In order to increase the independence in everyday life of the elderly population, we have developed a lifting aid for loading in the private car trunk. Independence from outside assistance affects self-esteem in a positive direction and can help increase the quality of life for a large group of individuals. As people age and experience changes in performance, it is important that aids and support is available, particularly to reduce the experience of aging and it?s increasing physical limitations. The aim was to develop a function prototype characterized by simplicity, which facilitates loading of the private cartrunk.The project was conducted at the request of Autoadapt AB, which is one of the leadingactors in car adaptations for individuals with disablilities.

Arbetet i maskinavdelningen ombord ett fartyg är ofta krävande på grund av tuffa fysiska arbetsförhållanden, särskilt när det gäller obekväma arbetsställningar. Under de senaste decennierna har den tekniska utvecklingen fort gått framåt, vilket har lett till mindre besättningar ombord. På grund av en mindre optimal design av maskinrummet har ibland arbetsuppgifter tagit längre tid, då besättningar tvingas ?arbeta runt? designen för att kunna genomföra sina arbetsuppgifter. Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur och i vilka situationer besättningsmedlemmar tvingas använda sig av alternativa lösningar för att kunna utföra sina arbetsuppgifter samt vilka risker de upplever att de utsätts för.

The residential yard at Kvarteret Landsfiskalen 1, in the area Herrgården in Rosengård, Malmö was built in 1971 and has since then been reconstructed twice, in 1984 and 2008. The yard is found in an area which was built during the years 1965 ? 1974, a period in which the swedish goverment approved a decision to build one million homes, and much of the events in this particular yard is also typical for the process in many other areas built during the same period.At the original construction the design of the yard was entirely incused by the pressure in time and finance, one was under at that time, in order to over- come the housing shortage. The design it has nevertheless been given, reflects the esthetic ideals of that time well.The building of the area was barely finished when the swedish authori- ties started handing out grants in order to support the rearmament of the outdoor environment in the areas built during the so called ?million program?.

SammanfattningBakgrund: Diabetes förekommer hos 3-4 procent av Sveriges befolkning. Uppkomsten av diabetes är ofta relaterad till livsstil. Hur människor upplever att få diagnosen påverkar synen på sjukdom och framtid. Människor som får sjukdomen är i behov av stöd från vårdpersonal. Syfte: Beskriva vuxnas upplevelser av stöd efter att ha fått diagnosen diabetes mellitus.

Syfte och frågeställningar: Syftet med studien är att se om och i så fall hur straffet har en latent genusskapande funktion genom att se till hur personal och intagna upplever främst behandlingsprogrammen, men även ?vardagslivet?, på en anstalt. Vi har använt oss av följande frågeställningar:? Efter vems önskemål/behov är behandlingsprogrammen utformade?? Hur upplevs möjligheten att förändra/påverka behandlingsprogrammen?? Hur upplevs graden av frivilligt deltagande i behandlingsprogrammen? ? Hur upplevs skillnader/likheter mellan manliga och kvinnliga anstalter i form av behandlingsmöjligheter? Metod och material: Studien bygger på en kvalitativ metod, där intervjuer ligger till grund för resultatet. Dessa intervjuer har kompletterats med material rörande de aktuella behandlingsprogrammen för att se om det finns en koherens mellan teorier/policy och upplevelser/praxis.

Agriculture has to be performed in a sustainable way in order to sustain high yields and to support a globally growing population. Functional soil properties are fundamental for high yields and in order to achieve good soil conditions sustainable management is a key. Loss of soil organic material and increased soil acidity are problems associated with degradation of soils and hence less sustainable agriculture. In this thesis, the effect of different agricultural systems on soil organic matter, pH and yield was examined. The systems examined are a cereal system with straw removal or returning and a ley system, all with different nitrogen levels.

Botanically diverse pastures are commonly used in New Zealand to reduce the ruminant environmental impact by reducing the methane production from the rumen digestion. In order to evaluate the effects diverse pasture species have on the milk fatty acid profile seventy-two lactating Friesian-Jersey crossbred dairy cows were used in a randomised block design with two replicates of six treatments. Six different pasture mixtures were fed at a daily allowance of approximately 15 kg DM/cow/day. The mixtures were categorised as either a simple or a diverse pasture. The simple mixtures all contained white clover with the addition of either a standard diploid perennial ryegrass (RG), a diploid high sugar ryegrass (HS) or tall fescue (TF).

Outdoor recreation habits in metropolis and rural areasThis study aims to examine the perception of nature and outdoor recreation habits from an urban-rural prospective. The urbanization process continues in Sweden and the populations of the cities are growing continuously. Trends to build more compact and ?climate smart? reigns and with this a risk that green areas and areas where outdoor recreation can be practiced are situated further and further away from the urban population. Analyzing the responses from a survey made by the research program Friluftsliv i förändring 2007 we have examined if and which differences exists between urban and rural areas regarding their perception of nature, outdoor recreation habits and factors influencing the practice of outdoor recreation.

The purpose of this essay is to illustrate the preparation of total and civil defense education in schools in the 1970s to gain insight into how the school looked and pondered the complicated world that existed outside the school's doors. By using the concepts of welfare state, welfare and civil defense culture, I have studied relevant materials to get answers to questions treating the total and civil education in schools after Lgr69, the way the state sees the subject and if it is possible to detect a civil defense culture in schools and if so, how it will be expressed.     The results show that the state emphasized education as incredibly important because knowledge of how to act in a crisis or war could be extremely crucial for the individuals and their survival. The education was so important that it got a role as a main factor in Lgr69. But even if the education was important the teachers had huge problems with the schedule and many teachers couldn´t educate all facts because they didn´t have enough time.

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is the most commonly diagnosed cardiac disease in cats. The phenotype varies from mild focal thickening to severe concentric hypertrophy at the left ventricle. Two separate myosin binding protein C (MYBPC3) mutations have been identified in Maine coon cats (A31P and A74T) and one in Ragdoll cats. All three of them seem to cause familial HCM in an autosomal dominant pattern. The purpose of this study was to investigate the presence of these three mutations in population cats of different breeds with HCM in Sweden. The results may show if HCM is present in the absence of these mutations.

Canine parvovirus is associated with two disorders: enteritis, which is common, and myocarditis, which is rare. Prominent clinical signs of parvovirus enteritis are vomiting, diarrhea and rapid dehydration. Canine parvovirus type 2 (CPV-2) is very contagious. When CPV-2 first emerged it had high rates of mortality, but later studies have shown that most infections are self-limiting and do not require veterinary care. Mortality rates vary greatly, and therefore it is important to determine risk factors for developing severe canine parvovirus enteritis.

Everyday life mobility of elderly people ? opportunities, restrictions and sustainable urban visions aim to examine and describe elderly people?s movement patterns, their opportunities and restrictions of reaching high mobility and accessibility, and their attitude towards various sustainable urban visions. This paper is based on an approach of time-space geography as it covers the topic of movements in time-space, explained and developed using the concepts of mobility and accessibility. To examine elderly people?s attitude towards sustainable urban visions, this paper also takes approach on theories such as New Urbanism, mixed-use and the compact city.The method used in the study is an interweaving of a time geographic diary and qualitative interviews, where the respondents are six retired people between 68 and 77 years old living in Gothenburg city.

Denna kartläggning ingår som en del i ett större forskningsprojekt, Idefics (Identification and prevention of Dietary and Lifestyle?induced Health Effects in Children and Infants) som har tagits fram för att förebygga övervikt och fetma bland barn mellan 2?4? och 6?8 år i Europa. Syftet med vår kartläggning är att utifrån ett stickprov bestående av 100 barn ur Idefics population kartlägga livsmedelsintag. Detta som underlag för deras kommande intervention där två av nyckelbudskapen är att öka konsumtionen av vatten samt frukt och grönsaker. Även skillnader i livsmedelsintag mellan interventions? och kontrollgrupp, flickor och pojkar samt förskole? och skolbarn studeras.

Although known and feared for thousands of years, rabies remains a real and present threat to thousands of people, especially in low- and middle income countries. In India, rabies is an endemic disease, causing human deaths every year. The primary mode of transmission is through the bite of an infected dog. Fighting the disease in the Dog population through vaccinations remains the most efficient way to eradicate the disease. The knowledge of rabies in India is unsatisfactory, as a lot of people lack awareness about the severity of the disease and the importance of washing the bitten area and seeking medical attention for post exposure prophylaxis when bitten by a dog.

Bakgrund och problem: Det senaste decenniet har kännetecknats av en rad redovisnings- och revisionsskandaler. Alla dessa händelser har gett upphov till förändringar i revisionsbranschen, men främst av revisorns roll och betydelse. UC presenterade nyligen en rapport över konkurser som avslutats i april 2013. Det mönster som går att tyda är att de största ökningarna är inom byggindustrin, privata tjänster samt information och kommunikation. Revisorns roll i säkerheten av den redovisade ekonomiska informationen gör att denne ses som en kvalitetsstämpel gentemot tredje part.
