This report contains a study of replacing nuclear power with biofuel. The nuclear plant, OKG north of Oskarshamn in Sweden has been chosen and an extensive literature study about the nuclear plant has been implemented. The main aspect of this report is the availability of biofuels and whether it would be economically sustainable. Sweden?s most common biofuels are examined with regard to scope of use and potential.

This paper examines the consequences of membership and participation in immigrant associations on individual immigrants? political integration and indirect political participation with reference to Swedish society. The theoretical underpinnings consist of a social structural outlook on social capital, combined with the Civic Voluntarism Model, both of which focus on the potential role of social networks for moving people into political action. After a presentation of parallel qualitative data over the experiences of individual members in a Finnish and Bosnian-Hercegovinian organisation, it is suggested that immigrant associations support the political integration of their members into the host society. Firstly, the case studies indicate that members of immigrant associations gain the opportunity to augment their civic skills, which is a significant prerequisite for political participation.

Kenya's population has tripled in recent decades, which have led to that food availability is a growing problem. To ensure food security, it is important that the return from crops increases. The aim of this study is to evaluate what impact the use of fertilizers and improved seeds has for farmer?s economic situation and income generation.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka om det har skett en förändring av den geografiska koncentrationen av textil- och klädesindustrin och dess olika sektorer i EU mellan 1992 och 2001 och om produktionen är fragmenterad, d.v.s. om de olika sektorerna inom textil- och klädesindustrin är koncentrerade till skilda länder. Många studier har gjorts för att undersöka den geografiska koncentrationen av textil- och klädesindustrin som helhet, men denna uppsats gör undersökningen på en mer disaggregerad nivå. Industribaserad gini, (koncentrations-graden) och Balassa-index, (specialiseringskvoten), har beräknats för industrigrenarna inom textil- och klädesindustrin och som mått på internationell produktionsfragmentering har intra-produkthandel tagits fram för länderna i undersökningen. Slutsatsen är att den geografiska koncentrationen för de olika sektorerna och textil- och klädesindustrin som helhet har ökat endast obetydligt, men att det finns relativt stora skillnader mellan de olika industrisektorerna.

Secondary schools have for decades debated whether they promote social reproduction which is considered to generate the homogeneous student compositions. The gap between the academic programs and vocational education programs is considered to increase. What in recent years has appeared in research is that the gap is increasing most tend to be in the specific academic program, particularly in science. This paper's intention is to describe the science program at a local level and the pupils who were admitted to the science program autumn 2009 on the basis of an educational sociological perspective. The survey consisted of a census in which all students were given the opportunity to answer a questionnaire.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the democratization process in Kurdistan on the basis of consolidation democracy with focus on arenas defined by Linz and Stepan (1997), namely economic, political, legal, civil society and arenas of state bureaucracy. Furthermore, I intend to explain Kurdistan?s road toward democratization in Kurdistan from 1991 until today, with a focus on the years 2003-2012. The main results are that Kurdistan has developed conditions that support a future consolidation of democracy. However, there are weaknesses in the economic situation, rule of law and the arena of bureaucracy.

Materialet har sammanställts och redovisas i diagramform. Analysen har sedan gjorts genom att jämföra empiri och teori vilket sedan är utgångspunkt för diskussion. Resultat & slutsats: Studien visar att företagen prioriterar internt kapital framför externt kapital samt att deras inställning till externt kapital varierar med marknadens konjunktursvängningar. I uppsatsen undersöks marknadskoncentrationen på den svenska marknaden för inrikesflyg. Utgångspunkt är Marknadsdomstolens dom 2001:4 rörande SAS missbruk av dominerande ställning, där användning av EuroBonus-programmet för poänginsamling inrikes förbjöds. Andra bolag kan dock fortfarande använda bonusprogram. En diskussion förs rörande substitut till flyget och bonusprogrammens konkurrenseffekter behandlas. Vi utreder om SAS fortfarande var dominerande år 2007 eller om beslutet bör omprövas.

The gap between rich and poor is increasing. Economic inequality is widening on a global level but also in individual countries like the USA and Sweden. The consequences for individuals are great considering life chance, health, educational level and standard of living. The curriculum for social studies from 1994 as well as the curriculum coming in effect 2011 emphasize the importance of teaching social class as a tool to interpret development in Sweden as well as the world. Earlier studies have looked at how much and in what way textbooks discuss gender, sexuality and ethnicity but social class has been overlooked. This study examines if social class is described in textbooks written for high school. The study also analyzes in which way social class is described.
