This is a qualitative study of how 4 school teachers and 3 special educational teachers define the term ?pupil in need of special education?. They have each one been interviewed about this term, by the means of a semi-structured interview. Afterwards the collected information has been analyzed and seven major themes have been arranged out of them. From these themes it is possible to see that the term is hard to define, since the participants all believe that it should be decided by each individual case, if the pupil is in need of special education or not, and that the education in itself has to be relevant to the need, which means one cannot decide what special educational needs are, without a student who is in need of them.

Introduction: Intimate partner violence (IPV) is a great public health issue that can cause serious physical, psychological and psychosomatic injuries to the woman. Education is one out of many important protective factors against IPV. Aim: This study aimed to investigate the association between women?s educational level and IPV in low- and middle-income countries, the interaction between the education of the woman and the man and IPV, how education on different levels (individual-, family- and community-level) influences IPV and how gender is connected to education and IPV. Method: A literature-based study with 12 selected scientific articles as the foundation for the analysis was performed.

The debate in the media on a new Swedish sex education movie sparked our interest in this study. The twenty-eight minutes long movie ?Sex on the map? is the first of it?s kind in twenty-five years. It is also part of a bigger sex educational project that contains, apart from the movie, a book about sex education, a documentary and a teachers guide. The project is a co-production between the Swedish Educational Broadcasting Company (UR) and the Swedish Association for Sexuality Education (RFSU).We were interested in how teachers received information about the project, and what their attitudes were towards it.

Detta examensarbete handlar om hur berättandedrama kan stimulera till samspel och kommunikation mellan barnen och om hur barns lärande kan uppstår under dessa omständigheter. Studien tar sin utgångspunkt i ett sociokulturellt perspektiv, som ser lärande som socialt och kontextuellt betingat. Av särskilt intresse är hur barnen samspelar och kommunicerar med varandra under berättandedramats tre områden: berättande, bokskapande och drama. Den empiriska delen av studien har genomförts med hjälp av videoobservationer vid nio aktivitetstillfällen. Mot bakgrund av studiens empiriska undersökning framträder fyra utmärkande drag som de som i huvudsak kännetecknar kommunikation och samspel mellan barnen under berättandedrama, nämligen barnens tendens att: använda konkreta föremål och egen kropp vid samspelet, ge och söka bekräftelse, stötta varandra och förhandla med varandra.  Sammantaget präglas barns samspel och kommunikation under berättandedrama av konkretisering, bekräftelsebehov, stöttning och förhandling.

In 2014 came new guidelines for after-school centers. These guidelines clarifies that it is the principal who is pedagogically responsible for the after-school centers. Due to that fact we became interested in investigating how principals describe their educational leadership for after-school centers. With qualitative interviews as a method we have investigated how four principals describe their educational leadership for the after-school center based on the new guidelines and how they talk about their employees and the after-school centers. Our results are based on the empirical material we received from these interviews. By analyzing this empirical material, based on the theory of situational leadership, we received answers to our research questions. .

This study is an assignment from Västerbottens läns landsting (VLL). The study?s main objective is to examine physical exercise habits and the most common motives for exercise among employees at VLL. It also compares educational status and gender differences to see if there is any significant dissimilarity regarding motives. The study is a quantitative study that used an electronic questionnaire to collect data from the respondents.

SammanfattningUppsatsen är en fördjupning av en C-uppsats i ämnet pedagogiskt drama. Syftet med uppsatsen är att ta reda på hur elever uppfattar ämnet samt att påvisa ämnets användbarhet i arbetet med värdegrunden i skolan.Uppsatsens frågeställningar är:- Vad uppfattar elever i åldrarna 11-14 att undervisningsämnet pedagogiskt drama är?- Hur uppfattar eleverna att lektionerna med pedagogiskt drama har varit?- Hur förhåller sig denna uppfattning till värdegrunden i skolan?Metoden för arbetet är reflexiva intervjuer med enskilda elever samt parintervjuer. Tillämpningen utgår från en hermenutisk fenomenografisk induktiv metod där fokus ligger på den mening ett fenomen har för en grupp.Vi utgår ifrån de centrala dramapedagogiska perspektiven och förstärker dessa med verksamhetsteorin. Under arbetets gång sker hos författarna en reflektionsprocess, vilken påverkar arbets-sättet och utfallet.

This study is about how students 'performance in school is influenced by parents' educational background. The study has been performed by cooperation with two schools in Stockholm. One class in each school has participated and the students have amongst other questions answered regarding their grades in natural science subjects. To examine whether parents 'educational background affect students' performance, a quantitative survey in the form of poll has been conducted. Even a literature review was conducted in this area to get a clearer picture of how parents' educational background affects the performance of students.This study shows that students who have academic parents perform better than students who have not got academically educated parents.

The aim of this Master's thesis is to examine the contemporary educational tasks of the Swedish public library as they manifest in Swedish library journals. Our main question at issue is: Which educational discourses are there? And in relation to our main question: how do the concepts of information literacy, lifelong learning and adult education relate to each other? Is there an antagonism between the public library's duty to supply fiction as opposed to non-fiction? and: What are the consequences of these discourses in the service provided by the library?Our theoretical starting-point is the discourse theory as proposed by Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe. We analyse 39 texts from four Swedish library journals: Ikoner, bis, DIK-forum and Biblioteksbladet. The analysis is done in two phases.

This paper is named ?The status of the programme is low? ? Gymnasium teacher?s thoughts and attitudes towards students in the vocational- and the educational programmes. The purpose is, as the title reveals, to examine the attitude of four teachers in the Swedish gymnasium towards the vocational and the educational programmes and the students that attend either one of them. This purpose is accompanied by research which says that the educational programmes? status is higher than one of the vocational programmes.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate, analyse and interpret the educational ideals of the ABF (Workers Educational Association) as they are understood by five members within ABF. The paper also examines how the educational ideals are represented in the national guidelines and statues of the ABF. The basic theoretical perspectives are intercultural theory and theories about Bildung and adult liberal education in a multi-cultural pedagogical environment presented by Bernt Gustavsson and Hans Lorentz respectively.The empirical study consists of five semi-structured interviews and a text study of the official documents of the ABF. The data is interpreted with hermeneutic and semiotic tools. Organisational theory focusing on organizational culture has also contributed to the study.The result of the study, when analysed in accordance to the methods, shows mainly four things.

Syftet med mitt arbete har varit att ta del av fyra pedagogers erfarenheter av att arbeta med Educational Kinesiology och Brain Gym med elever i åldrarna 6-12 år. Jag har genom min empiri försökt närma mig en förståelse för Educational Kinesiology och Brain Gyms fördelar alternativt nackdelar.

The purpose with this paper is to examine if tertiary education and democracy have an impact on economic growth. In order to decide how democratic the examined countries are the democracy index constructed by The Economist is used. Besides the two central theories the purpose is also to explain why these variables could affect growth and to examine direct and indirect effects. Indirect effects mean that one variable affects another variable which thereafter has an impact on economic growth.34 OECD countries are compared in order to investigate whether education and democracy are strongly correlated with BNP per capita. Therefore a statistical design is used as method.The empirical results suggest that there is significant correlation between democracy and economic growth.

Sammanfattning Syfte och frågeställningar Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur pedagogiskt drama som metod kan integreras i den ordinarie undervisningen i skolan. Studien utfördes i en klass där eleverna arbetade med temat Årstiderna, ett område som ingår i ämnet NO. Dramaundervisningen anknöts till temat och fokuserade på avsnittet som handlar om årstidernas skillnader. Frågeställningarna som jag kopplar till syftet är: Hur kan pedagogiskt drama påverka elevernas kunskaper om årstider? Vad händer med klassen när pedagogiskt drama integreras i undervisningen för att utveckla elevernas kunskaper om årstider? Metod och teori Undersökningen är kvalitativ och bygger på deltagande observation och intervju.

The purpose of this study was to gain deeper knowledge about the special needs of guidance significance as an aid to students based on teachers' views and perceptions.Eight teachers from three different municipalities, active in primary school and middle school have been interviewed since all have participated in and have experience with special needs tutoring. Their responses were compiled and answered the three research questions: What experiences have teachers of special education counseling? How do teachers the guidance they received from a special teacher? What effect has the special educational guidance given for the inclusive education? The result shows that the special educational tutorial helps teachers gain a deeper understanding of students in need of special support and guidance to the mission vary in scope and content. The special educational tutorial that is aimed directly at the teachers seem to have a positive effect on inclusion and a critical/dilemma perspective while the consultative guidance primarily directed towards the adaptation of educational material and allows students to walk out of the classroom to receive special education promotes exclusion and ability grouping and a compensatory perspectives. From a sociocultural perspective pointing results of the study that teachers with special education tutoring experience to students in an inclusive education contribute to each other's learning,creating meaningful for everyone involved..
