Utvärdering av flygbildstolkning för uppskattning av beståndsvariabler och åtgärdsförslag i ungskogar : en studie på Korsnäs Skog och Bergvik Skog AB i västra Dalarna

In Korsnäs district Dala Väst there were problems with information concerning their younger forests, mainly those in pre-thinning stage. They were divided into large, heterogeneous stands with often poor stand data quality. In 2006 an aerial photo interpretation of the young forests was conducted to fix these problems. Necessary information to get from the interpretation were silvicultural management suggestions, new stand delineation and new stand data. This thesis is supposed to evaluate the quality and usability of the interpreted data. To evaluate the interpretation an objective control inventory was conducted in 60 stands, either through callipering or counting stems.

Palliativ vård i hemmet : Distriktssköterskors erfarenheter av mötet med patienter och dess närstående

Bakgrund: Befolkningen i Sverige blir allt äldre och fler önskar vårdas och dö i hemmet. Idag vårdas många inom allmän palliativ vård med stöd av distriktssköterskor. I den tidigare forskningen inom palliativ vård i hemmet har framför allt den specialiserade palliativa vården beskrivits. Få studier har undersökt mötet mellan distriktssköterskor och patienter och närstående inom allmän palliativ vård.Syfte: Att beskriva distriktssköterskors erfarenheter av mötet med patienter och dess närstående vid allmän palliativ vård i hemmet.Metod: Empirisk kvalitativ studie, deskriptiv design. Semistrukturerade intervjuer med åtta distriktssköterskor.

The unusually cold winters along with extreme prices of electricity in Sweden in recent years has also contributed to increased interest in energy-efficient buildings.The process of developing a modern family home in Kiruna, Sweden is presented the first part of this paper. The house has been designed to withstand very high stresses from snow, low energy consumption as well as a high standard of living comfort. Aspects of the house covered here involves everything from construction, heating and ventilation to sanitation. Each of these areas is presented based on their underlying, scientific methods or theories.

AbstractElectricity consumption is a globally increasing problem caused by the high share of electricity produced in coal power plants. These contribute to high carbon emissions when only about 1/3 of the heat generate electricity and the remaining 2/3 of the heat cools off. Combined heat and power plants (CHP) have high efficiency because they use the residual heat for domestic heating. The CHP plant often use fuels from renewable resources, giving them a lower carbon footprint, but are also depending on the heat demand. If electric powered products such as drying cabinets convert to heat powered products more environmentally friendly electricity will be produced by CHP plants, which can supplant electricity, produced from coal power plants and reduce carbon emissions.

BIOGAS POTENTIAL IN GRASSES FROM WETLANDSMarvin MartinsThe purpose of this study has been to survey wetlands that are suitable for mowing and to analyze the biogas potential in the harvested grasses. A preformed investigation showed that there are suitable wetlands, which can be harvestable, namely those mowed formerly in traditional haymaking. The practice of traditional haymaking is dying out in Sweden today but there are several good reasons why it should to be reconsidered. Nature- and cultural values are obvious, also the unutilized energy in the grass.The suitable types of wetland that were specifically studied were the productive wetlands; meadow marshes and wet meadows. These wetlands are represented in the Swedish meadow- and pasture inventory database; (TUVA) and the Swedish national wetland inventory (VMI).

Depression hos äldre i hemsjukvården blir ofta oupptäckta och otillräckligt behandlade. Distriktssköterskors arbete är därför viktig för att kunna erbjuda adekvat vård.Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva distriktssköterskans erfarenheter av att möta äldre patienter med depression inom kommunal hemsjukvårdMetod: Studien genomfördes med en kvalitativ ansats. Fem distriktssköterskor som arbetande i den kommunala hemsjukvården intervjuades med semistrukturerade frågor utifrån en intervjuguide. En kvalitativ manifest innehållsanalys användes för att analysera intervjuerna.Resultat: Vid analysen framkom fem kategorier och 10 underkategorier.

En energistudie över Fengerfors bruk : Kartläggning och förslag till effektiviseringsåtgärder hos byggnader av industrikaraktär

I slutet av 1900-talet började man inse konsekvenserna av att förlita sig på icke förnyelsebara energikällor för uppvärmning. Priserna steg i höjden och man valde ofta att byta ut sin oljepanna mot el vilket för tillfället var en lönsam lösning. I och med prisstegringen som skett det senaste decenniet har betydelsen av energieffektivt byggande framstått som allt mer tydlig. Detta innebär att många äldre byggnader ofta kan ha mycket dåliga värmeisolerade egenskaper eftersom både energipriser och byggnormer var lågt ställda vid tiden för uppförning.Uppdragsgivarna till arbetet är en ideell ekonomisk förening vid namn Not Quite med sin bas i Fengerfors bruk, Åmål. De har framfört att de har problem med för höga uppvärmningskostnader och svårigheter med att hålla önskad inneluftstemperatur i deras lokaler.

This study was carried out as a commission from Holmen Skog, district ?Egen skog? in Norrköping. During October 2006 several stands were inventoried by aerial photos from helicopter. The stands were those for which the next action proposed was plant inventory or plant check. The photos were interpreted and the number of stems was calculated.

The purpose of Älvdalens besparingsskog is to develop the district and most of all the forestry in Älvdalen. It's owned by about 2 300 private forest owners who's landed properties are located in Älvdalen. Every year the besparingsskogen gives out a lot of its profit in form different types of subsidies for agriculture and forestry. The owners can apply for subsidies for several of the costs that occur in forestry. During the period 2000-2003 the owners are offered forest management plans and pcSKOG-gård at no cost for their private forest properties. The purpose of this master's thesis was to find out if the activity in the forestry changed when the forest owners got new forest management plans and the computer program pcSKOG-gård.

Latent heat storage is a way to store thermal energy when a phase change material undergoes a phase change. The advantage of latent heat storage is the capability to store more energy per mass unit than other heat storage methods. The most commonly used phase change in latent heat storage is the transition between solid and liquid. Phase change materials can be divided into organics, inorganics and eutectics.In the Nordic electricity market the price of electricity is set every hour by Nordpool spot, which leads to price fluctuations because of changes in demand. The main goal of this report is to create a latent heat storage system in a single-family home and investigate the possibility to save money by charging the latent heat storage system when the price of electricity is low, and discharge when the price is high.The thermodynamic model consisted of a ?tube-in-tube? heat exchanger with phase change material in the outer tube and water as the heat transfer fluid in the inner tube.

Introduktion: I det hälsofrämjande arbetet, som är en del av distriktssköterskansspecialistkompetens, är rådgivning en grundläggande arbetsuppgift. Socialstyrelsen menar att hälso- och sjukvårdspersonal i sitt hälsofrämjande arbete behöver ställa frågor om levnadsvanor i större utsträckning än vad som görs idag. Ibland kan det dock finnas skäl till att inte ta upp dessa frågor med en patient. Om frågorna inte känns relevanta finns det en risk att de upplevs som kränkande, vilket i förlängningen skulle kunna leda till skuldbeläggning och obehag och därigenom skapa ytterligare ohälsa. Fysisk aktivitet på Recept (FaR) är enmetod som innebär att patienten får ett recept förskrivet på individuellt anpassad fysisk aktivitet.

As a result of increased energy prices more and more energy-efficient homes are coveted. An energy-efficient alternative is passive houses, which is characterized by an extremely well insulated building envelope that recovers the heat without the use of radiators or under floor heating. But a passive house requires a higher investment cost than a conventional building project, since it will require more construction materials, training of construction workers, greater land area, and long construction period. But the lower operating cost expects to pay back the higher cost of investment. We therefore question how profitable a passive house is in relation to houses built according to modern conventional building techniques.The aim of our study is to investigate the viability of passive houses compared to convent­ional houses.

AbstractThis report intends through a case study to investigate if lightweight concrete isappropriate as main material in the outer wall of a seven storey residential building.A technical design is carried out in accordance with the definitions and requirementsfor passive houses, given by FEBY?s1 ?Demand specification for passive houses?.A literature review is also carried out for a comparison between regular bolt wall andlight weight concrete wall, with a focus on the safety of moisture.The lightweight concrete block used in the report is as a celblock produced by thecompany H+H Sweden AB.The methods used have resulted in compliance with requirements andrecommendations from authorities. Calculations of energy, noise and moisture riskassessment has been carried out.The work has resulted in the conclusion that the lightweight concrete itself is notable to isolate in the extent necessary to obtain chosen U-value of 0,1 W/m2 ° C,without getting to thick. Therefore additional insulation is needed. There are fewrelevant reference objects built with only light weight concrete.

Skogsbristen i Smålands bruksskogar : en studie av träkolsförbrukning vid Storebro Bruk 1793-1850

The forest in the county of Småland has been utilised for a long time. One of the most important forms of utilisation of wood has been charcoaling for the benefit of the iron industry. Shortage of forest in relation to the iron industry, was discussed already in the 17th century in Sweden. The aim of this study was to analyse the purchase and consumption of charcoal at Storebro Bruk, an ironwork in Småland, during the period 1793-1850, as well as analyse the shortage of forest at the time. To determine the utilisation of the forest in the area, I have used historical sources from Storebro Bruksarkiv.

Produktion av krukodlade örtkryddor i växthus och dess utsläpp av växthusgaser i Sverige : energianvändning och beräkning av koldioxidekvivalenter

Abstract The global average temperature has increased by 0,74°C over the last 100 years. Most probably, the explanation is due to increasing use of fossil fuels and the agricultural expansion of land use. The new life stile of mankind leads to increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Food consumption contributes with approximately a quarter of the total greenhouse gas emission per person and year, why it is an important task to reduce these. The aim of this work is to quantify energy use and greenhouse gas emissions for (Swedish) herbs produced in Swedish greenhouses. The study is based on a LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) and collected data from participating companies producing herbs in pots.
