Syftet med detta examensarbete är att studera hur elever på omvårdnadsprogrammets tredje år ser på sin utveckling av synen på arbetslivet under utbildningstiden. Intresserat har särskilt legat på deras syn på ett arbete inom äldreomsorg och på hur de ser på omvårdnadsyrkets status. Studien bygger på kvalitativa intervjuer med åtta respondenter. Resultatet av studien är att eleverna har haft positiva förväntningar på den arbetsplatsförlagda utbildningen (APU) och de praktiska inslagen är centrala i valet av omvårdnadsprogrammet. Eleverna har ändrat sin syn på att arbeta inom äldreomsorgen till det positiva, i de flesta fallen.

For many years, the construction industry in Sweden has not developed much of an integral approach for design across disciplines. The sector?s impact on society, economics and environment is huge. To make the interactions within the construction industry more efficient, a relatively new concept called BIM (Building Information Modeling) has been introduced. The idea with BIM is that the different actors of the construction industry will work through intelligent CAD software, with common file formats and more cooperation between different actors during the various steps of the building and construction process.The technical consultancy company WSP Sweden is working actively to implement BIM within the frame of its activities.

AbstractMany of the refugees around the world today are children. Some of these children are travelling alone without anyone looking after them. These children flee from their countries to save their lives and as they are children they need special care and protection. This thesis has investigated the protection given to unaccompanied children during the asylum process in the two key instruments in the area: the Convention of the Rights of the Child and the Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees. The Refugee Convention does not contain any procedural rights and does not specifically acknowledge children, even though they are included in the scope of the Convention.

Denna studie syftar till att utforska synen på rapporteringen kring orkanen Katrina, samt om den förändrat synen på USA och amerikanernas socioekonomiska status. Grunden är den uppmärksamhet fattiga fick i bevakningen. Metoden är kvalitativ intervju och målet är att uppnå analytisk generaliserbarhet. Viktiga teoretiska utgångspunkter är Lippmanns texter om världssyn och agenda-setting, där områden som framing och third-person effect är framträdande. Analysen visar att intervjupersonerna främst är positiva till hur bevakningen fungerat.

The purpose of this essay is to compare two investigationprojects /evaluationproject (BBICOHPeL) regarding theoretical anchoring and operationmethods. Important questions in our research has been: What from BBIC can be found in the OHPeL-project, what has become of the fundamentals in BBIC when they have been introduced into this new context, has the ecological development theory remained in the OHPeL-project, is it possible to say that the OHPeL-project is a further development, distortion or something completely different from BBIC. To find answers to our questions we have studied 17 protocols from evaluationmeetings in the OHPeL project. This led us to the results that BBIC in many ways are present in the project. There are also differences between the projects.

Biodiversity can be described as the total variation of life forms, where diversity ranges from gene level up to the ecosystem level. The diversity can be calculated in a number of ways, and this study use one of these methods. In this study empirical food webs have been used and analyzed, where eleven characters are defined and used as parameters to calculate the Euclidean distances between food webs that describe the variation that may exist within classes of terrestrial, marine and freshwater habitats. The class who stood out and showed the greatest diversity at the ecosystem level was the marine food webs, which showed a high value of the average euclidean distance. The other networks were not as distinctive and the average of the euclidean distance in these classes was comparatively low..

Övervikt och fetma hos den vuxna befolkningen är ett växande hälsoproblem i stora delar av västvärlden. Utvecklingen i Sverige är likartad. Även bland barn och ungdomar har andelen individer med övervikt och fetma ökat mycket de senaste decennierna. Ett ökat intag av energirik mat i kombination med ett alltmer stillasittande liv är viktiga faktorer.I stora delar av befolkningen i Sverige verkar dock den stora ökningen ha stannat av och till och med minskat. Undantag från denna positiva förändring utgör vissa grupper med individer med låg socioekonomisk status.

This essay is a time-geographic study of workinglife mobilities and investigates two days of work for five respondents. One from home and the other from the persons workingplace. Qualitative and quantitative methods has been applied to illustrate and analyze the two days along with time-geographic constraints. The findings are concluded into themes which represent the two local pockets of order: Home and Workplace. Themes of home are: Comfort station, Household, Curtained-off, Tele-contact and Environment.

Högstadieelever kan antas uppleva skolrelaterade prestationskrav och forskningen tyder på att höga krav hos unga kan hänga samman med ökad risk för psykisk ohälsa (Rose & Perski, 2008). Syftet var att få en bild av upplevda skolrelaterade prestationskrav hos barn i år 8 samt möjliga uppkomst- och vidmakthållandefaktorer avseende dessa krav. Data insamlades via semistrukturerade intervjuer med 20 elever från skolor i områden med hög socioekonomisk status och bearbetades genom omväxlande induktiv respektive deduktiv tematisk analys. Analysen resulterade i teman kring barnens egna upplevda prestationskrav samt möjliga uppkomst- och vidmakthållandefaktorer, såväl externa som individrelaterade, till dessa krav. Det faktum att barnen befinner sig i tonåren uppfattades som en etablerande omständighet.

Utvecklingen av övervikt och fetma förekommer i alla åldrar och anses numera vara en kronisk sjukdom, och ersätter mer traditionella folkhälsoproblem. Tidigare studier har visat att både den fysiska och psykiska hälsan grundläggs i barndomen samt att föräldrars livsstil avspeglas på barnen. Syftet med studien var att fördjupa kunskapen om sambandet mellan föräldrars livsstil och barns viktuppgång. Metoden som studien utformades efter var en litteraturstudie, där tillvägagångssättet var att analysera ett antal vetenskapliga artiklar hämtade från vetenskapliga databaser. Resultatet av studien visade att föräldrars socioekonomiska status spelade en avgörande roll i utvecklingen av övervikt och fetma hos barn.

Through this thesis, we want to discuss how the marginalization of people, several precedent political, city planning- and engineering decisions resulted in a catastrophic outcome after hurricane Katrina in New Orleans 2005. We also put forward a case study of the Make It Right Foundation, to demonstrate how the residents of the Lower Ninth Ward are involved in the urban development of their community. We would like to draw attention to the power of citizens and how they can influence the urban development of a community after a trauma. This study also focuses on the mission of The Make It Right Foundation: which is to rebuild the Lower Ninth Ward with firm concepts on sustainable development where all dimensions are accounted: ecological, social, cultural and economic. The goal with this essay is to determine if the image of preschool, in a specified number of picture books, is consistent with the posted goals of the preschool operations in the curriculum of preschool published in 1998 (hereafter Lpfö 98). Besides that the essay is also planned to look at how the preschool?s status have changed after Lpfö 98 was established and if this is shown in the picture books. Therefore this essay will focus on picture books published 1998-2009 because after that a new version of Lpfö 98 was published. Also the picture books chosen for this study are all stories about preschool or kindergarten.The questions that this essay will answer are: How are the activities in preschool described, and how do they match the guidelines in Lpfö 98? In what way has the status of preschool been affected since Lpfö 98 was published? In what way has the teachers? role been affected and how is that shown?In order to answer these questions I will use a quality text analysis of picture books for children.
