AbstractThis essay concerns a qualitative case study seeking to understand six boys? reading habits and to investigate why it is that some boys who do not like reading nevertheless display good reading comprehension according to the results achieved for that skill in national tests. The study shows that the boys? perception of reading has a lot to do with the contact they have with books when they are small. Whether or not there are adult role models in the home and whether the early encounter with texts in school is a positive or negative experience is significant for the boys? later attitude to reading.

Denna uppsats undersöker vad som utgör kunskapshanteringen på en enhet inom en bilkoncern. Syftet med studien är att undersöka vad som utgör hantering och överföring av kunskap och vilka förutsättningar respektive hinder som finns med hanteringen och överföringen på enheten. Enheten som undersöks ingår i en svensk bilkoncern som säljer personbilar och lastbilar samt erbjuder tjänster som verkstad och finansiering. Av totalt 1200 anställda på företaget arbetar 80 stycken av dem på den enhet vi ämnar undersöka i vår studie, varav åtta säljare har deltagit i studien. Studiens teoretiska ramverk utgår huvudsakligen från Alvesson och Kärremans modell Model of managerial intervention, Davenport och Prusaks teori om kunskapsöverföring och tyst kunskap av Gustavsson och Rolf.Resultatet visar att hantering och överföring av kunskap utgörs av enhetens intranät och social interaktion mellan medarbetarna. Förutsättningar och hinder för hantering och överföring av kunskap är autonomi, samverkan, dokumentation och tillit. I diskussionen diskuteras resultatet och vidare presenteras studiens slutsats.

Six cows were subjected to an intravenous glucose tolerance test (GTT) to evaluate the amount of glucose that is needed to stimulate the release of insulin from pancreas. Four of the cows were in early lactation and two were non-lactating and not pregnant. Series of blood-samples were collected to analyze the concentration of insulin and glucose in the blood. The cows were given lower levels of glucose than have been used in earlier glucose tolerance tests. The levels of glucose given were 7,5 mg/kg BW, 15 mg/kg BW, 30 mg/kg BW and 50 mg/kg BW.

Långvarig smärta är ett växande hälsoproblem med en komplex symptombild. Precis och igenkännande information är en förutsättning för att komma vidare i den egna hanteringen av långvarig smärta. Syftet med studien var att undersöka om en information om smärta med fokus på egenhantering på en CD-skiva kan påverka self-efficacy och coping hos personer med långvarig smärta. Deltagare i studien (N=22) uppfyllde de uppsatta kriterierna för deltagande och lottades in slumpmässigt i interventions respektive kontrollgrupp. Studien pågick under en månads tid med självskattning med hjälp av instrument och enkäter vid studiestart, i samband med intervention och vid avslut.

The history of environmental reporting began in the early 1990?s when some companies included the environmental issue in their annual report. The increased interest of ethical and sustainable investments and demands from different stakeholders conjure a change of the report design. To develop the environmental reports and create design guidance for sustainability reports an organisation called Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) was born. The GRI is environmental reporting taken to another level, a level that is according to sustainable development.

The use of tobacco is one of the largest health risks for human. Tobacco-users have an incrased risk of deterioration in their oral health. Individuals starts to use tobacco when they are young, often at the same time as they are going in an athletic sport club. It also seems that children are starting with tobacco habits when they are active in athletic sport clubs. The aim of this study was to examine and compare tobacco-habits of young men in and between three different athletic sport clubs.

Starting out as a minor form of amusement, the game industry has become one of the most lucrative andsuccessful in the entertainment business competing against giants such as television, movies and music.As the internal competition within the developer community grows companies work hard at discoveringnew ways to attract and keep customers. By having a playcentric approach focusing on user experiencethey hope to achieve that goal. This thesis describes the process of designing a game with focus on theplayer. We apply the concept of flow on game development and investigate through research throughdesign if we are able to create a game that keeps the player in flow.Play tests showed several elements such as control issues and too difficult challenges early in the game,affecting the possibility for players to experience flow while playing. How the renovation of the vast Swedish existing building stock with renovation needs will be performed is considered as decisive in order to achieve the target set by the Swedish government of reducing the energy use by 20 percent by 2020. Consequently, the challenge of the building sector consists in reducing the energy use in the existing building stock but at the same time ensuring that the indoor environmental quality is improved and the cultural values are maintained.So far, there have been a few renovation projects which strongly have reduced the energy use and at the same time have taken into account the environmental aspects and the cultural values. The main reasons are that there have been few incentives and a lack of routines in order to steer efficiently a ?sustainable renovation?.The participants in a Nordic project on sustainable renovation thought that it would be a strong advantage to link the concept of sustainable renovation to the Miljöbyggnad certification system. Indeed it is trusted by the Swedish building and construction sectors and can provide sustainability targets in order to steer renovation processes.The objective of the master thesis is to show how the Miljöbyggnad certification system could be integrated in practice in the renovation process of Riksbyggen, an organization which administers housing associations (Bostadsrättsföreningar) and build houses.

The landscape in the interior of Norrland has undergone dramatic changes since the deglaciation as a consequence of faultings, earthquakes and tilting of the landscape westwards. Archaeological investigations along former shorelines by the use of models of isostatic land uplift, have revealed many Mesolitic settlements in northern Sweden. Döudden, in the county of Arjeplog, has been investigated by archaeologists that identified settlements from 5200 BC.
