In inhalation anesthesia life-support systems are used to provide gases to the patient and to monitor important parameters. These systems are used in dynamic and stressful situations where the information-load on the operators often is significant. This thesis presents a design concept of an anesthetic system. The design goal has been to keep the information-load on the operator low with the objective to minimize confusion and error.A number of contextual inquiries were made in the operating room during surgery at four hospitals in Sweden. The goal was to understand the actual use-situations when anesthetic systems are employed.

Dagkirurgiska operationer står för en stor del av den operativa verksamheten i dag. Många patienter upplever det fördelaktigt att opereras dagkirurgiskt eftersom det påverkar deras vardag i mindre grad. Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva patienters upplevelse av att vara vaken under en operation i regional anestesi. Inklussionskriterierna var att de skulle ha varit vaken under sin operation, komma ihåg operationen samt vara över 18 år. Tio av de femton tillfrågade valde att delta, åtta var kvinnor och två män i ålder mellan 36 och 72.

Today it is not unusual to use a secondary screen to accompany a primary screen. The possibility to integrate these two in the form of an application for the secondary screen have long been possible but have not been developed to full potential. This thesis aims to study the use of the extra information and functions this type of application would make possible and how this type of application could be used.For this study a prototype-application including a real time newsfeed and a static menu for a specific episode of a Tv-series was created based on the information collected in an online survey. The application was tested on a number of people who got to evaluate the experience in short interviews and were given the possibility to recommend changes in the application.The result after the study showed the people where torn about what kind of information would best fit the application but showed over all that a dynamic newsfeed with information continuously updated with the episode where most appreciated. The problem with the difference in interest around the categories would be solved first and foremost by the application being configurable so that every single user has the possibility to choose which kind of information to be updated in the newsfeed.

AbstractElderly people are going to be a growing number in Europe. Between one third are going to be 60 years or older at 2025. For Sweden the situation is going to be similar. A reduced muscle function could lead to complications for the individual to perform daily tasks and will lead to a higher rate for falling and getting bone fractures. The positive sides are that for men and women there are a possibility for maintaining physical function and strength even in older years.

Att ha ett autismspektrumtillstånd innebär en omfattande störning i utvecklingen som karaktäriseras av stora brister i förmågan till social interaktion, kommunikation och i hög utsträckning ett ritualistiskt och stereotypt beteende. Det finns en stor variation i uppvisade svårigheter och hur barn svarar på en intervention, vilket försvårar att dra samstämmiga slutsatser om vad som är effektiv träning för barnen. De mest studerade behandlings­programmen är de med tidig intensiv hembaserad beteende­intervention (EIBI). I denna studie undersöktes 11 barn före och efter ett års träning med beteendeterapeutisk intensiv­träning inom rutinvården. Syftet var att se om träningen påverkade barnens adaptiva förmågor och förändring av problembeteenden.

Tyngdvikten i denna uppsats kommer att ligga vid vegetationen under dess nyplanterade och unga år, då de fortfarande är plastiska och formbara. What the places have in common are that they all contain sound installations.

This paper examines the function of narrative discourse in television talk shows. Basing our analysis on five episodes of the Swedish talk show Skavlan, we illustrate how narratives are initiated and elaborated by the participants of the show. The analysis shows that the institutional roles are challanged and that the roles vary between the host ant the guests. The analysis also shows that when guests introduce and elaborate stories they use the same discursive actions and resources as the host. When participants enter an actvie role in their storytelling the hos takes a more restrained role in which he lets the the conversation evolve spontaneously.

För att göra informationen tydligare för en larmoperatör som sitter och övervakar larm som kommer in från ett antal olika nätverkskomponenter så har vi skapat ett system som förser larmen med extra information, kallad Context Type, så att vi kan presentera larmen på ett enklare sätt. Vår informationsberikning, även kallad mappning, är utbyggbar för att möta kravet på framtida utveckling. En webbaserad klient skriven i JavaScript är skapad för att presentera larmen på ett nytt innovativt sätt som är baserad på context typen istället för larmobjektet. Mappningen är skapad med hjälp av Python kod och begränsas av att endast använda textfiler som datakälla och webbapplikationen är endast utvecklad för webbläsaren FireFox samt att visningsintervallet för larmen är begränsat till ett dygn med entimmesintervaller. Mappningen var långsam då vi använde oss av regular expression.

When the emissions from the diesel trucks today accounts for a large part of the total emissions from the road traffic, the trend with a more extensive use of diesel trucks for transportation will therefore lead to increasing carbondioxide emissions to the atmosphere. Because of the fact that technical progress in the form of optimized engines and shifts in the means of transport sometimes result in even greater emission levels, other solutions to this problem must be studied to decrease the emissions of carbondioxide from the diesel trucks. The purpose of the thesis is to show how a decrease of the carbondioxide emissions from diesel trucks in Sweden can be achieved in a costeffective way by the use of a carbondioxide tax and a differentiated vehicle tax. The method used in order to fullfill the purpose of the thesis is studies of literature, mainly of public government reports. Literature of enviromental economics will be used to show the need of a tax and how to determine the dynamic effective carbondioxide tax in steady-state.

Because of this, the urban areas have become an important part in the debate about the effects on the environment and sustainability. In many countries word wide initiatives have been taken to build sustainable cities and eco cities, the Stockholm Royal Seaport is one example. The vision for the district is to become a world class sustainable city based on the three dimensions of sustainable development: social, economic and ecologic. The municipality of Stockholm has set requirements for the buildings? energy usage, emissions and amount of waste generated during the building process.
