Placed within the field of recent research concerning religion and contemporary religious landscapes, this thesis aims to show conceptions of human life and body displayed in ten Swedish health magazines. The analysis aims to demonstrate the appearance of body and bodily experience and in addition see in what way ?westernized? religious traditions and methods from east Asia may contribute to perspectives of health. The main theories for the study are objectified versus phenomenological understanding of the human body by Drew Leder (1992; 1990) and Kristen Zeiler (2010). The purpose of the essay is to by means of a quantitative method investigate what the portrayal of GLBT-people looks like in a selection of Swedish and New Zealand newspapers. The essay focuses on aspects such as the gender ratio between GLBT-people who are mentioned and also those who are allowed to speak out in the newspapers. Also in what proportions the newspapers portrays the different fractions of the GLBT-term, what subjects are covered and what types of sources are used are areas of interest.The analysis is conducted through a quantitative research method where two Swedish newspapers (Aftonbladet and Dagens Nyheter) and two New Zealand newspapers (The Dominion Post and The New Zealand Herald) were selected. Three periods of 15 days were selected for each newspaper and electronic databases were used in order to try and collect all articles with relevance for this study.The theoretical background consists of Tiina Rosenberg?s theories about media?s role in the individuals? identity shaping, Nina Björk?s feminist theories connected to gender and power, and the patriarchal structure of society, and also Anders Sahlstrand?s accounts of journalism?s use of sources and their effect on the audience?s perception of the news presented.The main results from the analysis points towards preponderance in the occurrence of male homosexuality and male homosexuals.

ABB I-R Waterjet Systems combines the robotics and motion expertise of ABB Flexible Automation with high-pressure intensifier/pumping technology from Ingersoll-Rand to provide and continue to develop innovative waterjet cutting systems for global markets. The purpose of this assignment is to develop a process water purifier. The purifier should be applicable as an option to ABB I-R?s production cell Cutting-Box. At first hand the process water should be purified well enough to let out in the municipal sewage system, but the ultimate solution is purifying the process water to the range that recycling is possible. When investigating the different principle of purifying water, a research of different products and their manufactories was done. These different products were compared and the principle of filtration was the most applicable, as most of the products were designed for far larger applications. As the process water contains quite large amount of particles, it is necessary to perform the filtration in different steps. The process water purifier is therefore composed of a module of coarse filtration and one of micro filtration. In the module of coarse filtration the mainly amount of fibres and particles are eliminated. They are kept back in the container unit with the larger fragments and dumped with these when the container is emptied. In the module of micro filtration the filtration is performed in two steps. In the first step particles larger than 50?m are eliminated, in the second step the micro filter is setting the range of purifying, in this case 10?m.

This master's theses was carried out on assignment from Stockholm Vatten AB as a part of a project developing new waste water treatment techniques. The goal of the theisis has been to evaluate an anaerobic membrane bioreactor for treatment of waste water from Hammarby Sjöstad. The bioreactor has not been heated and the main interest has been to study the gas production, power consumption and the reduction of organic matter and nutrients.The system has been completed with a reverse osmosis unit and a total of four batch runs have been made with good results. The use of reverse osmosis allows nutrient in the waste water to be reintroduced into circulation as the reverse osmosis concentrate can be used as crop nutrient.The membrane unit is of VSEP ("Vibratory Shear Enhanced Processing") type and an extensive membrane test has been conducted. This so called L-test helped determine the most suitable type of membrane for the system to allow a higher ±ux and thus lower power consumption.

The use of Power Line Communication, PLC, as a communication solution for Automated Meter Reading, AMR, is popular by utilities in Sweden and other parts of the world due to demands of accurate and fast meter reading. However the use of the electrical grid as a communication medium is complex and sometimes problematic. This report handles some of the issues and problems that are important to understand when using the grid as a communications medium. Focus is mainly on investigating high frequency distortion in the Kristianstad power grid own by C4energi caused by a frequency converter. Measurements on site are done to investigate signal damping in the grid, different configurations for the frequency converter and signal strength of the PLC-system.

The construction of an identity among lesbian women during 1950-­?1965 is in focus in this master ?s thesis. My starting point is that identity, such as lesbian or any other identity, is formed in relation to other people and groups, as well as society. This thesis will also examine how lesbian women met and formed bonds with like-­minded, and whether these aspects changed, during the defined time period. The empirics is made up by letters written by women to Riksfo?rbundet fo?r sexuellt likabera?ttigande (a Swedish organisation for lesbian and gays) as well as an interview with two lesbian women who were born in 1938 and 1940.

Representanter frÄn Apoteket AB, Kalmar lÀns landsting, Datainspektionen och SjukvÄrdsrÄdgivningen SVR AB intervjuats i ett försök att beskriva, förstÄ och förklara de olika organisationernas syn pÄ e-recept, dess kommunikationskanaler och kommunikationssÀkerhetsansvaret vid överföring av elektroniska förskrivningar.

The intention of this study is to find out how the female celebrity is portrayed in women?s magazines directed at women of different age groups. The magazines that I have chosen to analyse are Frida, Veckorevyn and Damernas VĂ€rld. My aim is to find out what kind of celebrity appears in the magazines in terms of occupation and topics in the articles. Furthermore, the aim is also to determine whether the celebrity is portrayed in a different or similar way depending on the target group.

The purpose of this study is to investigate how homosexuality and homosexual adoptions are manifested in children's comic "Bamse" and study the result in the light of a brief background about the western society and gay history. The study has a historical gender perspective and focus homosexuality primarily in modern times. Drawing on critical theory and semiotic analysis, the study shows how ideas and ideology surrounding same-sex relations and parenting are negotiated in the ?Bamse? comic. 2010 was the year when the Bamse cartoon took a step into the gender debate and introduced two gay rabbits who adopted an infant.The study shows that despite the obvious intent to anchor homosexuality as normal and integrated in the society there are hidden ideologies that reveals homosexuality as abnormal and excluded.

Denna studie syftar till att undersöka om det förekommer nÄgon diskursiv diskriminering gentemot hbtq-personer. Detta undersöks genom att analysera hur skillnad mellan hbtq-personer och svenska, heterosexuella majoriteten konstrueras i en hatbrottskontext i tidningarna Dagens Nyheter, VÀsterbottens-Kuriren samt Helsingborgs Dagblad under perioden 1 januari 2003 fram till 1 januari 2012.Studien vilar pÄ en teoretisk utgÄngspunkt om att identitet Àr socialt konstruerat samt att medierna utgör en viktig arena för dessa konstruktioner. I studien har en kvantitativ innehÄllsanalys kombinerats med en diskursanalys som tar avstamp i Ernesto Laclaus och Chantal Mouffes diskursteori. Diskursanalysen bygger pÄ tvÄ delar, i ett första steg fokuserar den pÄ problemformulering dÀr problem, orsak och lösning kartlÀggs för att sedan i ett andra steg kartlÀgga texternas analogikedjor kring hur identiteterna offer och gÀrningspersoner skapas i diskursen. I den kvantitativa delen ingÄr 246 nyhetstexter som handlar explicit om hatbrott.

I samhÀllet finns det en förvÀntning pÄ att kvinnor och mÀn Àr olika och de ska ÄtrÄ varandra, vilket kan benÀmnas heteronormativiten. Att följa den förvÀntade normen innebÀr att fÄ ta del av privilegier som normbrytare saknar. Genom normkritik kan man granska och ifrÄgasÀtta de rÀttigheter och privilegier som heteronormativiteten innebÀr. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka huruvida sexualitets- och relationsundervisningen i gymnasieskolan bedrevs heteronormativt. Undersökningen Àmnade ta reda pÄ hur lÀrare pratade om homosexualitet, bisexualitet och könsöverskridande identitet och uttryck och huruvida lÀrarna problematiserar existensen av en heteronorm i samhÀllet.

Denna studie handlar om icke-heterosexuella* ungdomars upplevelser av mobbning i skolan p.g.a. deras sexuella lÀggning och ungdomarnas upplevelser om vad som görs av lÀrarna för att motverka denna mobbning. Studien genomfördes i tvÄ delar: förstudie och huvudstudie. I förstudien studerades lÀrarestuderandes Äsikter om utbildningen som de fÄr om mobbningen av icke-heterosexuella elever i skolan pÄ lÀrareprogrammet. I förstudie medverkade 11 lÀrarestuderande, alla var kvinnor.
