accident statistics, literature and finally three case studies.The literature study focused on cyclists, traffic safety and traffic safety measures.
