This thesis has aimed to study steering process and institutionalization in the context of educational policy work. This has been conducted by using empirical material from the political decision-making process that preceded the implementation of a new national program on how principals should be educated and certified. By using an aggregated theoretical point of view containing new institutionalism and traditional Swedish curriculum theory, the process was analyzed from different perspectives. The results depict a process that contained several actors who tried to shape the principal education program differently. From the theoretical perspectives, the decision-making process could be understood as an act of both self-interest as well as trust in their own beliefs and cultural values.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka svensklärares föreställningar om lärobokens roll i svenskundervisningen på gymnasieskolan. Enligt tidigare forskning dominerar läroboken i undervisningen i såväl Sverige som Norge men graden av läroboksanvändning kan vara kopplad till en rad olika faktorer. Några av dessa är undervisningsämnets struktur, lärobokens status och lärarens individuella lärarstil. Fyra yrkesverksamma lärare har intervjuats om hur de i sitt arbete förhåller sig till läroboksanvändning. Det tyngst vägande skälet mot att använda läroboken är att färdigproducerat material upplevs hämma kreativiteten.

In the informational age of today, continuous learning is of greatest importance. The demand for this seems to be increasing, while at the same time people are under more pressure to carry out more tasks in shorter amounts of time. A way to solve the problem of finding time to learn could be to make use of the possibilities that Internet offers for learning at a distance. The purpose of this thesis is to, from a pedagogical perspective, contribute to the discussion concerning Internet based distance education for a target population consisting of professionals. We have found that some of the courses included in the two certification programs which we have investigated are suitable for Internet based distance education.

Sense of coherence, SOC, is a way to study health and wellbeing in a salutogen perspective. SOC is a theory that Aaron Antonovsky came up with and it involves three elements; comprehensibility, manageability and meaningfulness. These three elements is a objective way to look at our existence. The aim of this study was to examine how high the pupils sense of coherence was in the grades 1, 3 and 6 in a school in Karlstad. And with the result as starting point have a discussion around the pedagogical consequences and which educational work procedures we can use to work with SOC in school.

Youth presentation of self on FacebookAuthors: Nicole Dreher & Anders SkoglundPresented: 01.06.2010Purpose: The purpose of this thesis was to examine how the, in the study, participating youths make their presentation of self on their Facebook profiles.Methodology: The method used in the thesis was a social semiotic analysis focusing on the social semiotic concepts: semiotic resource, semiotic potential, affordance, denotation and connotation. A social semiotic analysis of composition was also used with the purpose to gain a deeper knowledge of the social semiotic affordances of Facebook?s composition.Theoretical perspectives: The theoretical base of this thesis consists mainly of Erving Goffman?s theory on presentation of self in everyday life as well as relevant theories to youth culture in sociology and identity in social psychology.Conclusions: The results show that the youth?s presentations of selves mostly takes place in their profile picture, status updates, groups, fan pages and through their communication with other users on their wall. The borders between front and back stage on Facebook entirely depends on the norms that the reader expects the profile owner to uphold.

The purpose of this essay has been to seek understanding of how young people in high school and adult education experience the use of educational media tools in teaching. Examples of questions submitted material has been: What are the positive and negative experiences of ICT in the classroom?The essay is of a qualitative nature, in which five students were interviewed about their experiences of ICT in the school environment. The result is analyzed from a sociocultural perspective and from an inward-student perspective.The results showed that students felt that it was difficult to absorb many of the ICT facilities as sources of knowledge in the school environment. Due to lack of quality in teaching material and difficulties of the pupils to sort out the important information of the injected..

The increasing threat of climate change has led to a increased need for models to predict future climat. In these models the changes in the soil carbon pools due to changes in microbiel degradation of the organic matter can lead to both positive and negative feedback-effects. There is however a lack of consensues on the temperature respons on degradation soil organic matter. This paper aim to give a better understanding on the factors controlling the temperature respons. The factors studied were the carbon substrate qualitity and the physiological status of the microorganisms.

Människor blir allt mindre fysiskt aktiva och allt mer stillasittande. Barn och ungdomar ses som en ökande riskgrupp i sammanhanget och bör därför prioriteras. Syftet är att undersöka hur 17 ungdomar från två olika skolor i Göteborgsområden med hög invandrartäthet, låg socioekonomisk status och låg utbildningsnivå talar om fysisk aktivitet. Studien är en del i fas två av ett större europeiskt forskningsprojekt och har därför fått en specifik målgrupp tilldelad efter att fas ett genomförts. En kvalitativ forskningsmetod har använts i form av fyra fokusgruppsintervjuer som genomförts med ungdomar i åldern 13-14 år.

The porpuse of this paper is to find out how three teachers working in years four to six in a Swedish school say they use formative assessment and how they use it in educational practice, and if there is a difference in the use of formative assessment between year four, five and six. Formative assessment is the kind of assessment that aims to enhance the student?s learning, as opposed to summative assessment wich is intended only to summarize student?s accomplishments. To answer the purpose, I conducted qualitative interviews with the teachers, and observations in each of the teachers? classrooms.

Jag har i detta arbete ställt mig frågan Vilka kunskaper/färdigheter behöver en soldat utbildad i subarktiskt klimat kompletteras med innan insats i tropiskt klimat? vilken jag valt att svara på genom två delproblem:-          Vilka krav på individens färdigheter ställer det tropiska klimatet?-          Vilka färdigheter utvecklar soldaten vid utbildning i subarktiskt klimat? Jag har sedan använt svenska vinterreglementen för att ta reda på vilka kunskaper och färdigheter som en soldat utbildad i subarktiskt klimat införskaffar sig under sin grundutbildning. Därefter har jag fördjupat mig i den amerikanska djungelmanualen för att skapa mig en bild av vilka krav det tropiska klimatet ställer på individens färdigheter.Under studierna av de olika reglementena urskiljde jag då ett antal påverkansfaktorer vilka jag valde att använda som analysverktyg för att kunna göra en komparation mellan de olika klimatens krav på individen. Dessa olika påverkansfaktorer är Acklimatisering, Vätska/mat, Fysisk status, Klädsel, Hygien, Psykisk status och Sjukdomar/skador. Jag har sedan utifrån varje analysverktyg jämfört vad respektive miljös litteratur säger om individen kopplat till just den påverkansfaktorn och sedan diskuterat respektive påverkansfaktor var för sig.

AimThe aim of this study was to survey the physical fitness in boys with type 1 diabetes (IDDM). The results were compared to a control group with healthy boys that have preformed the same tests in other studies. Our questions were:1. How does BMI relate between IDDM-children and healthy peers?2.

Political scandals are constantly abound in the media, rulers face the global tribunal of the mass media and are forced to defend their actions and above all, their position in society. Intresset för vattenfrågor har ökat efter införandet av EU:s ramdirektiv för vatten (vattendirektivet, 2000/60/EG) och inneburit att vattenvård och hänsynstagande till vatten inom skogsbruket fått större fokus. Målet med vattendirektivet är att alla vatten inom EU (Europeiska Unionen) ska erhålla en god kemisk och ekologisk status innan år 2015 samt att ingen försämring får ske. Skogsbruket kan i vissa fall ha negativa effekter på vattenmiljöer. NPK+ och Blå målklassning är två skogliga vattenplaneringsverktyg som har utvecklats för att öka vattenhänsynen i skogen. Verktygen utgörs av ett inventeringsprotokoll som bedömer vattenmiljöns naturvärde (N), påverkan (P), känslighet för skogsbruk (K) samt plusvärden (+).
