The aim of the study was to reach a deeper understanding and knowledge about how women with an experience of prostitution perceive what this has meant for them and how it has influenced their lives. The questions of the study were: (1) How has the prostitution experience affected the women in their lives? (2) How have they learnt to deal with this experience? To answer these questions a qualitative method was used where interviews were conducted with four women with experience of prostitution. All women experienced that the prostitution had affected their lives. Examples given that inter alia relationships, sexuality, and self-image had been affected.

School can be an effective environment for achieving a more equal health among children and adolescents, since many individuals can be reached by the health promoting work in the school. In the year of 2000 a project in Skåne was started for the development of health promoting schools. The health promoting projects however, have shown to be of short Duration. So, as an alternative, the integration of the health in school ought to be tried. The aim of this study is to give examples how health promoting schools can strengthen their profile.

This is an examination of the Swedish unemployment insurance system and the effects it has on the Swedish long-term unemployment. A search model is explained to give an understanding to the incentives of the unemployed. Different mechanisms that create unemployment and that could create long-term unemployment are investigated, but primarily the unemployment insurance is in focus.The Swedish unemployment insurance has undergone several changes the last fifteen years that have improved its efficiency. The introduction of a finite Duration of unemployment insurance entitlement was an important step and so was the decrease in the replacement ratio. Even so, I assess that there is still room for improvements of the incentives to search for work among the unemployed.

Barn och ungdomar är mindre fysiskt aktiva vilket kan ge påverkan på den mentala hälsan, med minskat välbefinnande som följd.Syfte: Att belysa vilka effekter fysisk aktivitet har på barn och ungdomars mentala hälsa.Metod: En litteraturstudie där artikelsökning utförts i Pubmed, PsycINFO, Cinahl och ELIN@Kalmar. Sammanlagt inkluderades 8 artiklar i arbetet. Dessa kvalitetsbedömdes med stöd av bedömnings- och analysmallar för kvalitativa respektive kvantitativa artiklar. Artiklarnas resultat kodades, kategoriserades och sammanställdes utifrån huvudkategorierna mental hälsa och fysisk aktivitet.Resultat: Det övervägande resultatet är att fysiskt aktiva barn och ungdomar har en bättre mental hälsa.Slutsats: Den övervägande slutsatsen är att fysisk aktivitet påverkar den mentala hälsan och att intensitet, Duration och typ av aktivitet inverkar på resultatet. Dessutom betonas aktiviteten som viktig i sig för den mentala hälsan..

This is a technical report about cement stabilization in general and the stabilizationprocess during the construction of a warehouse in Halmstad, Sweden in particular and iswritten at the section for economy and technology at Halmstad University incollaboration with NCC Anläggning.NCC encountered variations in compression strength in the stabilized material on the firstwarehouse that they constructed for the company Biltema. In our report we used thestabilization process of the second warehouse for the same company as a reference todetermine what could be done to get a more homogeneous result for future projects.We also looked in to what testing method is the most suitable to determine the result ofthe stabilization.After interviews with people involved in the process and visits on the work site we havecome to the conclusion that the most probable cause to the variations in compressionstrength is segregation in the ballast material. This segregation can occur in severaldifferent occasions in the process such as during the production, transportation andhandling on the work site.Other causes for the variation can be improper compaction, overlapping stabilization insome places and different Duration of hardening of the samples that are tested.The best way to do in situ test of the stabilized material is to do seismic investigations asthose are non-destructive tests in comparison to taking core samples and you can discoverany cracks or air bubbles in the material..

I syfte att testa metodengjordes en pilotstudie med fem semistrukturerade intervjuer. Den insamladedatan bearbetades med hjälp av kvalitativ innehållsanalys.

The aim of the study was to investigate the performance of postlingually deaf adults on parts of the swedish dysarthria test Dysartribedömningen, and to compare these results with a matched group consisting of normal hearing speakers without any known speech disorder. The group consisted of 17 participants ranging between 42-86 years of age. Participants were assessed focusing on articulation, prosody, intelligibility and through a self-assessment of communicative participation. There was a statistically significant difference between groups on prosody that manifested primarily as a slower speaking rate in the cochlear implant users. No significant differences between groups as to articulation, intelligibility or communicative participation could be found.

In the year 1783 a fissure eruption from Laki in the southern part of Iceland produced a large amount of volcanic gases during a period of eight months. The volcanic gases and aerosols spread across the northern hem sphere due to ideal weather conditions and had a substantial impact on the environment, human health and also climate effects. This, so called dry fog, caused severe health problems, which led to death casualties, killing animals, crops and other vegetation. The consequence was a widespread famine which was aggravated by a hard and long winter in 1783/84. Analysis shows that the Icelandic volcanoes are the primary risk to produce dry fog that can affect Sweden.

Syftet med studien var att beskriva arbetsterapeuters erfarenheter av interventioner för klienter med depression. I studien deltog åtta legitimerade arbetsterapeuter, inom öppen och slutenvård, som hade erfarenhet av interventioner i arbetet med klienter som lider av depression. Data samlades in genom semistrukturerade intervjuer med stöd av intervjuguide. Det insamlade materialet analyserades genom att använda en kvalitativ innehållsanalys och analysen resulterade i tre kategorier; strategier för att möjliggöra förändring, anpassning av aktivitet och grupp som terapeutiskt medel. I resultatet framkom vikten av att klienten fick lära sig nya strategier i syfte att lära sig känna igen risksituationer och påminnelsesignaler i miljön och på ett mer framgångsrikt sätt kunna hantera vardagen.
