This thesis of 15 hp has been implemented at Halmstad University, in collaboration with Saab Dynamics in Linköping. Saab Dynamics is a company operating in the defence industry where competition is tough. This necessitates new ways to increase efficiency in the company, which is the basis for this thesis. Saab Dynamics wants to introduce simulation driven design. Since Saab Dynamics engineers have little experience of simulation, required a user methodology with clear guidelines.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate if there are environments that use some kind of central authentication system within institutions/schools. The hypothesis is that an institution not using a form of central authentication service has more need for maintenance and as such is considered a higher cost for the organization. The gathering of data has been done through interviews with technical personal at Blekinge Tekniska Högskola and Linköpings Universitet. Based on the technical background of the authors, and the system limited to discussing Windows and UNIX operating systems, a discussion and analysis of the systems working today has been done, with emphasize on the hypothesis..

In order to continue to be competitive in the current industrial climate, producers must increase efficiency at their plants. Several Swedish companies choose to utilise the principles of Lean production. Tour & Andersson AB (TA) has elected to create their own model using Toyota?s productions system which has been named TAPS (Tour & Andersson Production System). Following two years of working with TAPS the company has decided to introduce Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Most of the work carried out in the maintenance department today is in form of repairs to already faulty equipment.

As the final course in the education ?University Diploma Programme for Process Operators? there is a thesis in cooperation with a company required.This thesis is about operator maintenance and 5S made at Metsä Board in Husum.In this report you can read my opinions and conclusions based on literature studies and the interviews that have been made with the staff at PM6 (the paper machine).I chose to focus on the theory of lean, 5S and operator maintenance because it covers the area of this thesis.The operators shall do their rounds to make sure that the equipment works fine. They shall also write down things that they notice in a checklist. This is not done as it should be and the question is: can this be solved by using 5S?My conclusion of this thesis are:Better review of the task so that everyone is involved.

Kan man optimera en verksamhet genom planering? Den här uppsatsen tar avstamp i hypotesen att det finns skillnader i förvaltning av fastigheter och parker och att fastighetsförvaltningar generellt sett är bättre på att upprätta drift och underhållsplaner än parkförvaltningar. Vidare behandlas frågan om planering kan förbättra verksamhetsstyrning i en verksamhet.De grundfrågor som behandlas i arbetet är:- Behov och nytta- Problem och hinder- Kommunikation- Innehåll - Kan dessa planer användas som instrument för verksamhetsstyrning?- Skillnad mellan förvaltning av fastigheter och parker/utemiljöerI arbete sammanställs litteraturstudier i hur man kan förbättra sin verksamhetsstyrning genom god planering, samverkan och kommunikation. För att en verksamhet ska fungera är det viktigt att alla har en gemensam värdegrund.

This thesis paper discusses the results of a survey which was conducted to investigate the potential usefulness of mobile apps in the maintenance department at Perstorp Specialty Chemicals AB. The paper contains four sections, a theory section, a method section , a section that explains the functionality of the app, and finally a results section where the results and conclusions of the survey are discussed. The theory section explains and discusses relevant terminology used in the computer science field and in the maintenance industry. The theoretical model used in this paper is also discussed. The methods section gives a stepwise description of the project and a description of platform and software used.

I detta examensarbete försöker vi identifiera styrke- och förbättringspotentialer inom drift och underhåll för pappersmaskiner med avseende på underhållsorganisation, tekniska förbättring¬spotentialer hos pappersmaskiner samt kompetensförsörjning. Styrkorna och förbättrings¬potentialerna har i en jämförande studie identifierats för tre pappersbruk. Uppgiften utgör en förstudie för ett eventuellt större forskningsprojekt. För att kunna jämföra uppgifterna krävdes det att vi tillbringade en stor del av tiden på pappersbruken. Information för att ta fram åtgärdsförslag till de valda områdena gjordes genom intervjuer, observationer och brainstorming.

Construction and maintenance of forest truck roads are a necessary element of industrial forestry. Payment for contracting services in this context can be done according to a number of payment models. This study will focus on the methods and consequences associated with a change of Holmen Skog?s payment model from per hour to per metric ton for ballast hauling. The aim of this study is to improve the economic efficiency of Holmen Skog?s ballast hauling in construction and maintenance of forest truck roads. This is done by formulating and evaluating a proposal for a payment model based on crowns per ton.

This bachelor thesis is written as a part of the geography program at Stockholm University, Sweden, and the study was conducted from April to June 2012.Tuberculosis (TB) is an airborne disease and one of the most widespread infectious diseases in the world with more than nine million new cases each year (SMI 2012, digital source). The disease is a major source of death and suffering in many places and the number of deaths remains high despite the availability of highly efficacious treatment. To control and prevent further spread of TB, the mapping of the disease spatial distribution is of essential importance.In this study, maps were produced that shows the spatial distribution of TB between the years 2002 to 2011 in the municipality of Stockholm. These maps allow an analysis of the spatial distribution at a local scale over time.The aim of this paper is to study how the spatial distribution of TB has looked like in the municipality of Stockholm the last 10 years and to analyze why the spatial distribution of the disease looked like it did. This study is based on the hypothesis ?drift?.

In the government's bill on infrastructure for 2010-2021, the government presents that road investments should be prioritized before investments in the railway. The grants for operation and maintenance of the railways are much higher then in the last government's bill. Furthermore the current founding of investment in railways is higher then for road investment which is in opposite of the bill on infrastructure's directives. Therefore the purpose with my thesis is to find which factors that can explain how come the government has chosen to take these actions. As a model to help me achieve my purpose I have been using a modified version of the DBO-theory, where the basic factors to explain an action is Desire, Belief and Opportunities.

The purpose of this study is from a case study develop a model that aims to cost effectively improve productivity in a manufacturing production process. The study highlights the importance of having knowledge about customer needs and using a holistic process perspective when improving productivity to identify the relations between the process stations and by this find problems that cause waste and losses in productivity. Tools and methods used to make production more efficient such as single minute exchange of die, spaghetti diagram, 5s and master production schedule is presented an applied in the model to see how these effect costs, productivity etc.Maintenance effects on quality and productivity in a manufacturing company will as well be covered in this thesis. The results and conclusions finally reveals how the process improvement tools, maintenance and production planning for example effects each other and why it is important to establish an attitude in the company where continuous process improvement should be emphasized..

Under vår verksamhetsförlagda utbildning ingår det att göra en fördjupning i ett för mig personligen intressant ämne, men även för min arbetsgivare, i detta fall Vägverket Produktion Drift Norr. Jag har tillsammans med min arbetsgivare valt att titta närmare på hur skyltningen kan effektiviseras samt vad skyltningen kostar under ett projekt. Vägverket Produktion driver varje sommar ett stort antal Väg & Anläggningsprojekt där en sak som skyltning är en stor del för att jobbet ska fungera. En fundering som allt som oftast dyker upp är hur skyltningen kan skötas så smidigt som möjligt. Ett annat problem är att avgöra vilket pris som ska sättas i anbudsskedet för just skyltningen.

Denna uppsats analyserar ?det fria? i en översättning ? alltså de kriterier som utmärker en fri översättning. Dessutom analyseras texttrogenheten utifrån ekvivalensbegreppet.I detta syfte ligger tyngdpunkten på en analys av semantiska tillägg ochutelämningar i måltexten. Dessutom studeras översättning av engelska namn, talspråk, svordomar och metaforer, samt ändring av syntaxen i måltexten. Materialetbestår av de två svenska översättningarna av Jack Kerouacs roman On the road, nämligen På drift från 1959 och På väg från 2008, som jämförs med originaltextenoch med varandra.

En av de mest grundläggande och viktiga grundsatserna i redovisningsteorin är den som behandlar fortlevnadsprincipen, företagets fortsatta drift. Enligt tidigare forskning har man kommit fram att going concern assumption inte har haft någon viktig funktion vid formulering av redovisningsprinciper, även om den har ansetts som det mest ?heliga? antagandet.När en revisor gör ett uttalande om ett företags fortsatta drift kan det få negativa konsekvenser, då intressenter baserar sina beslut på årsredovisningen och revisionsberättelsen. Ett negativt yttrande i revisionsberättelsen kan leda till en självuppfyllande profetia, vilket kan göra det intressant att utreda huruvida revisorerna upplever några svårigheter kring bedömningen av den fortsatta driften. Vidare ämnar vi undersöka om RS 570 ger tillräcklig vägledning i samband med revisionen, samt om det råder allt för stor försiktighet vid bedömningen.
