This thesis deals with the issues of participation and influence in the multicultural society. The aim with the study is twofold, first to identify determinants improving participation and influence in this context, and second to see if the ecouragement of a strong civil society in ethnic segregated areas is a possible way forward to a multicultural democracy. This is conducted through a case study of brobyggarna in Malmo, Sweden, and how they as an integration policy is working with these questions. Six qualitative interviews have been conducted with seven persons workning as brobyggare or in close connection with them. Toghether with readings of earlier research this material is analysed through an eclectic model with theories put together in five analythic dimensions, Multicultural democracy, Social milieu, Unequal possibillities to participate and influence and Local powerstructures.

Further, our intension is to divide the stock market into three segments by company size, in terms of market capitalization, to control for size effects. Method:We have conducted this study by analyzing Swedish stock data in the period of 1989-2007. Within this time span, using overlapping formation periods, we have constructed two types of portfolios, winner portfolios and looser portfolios. The portfolios represent the 30 per cent best performing respectively worst performing stocks in terms of returns.

Social policy has now received an increased attention in the European Union. The European welfare states experience a high level of unemployment, which the EU now tries to handle through the European Employment Strategy (EES). The core of this essay is whether the welfare institutions of the European member states are integrating through an institutionalization process or not. Within the EU four different types of welfare models can be identified: the Scandinavian, the Continental, the Southern and the Anglo-Saxon. The welfare models differ in the institutional settings e.g.

Unaccompanied children that arrives in Sweden are usually placed in homes for care and residence, called HVB. It is the municipality's responsibility to provide adequate care and protection for the children. The aim of the study is to examine how a workgroup on a HVB home for unaccompanied children is working to meet the needs of the children, and how the workgroup improves the children?s integration process. The study also aims to examine the emotional labour of the workgroup, which illustrates how they can manage their own emotional behavior when working with the unaccompanied children.The study is based on a qualitative approach with detailed descriptions of five semi-structured interviews with the workgroup and assistant managers.

Denna uppsats handlar om integration och integrationsarbetet på landsbygden. Syftet med denna studie är att ta reda på hur aktörer i tre olika integrationsprojekt har upplevt samarbetet. Detta för att sedan se om det är möjligt att skapa en metod för hur man kan arbeta med integrationsprojekt i framtiden. Studien har sin utgångspunkt i en sammanställning av lyckade integrationsprojekt som finansierats av landsbygdsprogrammet. Tre projekt valdes ut för en djupare studie där kvalitativa intervjuer genomfördes med berörda aktörer. Detta för att få en så tydlig bild av hur de har uppfattat arbetet i de olika projekten. Resultatet av studien visar att man i ett tidigt skede identifierat vika kompetenser som behövs i projekten och därefter upprättat samarbeten med aktörer som besitter de kompetenserna.

I Sverige drabbas ungefär var sjätte person av en inflammerad blindtarm, akut appendicit. Detta gör att blindtarmsoperationer, appendektomier, är en av de vanligaste kirurgiska åtgärderna som genomförs runt om på landets sjukhus. Idag kan appendektomier genomföras på två olika sätt, antingen som en öppen appendektomi eller som en laparoskopisk appendektomi. Vid en öppen appendektomi avlägsnas blindtarmsbihanget genom ett snitt i bukens nedre högra del och vid en laparoskopisk appendektomi avlägsnas blindtarmsbihanget med hjälp av titthålskirurgi. Många randomiserade och kontrollerade prövningar har gjorts där de båda operationsmetoderna har utvärderats, men trots detta så har man fortfarande inte kommit fram till något definitivt resultat angående vilken metod som, med hänsyn till både kostnader och effekter, är den bästa.

Annika Lignell och Oskar BuhreInledning: Om några år har vi anledning att misstänka att den svenska välfärden kommer att försämras om inget görs den närmast tiden. När 1940- talets baby-boom går i pension kommer troligtvis underskottet i Sveriges statsfinanser att vara högt och framtidens arbetskraft, alltså vi, får betala för 50 procent fler pensionärer än idag. Med fler sjukskrivningar, ett nytt pensionssystem och fler förtidspensionärer är det intressant att följa utvecklingen eftersom finansieringen av välfärdssystemet baseras på skatteintäkter. Syfte: Vi avser att analysera om Sveriges statsfinanser är hållbara i framtiden genom att beräkna kostnaderna för de åtaganden som kan bli följden med dagens politik och beräkna en eventuell obalans i statsbudgeten.

This study is about different teacher?s ´conception of remedial classes and its function in Today´s School. ?A school for everyone? the utopia that all schools and teachers aspire for. All pupils, regardless of ethnic background, class, and religious affiliation should be able to go to school without being segregated and are seen as different.

Syftet med denna rapport var att undersöka vilka hinder som fanns då en skola skulle försöka integrera tjugotalet elever i olika åldrar som inte talar svenska i sin undervisning. Forskningen på detta område är sparsam även om Franzén (2001), Wikström (1996) samt Skolverket i sina rapporter (2003, 2005) presenterat teorier om hur vägen in i den svenska skolan ser ut. Fyra perspektiv antogs och styrdokument, skolledning, lärare och en elev användes på olika sätt för att informera om den pågående integrationsprocessen. Intervjuer och observationer av skolledning, lärare och elev pågick under fyra veckor i oktober år 2006. Det visade sig att svårigheterna för eleverna att få en fullgod undervisning, dvs.

The purpose of this study is to examin the depiction of culturalmeetings in history books in relatioon to the schoolguidelines, and how and why the description may have changed over time. To achieve this, a qualitative method was used to analyze the content of cultural meetings in Swedish schoolbooks after the World War II. The material used in the study was taken from eight editions of Alla tiders historia published between 1985-2011. The material was then put together and analyzed from the theoretical perspectives, which try to explain the factors that influenced the depiction of the texts.The results of this study shows, that over time, the school guidelines have incresed their focus on human value and the need for students to interact with people from other cultures. The depictions in the history books lives upp to the demands of the school guidelines, but this study shows that the main influence of the content of the book is the social context.

Uppsatsen undersökte en alternativ metod att kreditbetygsätta företagsobligationer. Metoden är baserad på en modell ursprungligen skapad av Merton (1974) och har modifierats av Byström (2003). Undersökningen utformades som en jämförelsestudie mellan kreditbetyg från kreditvärderingsföretaget Moody?s och mått på konkursavstånd beräknade ur Byströms modell. Modellen gör antagandet om effektiva kapitalmarknader och använder aktiekursinformation och mått på skuldsättningsgrad som enda informationskälla.
